I miss your videos Martin. 😢 I do love being able to go back and re-watch the PM videos. Such a wealth of information that has helped me over the years now.
Martin/Joni in the last two weeks after watching the videos, I have an F53 and I have changed the motor oil and filter, air filter, greased the chassis, completely serviced the 5500 Onan generator. Next will be leveling jacks and air conditioning units. Thank for your willingness to teach others. Thanks from AL in East Tennessee
Bandana stays. It's part of your channel, and no reason to change that. This channel rocks. I use a shop vac and a diy siphon hose set up to extract fluids, works fast and no mess. Thanks for your videos Martin and Joanie.
The bandanna stays. love it. I did my water heater, all fresh, gray and black tanks. Need to do my hydraulic fluid for my jacks and my power steering fluid. Thanks for all you do. Don
Hey Martin, first time owner of my RV and my first month having it. I really enjoy your insights and in this case here, if you didn't do it yet, you should get an intro video about all fluid maintenance items we should have on our lists and have individual videos like this one for each of these PM items. Again, thanks for your work, the community appreciates it and I do too. .
Thank You so much for all of the information and insight that you provide. Your videos are a great resource for RV'ers like myself who like to do our own PM's, service and repairs. Being retired and a gearhead myself it is a great way to stay active and spend time doing things that I have enjoyed to do since I was a kid. After watching your videos my things to do list is pretty long now. I hope that I can get our new / used 2016 Challenger looking as great and as organized as your Coach is over this next year. You two are great and I hope to see you out on the trail some time. Oh, and also a nice resource you have with the amazon store as well. I will be using it as well.
I love your bandanas and your look. It is you! Just Be you. You do a great job. I really like following you. I have learned a lot and if i need to know sonething I go search you for it.
Hey Martin, we all can tell your old school Army, you follow regular schedule maintance, and document it....my question is do you fill out a 2404 per the TM manual....lol...great video, thanks for all the DIY maintance videos. Jodi, great job on the video.
Keep your style. It is your signature! I love your channel and I've learned so much from the things you share. I'm keeping my hubby busy just by things I see you do or have done LOL! Nezt is the fluids!
Bandana Forever... It's 100% you... Like you said, It's not just for looks, it serves a purpose, keeping Hair and Sweat out of your eyes. The nestalgic look of a Bandana, is just a Plus. YOU ROCK.... 1. KEEP THE BANDANA!!! Its essential, plus I am jealous and envy you having hair LOL! (Need to get some made up to sell to all of us in the fan club through your store ! Its getting hot here in Georgia and my old bandana is shot so I need a new one.) 2. Need to do the power steering on my F53. Will probably knock it out in the next week or so. 3. Also I have to change the tranny fluid in the next 60 to 90 days. Any chance you're doing a video on that project? If so I'll wait to do mine. 4. Did the hydraulic fluid for the jacks about 11 months ago so I am good there. 5. I did the brake fluid about a year ago, and also monitor fluid moisture with one of those meters you can get for that purpose. I also bought a bleeder pump but it was useless on the rear brakes as the run was too long to get the air out with the vacuum. Thus the chief finance officer had to pump brakes while I bled off air. 6. Still backed up on the rust project, but making headway. I didn't know about the interface between the brakes and the power steering or the filter in the reservoir on the F53 -so many thanks! The good news is at the moment everything is working on the rig. The bad news is that I'm scared to use it as I am afraid something will break! Have to drive down to Disney in FL in 2 weeks though to take the grands to see Mickey. Hope you all have had safe travels on your journey. Thanks to both of you for another fantastic and educational video.
3. Did my tranny fluid 2yrs. ago and also changed the filter which required me to drop the pan, but I didn't do a video then. Send me a quick message on FB and I'll reply with the procedure.
Handshake: I enjoy your videos. They are very entertaining and keep the Bandannas! as you said, it is you, which is why I watch, and hell, I don't even have an RV. CAVU!
Thanks for the video! Well done. Just recently diagnosed my Kwikee step malfunction on my 2010 30W. It ended up being the motor. Wasn’t tough to replace at all. Keep the bandana!
Martin and Joanie: Thank you so much for all you do for us. You've added an entire lower level of our Holiday Rambler MH for me to crawl around and enjoy. Keep the bandana(s). With a cleaned HW tank, fresh oil, lube, sanitized water tank we're ready for our summer adventure to the NE (it's the journey, not the destination). Carrying spare generator fuel pump and water pump, juice for seals, tire clean and UV protection, contact cleaner and terminal protection. and more. I may do the power steering fluid change along the way. Thanks again.
Oh WOW good going Andy. Way to go. 👍 You're already miles ahead of a lot of folks out there. It shocks me how many people don't even look at their stuff until it breaks. And then they wonder what happened. 😂
Martin and Joanie, great video and information as usual! Finished soundproofing and recovering the front floor and doghouse with engineered wood, came out great. 2014 Fleetwood Terra 35K. You do what you like or makes you comfortable, bandanas are good but I need a sweat rag cause when I'm in Florida I'm pouring. Fluids change is always a good thing.
I've often thought about doing the front cabin area too with engineered wood and I MAY do that in the future. But for right now I've got that whole area covered in rubber mats over the carpet. I'm assuming you also had carpet up there. When you ripped out the carpet to lay down the engineered wood, how did you soundproof underneath the new flooring?
I was waiting to see if you mentioned the SECRET filter, lol. I recently bought a filter to change out (Wix 57191) when I do the fluid. I have just over 50k on my motorhome and the power steering moans when I turn the wheels. I'm hoping a PS fluid change will help with the noise (if its old/contaminated fluid), heck it could be the original fluid because I don't know what the previous owners did or did not do. My Workhorse recommends GM power steering fluid and Valvoline is the equivalent. Convenient you made a video for me to get extra tips! Thanks for the great videos. I also picked up some of that Valvoline Red chassis grease you recommended for my next maintenance job. KEEP THE BANDANAS!! It is totally your signature look!
Hi Martin - I need to add brake fluid to the reservoir on my Fleetwood Southwind F53. The reservoir is at the very top of the engine bay - looks like you need to go thru the dash panel opening! Could this be? Can’t find anything on line! Thank you!
What’s annoying for me is that my 2017 F53 chassis has most of its fill reservoirs up really high and I have no idea how to get a bottle up there to add or change fluids, lol
Martin, Keep the bandana! It's part of your brand and as you say when doing maintenance on a vehicle sweat in the eyes isn't fun, especially if you have greasy hands.
Great video! Do you have a video on replacing brake fluid in that Hydromax? Searched TH-cam and cant find any either. Also, how to measure what's in there would be helpful too.
Seeing your hand pump in the plastic bag made me giggle. Husband just had to do a long trip on his motorcycle and we bought that same one and put it in a gallon bag so he could refill from the Jerry can without taking it off the luggage rack. Great and informative video as always. Edit to add: wear it!! Wear what makes you happy, I used to work for saks 5th Ave and sold shoes for thousands a pair however, most of my wardrobe is under 30 dollars a piece or from the 1950s to 1970s because that's what I like.
Don't want to cross contaminate from job to job. Edit: Sorry, Joanie just showed me I didn't answer your question right. I clean it out with paint thinner and then pull the plunger out about an inch from the bottom to avoid it getting vacuum lock.

@@RVstreet thanks brother 🙏🏿,I Martinized my 18 southwind this spring because we were still at home-based. Generator, level system, wet bay components. Great 👍🏾series 👏👌🏾👍🏾
I know I'm being a pain but what awning fabric treatments do you use 🤔,especially since your awnings are exposed more than most people. 👋🏾Hey miss Joanie!!
@@delmarsbeensaved8569 I replaced all our slide toppers, main awning and window awnings 4 years ago. It's a top of the line material and the material came treated from the factory, so I don't treat them at all. But I do wash them often with warm water and Woolite. It's gentle on the fabric and won't wash off treatment. I also never roll them up wet, I keep leaves off them and never open them under pine trees.
I just head your not suppose to park on concrete due to the compounds in the tires drawn to the concrete. So, what is the best surface to park on? Tks, Mike
You shouldn't park on concrete for-LONG-periods of time. But we never do that. We're Full timers so we're always on the go during most of the year. But even when we're parked for the winter at our site in RGV, we pack up and exercise our RV on the highway every 4-6 weeks. I actually have a video coming out soon about that, so I encourage you to watch that so you can see what we do. I'm very anal about taking care of my tires and exercising our coach regularly as you may already know. Not sure if your subbed or not. BUT......for extended park or storage times....best solution is wood or rubber mats under the tires. You should also not park on grass or wet surfaces and always fill your tires to the max air pressure written on the side wall for extended storage periods to prevent flat spots. thx Michael for your question 🔧 👍
@@RVstreet perfect! Got rubber Matt's. 2,x 2's (at Harbor Freight) will use them when I repla e all 6 8yr old tires that's been parked on man made concrete gravel for 2 yrs. Mike
@@RVstreet Hi Martin. Love your videos. Bought a 6 year old 2016 Vista 30 T with no maintenance records. Just learned the brake fluid should be changed every 2 years -prbobably never has been. No luck on finding anything on how to change the brake fluid. A future video on that would be great! Can't find any video on that. Appears to be not as easy as this one.
My awning (Dometic) is stuck in closed position. Motor froze. Bought new motor. Scoured the how-to video's to change it. They all show awning opened a few inches. How do I get it open alittle w/o breaking fingers! Tks again, Mike
Sorry Mike I missed your question, but I can't advise this situation without actually being there, looking it and coming up with a plan. Have you found a solution yet?
@@RVstreet Nice place to be. I was stationed at Pease AFB in Portsmith. NH. Explored the area well. Loved the coast and light houses. Went up White mtn. Saw it snow in June! Have fun. Mike
@@michaelcombs2045 Have you tried calling or emailing Dometic? Have you checked all the basic stuff like, do you have power going to the motor? Any blown fuses? Having someone try to push the awning switch to open it while you're up there on a ladder and manually helping it to open and get it started to open?
Have class c 32 foot it did not come with LEVELERS What would be my options not a lot of money to work with what my option to LEVEL this around 15500 weight staying Cost effective or cheap.
We are working on "Martinizing" our new-to-us 2004 Allegro. Thanks for all the great insights and videos! Also, ignore the bald haters out there who are just jealous of your golden mane. Hey, one thing I would like to see would be a video of a complete transmission flush and service. I've searched and found a few, but they are all lacking info and none have your level of detail. Thanks again.
Ya my "Golden Mane" is special isn't it? 😂 I did a full transmission flush and service about 2 1/2 years ago @ 30K miles at a camp ground in RGV. We were nobody at that point on YT, had no following at that point, but I still tried to do a video. But, back then I was doing all the camera work too and it just became impossible to focus on what I was doing and shoot the vid at the same time. So I trashed the idea and completed the tranny service. When I get ready to do it again @ 60K miles I'll be sure to do a video and with Joanie shooting now, it will be be a breeze. BTW...I can hear you saying thru my telepathic mind reading abilities, 30K and then again @ 60K why so often my manual says......bla, bla, bla... Yep every 30K...details coming up on RVstreet.
@@RVstreet no, I know you take the recommended maintenance time and cut it in half, so that's what I'm going to do too. Looking forward to the trany video and anything else. Love your channel. Thanks!
Since the Hydroboost and Hydromax systems receive fluid pressure from the power steering pump to provide power assist during braking, this is no ordinary power steering fluid change and it's an important one to do. For your tow vehicle that you pull your 5th wheel or RV Trailer, your motorhome or the vehicle you tow behind it, be sure to check your user manual for the proper type of fluids you should be using. They may vary from what I use in my year RV. This also applies to all fluids used in your RV too. Also, thanks for all your support for my bandanas 😜 I had no intention to stop wearing them, but I'm asking all you guys-our friends and fans-the next time one of these "wisenheimers" pops off at me, I need you guys to jump into the ring with me and watch my back. I'd like some help in the comment section from time to time.
Help! I am very new at this. My first anything bigger than a car. I'm having a hard time finding info on my 1991 holiday rambler aluma lite 25'. The books I have don't have info on my engine, tyranny, and where I find all my dip sticks, oil I found so far. My engine light just came on and the engine emblem just lit up! I usually diy. But with no manuals or instruction to find I'm at the mercy of a mechanic's prices. Which means I'm on foot! I'm retired and need help. Please.
Hi Susie, You can probably find info, manuals and diagrams on public forums. Be specific as best you can when you post your question. Year, model, engine size, chassis type etc. Also have good pictures to attach to your question that will help assist folks to answer your questions. Start here: www.irv2.com/forums/groups/39-holiday+rambler+owners+club-page1.html Hunt and you shall find.🙏
Have you ever thought of doing maintenance items on another type of RV and filming it so we can see some different components? I would let you work on mine if nobody else is willing 😀
Most of my maintenance and How-To videos cover taking care of a multitude of components that-many if not most-RVers share in common. Check out my PLAYLIST and you'll see what I mean: th-cam.com/users/RVstreetplaylists I have a couple of videos where it wasn't my RV but belonged to a friend and that project had no liability items. But in general, no I don't work on-nor will work on-other peoples RV's simply because of liability issues, I don't have insurance etc, etc. If I worked on someone else's RV and anything goes wrong down the road for any reason, guess who would get blamed. I'm retired and not going there. That's why I show everyone how to do it themselves. Everyone needs to learn how to take care of their own RV. Good question B. 🔧 👍
Martin as with the bandana , DO WHAT YOU LIKE ! Its your head mate Remember the 60`s GET A HAIR CUT well i did in the Army but now i dont care at all , My wife loves me the way i am !
Current Project: My 2016 motorhome wall sealant is starting to crack around the bay doors so hopefully I will remove and replace all the silicone over the next few months.
Some friendly advice. That is not silicone that is there now and DO NOT use silicone when you replace it. NEVER use silicone on anything on your coach. Your coach manufacturer puts out a "callout sheet" for all the different types of sealants you should use in different places on your coach. So be sure to follow that "callout sheet". Thanks for watching Neil 🔧 👍

It's gentle on the fabric and won't wash off treatment. I also never roll them up wet, I keep leaves off them and never open them under pine trees.
@@RVstreet thanks, while not in the market for new awnings,I'll use woolite.for the occasional cleaning 👍🏾 .Safe travels brother 🙏🏿

I`m sure you have it in one of your MANY great videos but do you have a recommendation for a logbook please ?

@@RVstreet Thank you
I just head your not suppose to park on concrete due to the compounds in the tires drawn to the concrete.
Mike

how to bleed power steering & parking brake on 1994 Winnebago class a RV motor-home
My autozone sold the motorcraft dextron v ...i just changed my trans fluid with it
Do you have a video on what you did for your brake fluid change?
No I don't. Sorry. But here's a shortcut for all the videos I have done in different groups: th-cam.com/users/RVstreetplaylists
There's a R V park for sale in Cherokee County in AL. On Wiess lake for 1.6 mil.
I'm retired. I don't want a job. I have enough on my plate. 😜 😜 😜 😜 😜
I thought there might be interested in that investment.
@@RVstreet no luck. I'm in Clearwater, Fl. Where are u ?
@@michaelcombs2045 Way up north heading to Maine.
What model Fumoto Oil plug do you use on your Triton V-10?

Regular leveling blocks under the tires. Cheap and light weight. Make sure they are under the whole front tires and both dually tires.
I can't find the brake fluid reservoir in my class a motorhome, it loses pressure after several pumps. Do you know where it's at?

I'm sorry I don't have that information for you but have you tried googling it.......Good luck
I did a full transmission flush and service about 2 1/2 years ago @ 30K miles at a camp ground in RGV.
Thanks!
Since the Hydroboost and Hydromax systems receive fluid pressure from the
power steering pump to provide power assist during braking, this is no ordinary power steering fluid change and it's an important one to do.
Got my vote!!!!!!!!
Please.
Hi Susie,
You can probably find info, manuals and diagrams on public forums. Be specific as best you can when you post your question. Year, model, engine size, chassis type etc.
Also have good pictures to attach to your question that will help assist folks to answer your questions.

Have you ever thought of doing maintenance items on another type of RV and filming it so we can see some different components? I would let you work on mine if nobody else is willing 😀
Most of my maintenance and How-To videos cover taking care of a multitude of components that-many if not most-RVers share in common. Check out my PLAYLIST and you'll see what I mean:
th-cam.com/users/RVstreetplaylists
I have a couple of videos where it wasn't my RV but belonged to a friend and that project had no liability items.

Keep the bandana.

There not motorhome specific. Most everything I produce applies to all RV's. This particular video DID apply to motorhomes though.
