    Honestly, I thought I might have ADHD some time ago but my brother told me I keep making excuses and coming up with new "issues" with my head so I dropped the idea. But after hearing you talk about it, well, I am the same person you described basically, cannot organize myself, I am introverted with lots of anxiety but also very chatty and lose track of thought easily, etc. I'm now pretty sure I have ADHD. I will ask my doc when I meet with him in few weeks about it.
    Also, I love you and your content! I discovered you recently but you already have been a huge influence over my art path. Sending love from Poland

    Dude you can't call your entire career a 'flop era' you are soooo accomplished and I would dream to have the opportunities you have. Take this as a sign that none of your mistakes and choices in the past were reason to be a flop. Im super duper inspired by you Anoosha! 💕💕💕

      Thank you! I also wanted to clarify, my ‘flop era’ is mostly about my internal struggles (anxiety, depression etc) and I didn’t mean to minimize my successes or make anyone else feel bad about their own journey!! ❤️

    ADHD Artist here, too. I agree with others that both resting is not wasteful & that calling practically your whole life your “flop era” is untrue. It’s not so much as a flop era so much as your early learning experience, continued education. We are lifelong learners & with so many are now learning from platforms such as this, it is important to recognize that language you use really can influence the response of your audience. You are successful & when stating things self derogatory, you may make others feel especially inadequate. Give yourself grace for mistakes made, & especially to allow yourself rest. I hope you find this more as constructive, less so criticism. I love and appreciate the both your work, and the efforts you put towards educating others. Thank you!

      That’s totally fair, thank you for sharing your thoughts! I definitely should have worded that better in the video. I totally recognize that I have experiences of successes and privilege. by ‘flop era’ I was mostly referring to a bunch of internal battles that were going on throughout my life (anxiety, depression, unhealthy relationships w work, insecurities etc) that were weighing me down and not allowing me to fully experience life or love myself. I thought the phrase flop era was funny and used it there, but i definitely wasn’t trying to say that anyone else going through these types of emotions is somehow a lesser person.
      I’ll aim to be more conscientious with my words in the future!

    It's soooo common for artists and I've seen so many people (especially women) getting diagnosed lately in their 20s. I also got raised being called just sensitive and creative, with a panic disorder. My boyfriend got his adhd diagnosis VERY young and I only got more answers when I was 20. I can't handle larger projects because of this. Had to cancel a childrensbook project last year, although it had been my biggest dream for so long. It's just not meant for me, I only strive on quick validation lol, and my style wasn't the same as the writer requested so that was very hard for me. I need 100% freedom so I can't use my art for commercial purposes atm. I'm very proud of you tho!! :) You're doing so well! Would love to hear some adhd tips for illustrators although that's super specific hahaha.

      Thank you so much! I am hearing so many women getting diagnosed in their late twenties and I hope this will mean we’ll see a greater awareness for inattentive ADHD and trying to catch in early in kids now.

    Hello Anoosha! This was such a lovely video! But please remember that resting isn't wasteful! Creative minds need to be left alone in order to be recharched

    I truly believe that I may have ADHD, I really would love to see your information about how you got the diagnosis. I am always jumping around with things in my head, ideas that can bombard me at times, social issues, introverted, shiny object syndrome, procrastination, brain fog, so many things.

      Oddly, I also feel some kind of way about traditional media. I love using my iPad and seem to have ‘forgotten’ my original love of graphite and watercolours.

    I relate so hard to this, omg. I'm also 28 and was recently diagnosed with ADHD, also inatentive type. In my case, it was tiktok the one who planted the idea on my brain. Just knowing helps so much, and it's such a relieve to know that its not your fault. I really hope it helps you moving forward! ❤️

    Hi Anoosha, your videos are REALLY inspiring, especially to me as a young budding author and illustrator. Your art work is captivating and so mesmerizing. Keep up the great work. Thank you so much for discussing ADHD because my little sister is hyperactive, has trouble focusing on things she doesn’t want to do like school, etc. and we think she might have adhd and have done research on it as well. People might think people with ADHD have trouble focusing on anything but actually that’s not always true. My 7 year old sister does absolutely stunning work in arts and crafts because that’s what she likes, but she doesn’t always like doing schoolwork. Just wondering would you say the assessment was an easy process because we’re thinking about it for my sister (also it’s totally ok if you don’t answer this question) Thank you so much for your videos! ☺️💖

    • @AnooshaSyed
      @AnooshaSyed  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The assessment itself was easy but being in Canada, there are months-long wait times for adults which is a bit frustrating! I believe it’s a lot faster for kids though because their needs are more immediate.

      If you suspect she might have it, it would be worth it to test so that her teachers will be able to give her adequate support! ❤️
