The Air Ambulance is for the northwest, and is based at Blackpool Airport.

Well done Stephen. That's one of two air ambulances that cover the North east and Cumbria. I would guess that it's the Cumbria based one near Penrith approx. 6 miles west of where I live so a regular sight to me. Some years ago one landed on our village green and the display of precision flying was mind blowing. Wonderful to think it's all funded by charitable donations

Great North Air Ambulance they are based in Teeside & Langwathby long way from there base but they do respond to calls on behalf of Northwest Air Ambulance as the Blackpool Air Ambulance only have 2 helicopters at the moment 1 based in Blackpool & 2nd one based in Manchester
