    We need water.
    We need electricity.
    Everything else is a luxury. God gave us brains to invent the reservoir. For people's needs. Fill it up & use it wisely!

    They do know smallmouth bass are a cold water fish hence the great lake when they freeze over and people ice fish for them!

    They should not use the river outlets unless they have too.
    It’s been stated that using them at low water levels can accelerate cavitation

    Petroglyphs, dam repair, Chubb. Over the years you have come up with a lot of excuses to drain lake Powell and mead.

    Releasing cold water from Lake Powell to control small mouth bass population is the wildest thing I've heard on the internet all week

      Also shows how people are able to affect the environment and how sometimes we need to regulate things more precisely than we would want to etc. Lots of variables. Quite fascinating.

    Screw the bass, screw hydropower. Keep the water for drinking and residential use only

    • @michaeljacques7336

      You release than almost no one lives any where near this revisor right? Is basically solely for hydropower and boating. Powell is terrible for storing water because its on permeable rock, and looses a lot of water to evaporation. I think the statistic is that the lake looses half of the water that flows into it.

      @@michaeljacques7336 Half through evaporation...I've never heard of such a thing.

    • @michaeljacques7336
      @michaeljacques7336 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@DMAN-o2e half through evaporation and rock permeability. The lake is on a layer of pours sandstone.

      @@michaeljacques7336 I'd need a citation when you say "half". I've never read data that's ever come close to half...with respect.

    Wasting water to save a near extinct fish, sounds very California 🤪

    Introducing none native fish into waters where they don't belong solely for recreational sport fishing has always been totally as stupid idea. Always had to be for some kind of egotistical pleasure disregarding natural habitat and wildlife. The dam shouldn't be there at all. Get rid of it so this nonesense of worry about water at glen canyon dam can go away with it. People! Move to places where there is more water to back east and or north. Stop the stupidity of wasting soaking up the desert.
