I never saw such a thing before, what is it made of (parts from which car manufacturer) and what does it have in common with the real 917.

hi it has nothing in common with the real 917. It was made by a company called Elite Enterprise in california in the 70s i believe. The body is fiberglass and you can put a vw chassis or your custom chassis in it. There is a more serious kit that replicates the 971 and another kit will tube chassis and corvette engine. My kit is the cheapest. There are more videos of it if you look. Cheers
