I'm pretty sure that the E92 M3s had dynamic traction control, so he might have had it in sport, too. Edit; Yep, they did. Even the base model 3 series for the E92 had DTC
I have DTC in my e92 335i and for a nearly 20 year old car it is a very good system. Not so intrusive, allows enough slip.. especially great on "non-optimal" surface
They should just embrace it. Once a week, close the road to normal traffic and let people go full on. No need for speed bumps. Just let people do it. There is a happy medium.
I think that m3 is on stock suspension, mine did the same thing until some coilovers, sways bars, and a rear brace, now it’s barely noticeable and puts the power down smooth in the corners and TC barely kicks in

It's so funny and satisfying how u can literally make a cheap old FWD hatchback handle corners like a supercar simply by lowering it and adding an aftermarket rear anti roll bar, good sticky tyres and with weight reduction done to it (also check the alignment!). Adding an LSD would make it even more of a cornering monster. Even little slow K11 Micras are known to punch way above their weight and can hold their own against fairly fast cars like 325i's on the twistys if modded properly. Even my Yaris T sport (lowered, whiteline RARB), without weight reduction, No LSD, all season tyres (yoko bluearth) and likely damaged suspension is able to corner pretty damn flat and accurate below 60mph. I can take pretty tight corners at 55mph on a dry surface before it starts to understeer. Sadly anything above 70, the steering wheel shakes a bit and starts to feel very disconnected from the road.

I'm a owner of an powerfull and suspension modified frontwheel drive car as well and it's always the same with certain BMW guys hanging around : they shit on FWD cars as hard as they can but ironically i've met quite a few of them on some twisties and i'm basically in their trunk the entire time. It's not because their car isn't capable, there is obviously no doubt that a BMW is a much better car concept than any FWD car, but they just can't utilize the car's potential so what's the point of highlighting that your car is so much more capable when you in fact can't make use of its capabilities whatsoever?

Looks like the BMW is afraid to put power down while turning but you start accelerating earlier in the corners, that's a big advantage of FWD.
FWD cornering is easily demonstrated in a roundabout and intuitively easier to control initially imho
Depending on the weight distribution the backside can slide first i believe.
