    For the short run between the risers for the radiator and where the copper ended , I’m surprised that Steve used Pex instead of continuing copper. I like Pex. I ran my shop air lines with it. So far it’s been a couple of years and no leaks. It says that it’s good for 160 psi.

      this way it will not leak .. one clamp i have had leaks before .

    Invest in some crimpers Steve. You get used to them and gets easier and easier to crimp. Looked like you were struggling to use that clincher. Compression rings are way easier. Imo Clinchers can come in handy in a tight spot where ya can't open the crimper fully.

    I thought you have to use orange pex with the oxygen barrier for boiler lines?

    • @Chrominance87
      @Chrominance87 ปีที่แล้ว

      You do, otherwise the the oxygen that comes out of solution when the water gets hot will end up damaging the the interior. The color doesn't necessarily indicate the material.

    Hey Steve, I love your channel. Just a honest question, why do you use those Stainless steel crimp clamps over the copper rings? I only use the Mil 3 crimper and never had an issue. Keep doing what you do❤

    • @ronlovell5374
      @ronlovell5374 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I like and prefer the stainless pinch clamp rings, over copper bands, they're far superior in strength, corrosion resistance and can be removed easily if necessary. You can squash copper rings with your fingers. I use all three systems including expansion and give customers options, which usually comes down to price. One thing to point out though, with a radiator, especially especially an old one, I would have used 3/4 Pex.

      Needs to have an oxygen barrier or oxygen will perminate the pipe and rust out your boiler. I believe the temperature rating is also higher.

      Good question, if you don’t have a job site coordinator or a general contractor looking over all of the other contractors, electricians plumbers carpenters tapers painters, then everybody just trying to rush in there and get their job done, that’s why it’s a good idea to have a job site coordinator, but good point!

  • @startover125
    @startover125 ปีที่แล้ว

    I hated those peks pliers, I only weighed 105 pounds, and I think it took like 90 pounds to squeeze the damn clamp, specially worse in tight spaces, but they got the job done
