    Highly appreciated. the simple presentation covers a huge area of the Solar off-grid system. One thing I have noticed is that 350W home load is considered as 340W (sorry I mentioned this it does not affect the content of the training program. human error forget it) best wishes I like it very much got more things to my knowledge base.

      Exactly. More panels & more batteries. We just went through a four-day power outage here in Maryland. Our little solar power system (3 x 100 w panels) and 4 (40 WAhr) 160 AHr battery bank enabled us to keep internet up, small pump for aquariums, a fan to cool down, cell phone charging. I think now i just need more batteries to store - luckily we had bright sunshine during the 4 day outage. A few more panels from Renogy as well.

    Excellent explanation. Thank you!
    This video fully explained the basic instructions and requirements for going solar (DIY),. In addition, I think a solar charge controller is required to have a complete solar system setup and the calculation to determine the solar charge controller amps for this video will be dividing the total solar panel watts (720 watts) by 12V (for a 12Volts system) calculation which will give us 60. So you'll need a 60A MPPT or POWMR solar charge controller.

    Battery capacity (draw-down) is rarely 100% of capacity. Even if using LiFePO4 - work on 80% depth of discharge - meaning you can use 80% of 250Ah - so upscale the battery by a factor

      Not only DoD (depth of discharge)/SoC (state of charge) should be considered, but also:
      • SoH (state of health).
      • Inverter efficiency (DC-AC conversion).
      • Battery efficiency (chemical-electrical energy conversion). Irrelevant.
      • Temperature.
      • Current (due to resistive losses/Joule effect as well as Peukert’s law). Specially relevant for lead-acid batteries.

      In day time Sun energy will be directly used to convert electricity. But at night you will need battery to provide electricity. So it needs charging during the day time only. So it will also charge battery along with providing electricity during day time. So that additional charging of battery requires current. That's why it's added to it.

    • @tonya7517
      @tonya7517 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Here 4 no. Of solar panels we are connect parallel so 4*9amp or 4*10amp = 36 amp or 40 amp we will get but our total current needed 55 amp so here battery can charge sufficiently????

    Good presentation.
    As Inverter can't be 100% efficient, DC current required for 350W ac load will be more than 30A.

    • @davidjames1684
      @davidjames1684 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not necessarily. A fully charged lithium battery bank could be close to 13.6V, even under load, so that could be close to 400 watts in, so a 90% efficient inverter (at that load), could indeed power a 350 watt load.

    Thanks for the video, I just need some clarification about backup time. What is backup time and why is it assumed to be 8 hours?

      This was my question as well. It could be hours at night. How long you need the batteries to provide back up. Or Hours of daylight to back up the batteries with the solar panels.

    Thanks for the video . The solar plat power formula is V X I . Where I is the Home load current Plus the Battery Charging current. But what is V ? Is it the Vmax Voltage of the Solar panel or the DC voltage of the Battery. If its one battery system the V shall be 12 and if the Inverter is a 4 battery system then the V shall be 48 Volt. Can please confirm what it to be considered for V.
