Hello Pam, I have never painted any furniture before ,but i want to redo an old piece i have. It is painted with chalk paint and i want. to repaint it with semigloss but I don't want to ruin it can I do this. Can you tell me what i need to do before I start thank you very much Linda Jackson
@@lindajackson8068 I don't usually use semi gloss because most requires sanding and priming. If you're applying over chalk paint, you might be ok. I'm sorry I don't use semi gloss so I can't be sure
Hii can i ask what kind of paint is the white one? It is some kind of wood paint or dust that you are watering it?
Pam Haskins wish you would tell the color of the paints and stains please

Yours is the 7th video I watched on this technique and by far the very best. The way you explain the process and the steps to achieve the grey weathered finish is very clear and easy to understand. Great work and thank you. I am going to try this method tomorrow.
Thanks for sharing all your knowledge and tips! It really does change the way the piece looks but doesn’t take away the age-it highlights it!!
Thank you so much
Hey Pam! Now I can tackle my first time whitewashing project with confidence. You are a delightful and concise instructor. Thank you so much. Grannie G, Burlington, Washington.
Thank you so much. That means so much to me
Awesome job! Love the accent. It looks fresh and modern ready to go. Thanks Pam.
I love the technique you used on this. A lot of tutorials use sanding afterward to make it look like this but I didn't want to use a sander. I'm going to try this!
Please let me know how it goes! I'm always happy to help
This is great! Thank you for the lesson. The piece looks amazing.
Thank you so much for watching
I'm so glad I found this one Pam 😀. I've used the products and techniques, but not in the same way. I learned a lot. I never thought to mash the colors together with a rag after dry brushing. 😮
I could watch this video over and over. You are the cutest, and I loved this tutorial! Can't wait to do this.

Hi Pam,
Thank you! I really got nervous as I was working on my 32 year old hope chest my husband made me before we got married. Really needed an update was stained a very dark walnut to match a bedroom set we don’t even have anymore. I played your video over and over, and as you were talking, I just kept whitewashing and wiping until I got the look I was looking for. You helped me to be brave! And achieve by not giving up! Sandy

Transparent latex paint mixed with a bit of dark colorant also creates a perfect gel "stain".
Slightly diluted mineral paint also makes a great stain

@@PamHaskins Nope. But now I want to.
@@PamHaskins Have you refinished old vintage furniture with gray woodgrain laminate? I have 3 dressers that were my parents' that are amazingly well made, but they are scuffed and need some work. It just seems a shame, though, to completely sand down that cool, vintage vibe. Any ideas?
