Indeed, ever since i working at Japan travel agency I been study Japan tourism mostly in his channel to get better idea what Japan is really like beside look through website and promote Japan with our products together with his channel
he's not a J vlogger. what he does is completely different from showing his life in japan through a go pro . every video seems very well planned and the camera skills are on point

@manny he did say in the TT podcast that he loves to do camera work more than anything else, he prefers to be behind camera than to be on the front of it
never knew he took out a loan to help the channel grow. That type of realistic information is very important to future content creators as it gives them the business aspect of things. Even at the risk of meddling into topics TH-camrs don't really wanna discuss.
I believe he mentioned this during the Trash Taste podcast where he was featured as a guest, and he discussed about like how he became an english teacher and how he took out a loan for his channel as well as other topics, i recommend u watch some of the clips.
Chris is such a tsundere love him I don’t see his videos as vlogs ‘cause he always packaged it as a documentary of some sort which makes his content more professional yet the intimacy is still there
His videos are so fantastic. He has a perfect blend of the observational insight of David Attenborough and the dry wit of Anthony Bourdain. His channel is the best.
i particularly like how he made friends along the way by teaching English curse words to Japanese people :))) curse words are always the gateway to learning new stuff haha
His later content has some truly stunning camerawork and editing. But even without that, his sarcastic and self deprecating manner is what's made him a star 😆
Been following Chris since he started his channel and have had many of his videos and experiences show both life abroad (no pun intended) and life in Japan as real as it gets from his perspective, from his humor to his own personal views on the culture of living in a foreign country, Chris is a staple and a good person to know and follow in learning about how difficult and different it is to live outside of your home country. But thank you for this video
I discovered Chris's channel right before Covid hit as I was preparing for my first trip to Japan. I absolutely love his humor and look forward to each time he posts something new. Here it is a year later and I still haven't made it to Japan, but I never miss when he posts.
Thanks for sharing! I thought this was gonna be a hate video judging by the comments but was a pretty good recap of who Chris is. Probably one of my favorite TH-camrs too as the quality and effort he puts into his videos is incredible and I respect him for keeping that standard.

There are two type of videos that I love about Chris: The cinematic travel videos (Journey across Japan, etc) and then the funny ones ( Binge eating Chicken and alcohol with Connor)
I rely heavily on his channel, and an American woman in Japan. His British humor reminds me of all portrayals of Brits: outrageously funny, genuine, and over-the-top proper English. ....which is what makes him so popular. I developed an interest in Japan, roughly 14 years ago, upon my first Navy deployment. I have aspirations to go there, again. But, I work too much; and can't make the time to get there.
I watched his first video the day after he uploaded it, i still watch every video he creates. His dead eyes and no reaction as a reaction always amuses me. You forgot to talk about Natsuki ! F*cking Cleaner, For F*uk Sake, Life is Better with Balloons, Unmistakebakerly and many more gems that pushed AiJ to hights and online merch stores sales sky rocketing to a big dollar industry.
I've only recently discovered this enterprising chap and I gotta say, I love this fella! He's talented annd humorous and one can tell he's dedicated and strong willed. Pity I'd never get the chance to go abroad much less japan - at least not anytime soon. But he's highly entertaining.

Maybe changing the title of the video to something like " The History of Abroad in Japan" would be more accurate since more people would probably click that over "The Truth About...." that title sounds like he was recently outed as a Bond villain IRL
he recently mention his plan to go back to UK to see his friends and family but well, covid is still rampaging. It is also great to see many foreign content creators in Japan come together and create a community
Hands down, he has my favorite channel! I think I've watched every video over the last 2 or 3 years, some a few times, and a lot of his fellow Japanese TH-camrs too. I wouldn't call him a JVlogger because his content is documentary style with a clear direction of showcasing Japan, not a daily update of his personal life there. If and when he leaves Japan, I'll be quite sad as I'm sure many of his fans will be, but I hope to see nothing but progression in his career, so he can always afford lots of fried chicken.
Out of interest, did you message Chris Broad and ask to interview him for this? This video was interesting, but largely just a repetition of things from his videos and podcast - an interview with fresh views would have been even more interesting.
Chris obviously has a deep love of many aspects of Japan, but his videos are very well balanced and give a real insight into the culture (certainly for me, as a fellow Brit and frequent Japan visitor)
Chris is not keen on people's knowing about his Maid in Kent, if you get my drift. So, why spoil the fun? He might have some crazy followers with huge crushes and the like, and wishes to enjoy a level of anonymity

I think more people in Japan or living there should do this as well. I would not call his video's overprofessional. Actually the opposite but he really tries hard for them to be just that. Informative,fun with great views made with limited resources. And alot of it comes from your own pocket. I enjoy his content and learned so much.
