Oh my lord I never thought a day in my life I would actually find a snare transcription. I’m copying all of this down in musescore right now. I haven’t even cared to check if it’s downloadable or something I love this show so much I want to place every single note by hand. After wards I’m gonna print the music and use this video to learn the entire show. Thank you for your extreme hard work on this I know how difficult and tedious transcription can be. What a golden video.
I appreciate the kind words, but I can't take credit for the transcription. I respect that you want to put it all into Musescore, but I'm letting you know all credits and a drive full of transcriptions are are the description.
@@TheBANDit_67 Yeah I was incredibly excited and I didn’t read the description. Just printed all of the show and saved myself probably 2 weeks of pointless work. Already got the first page learned. That drive is literally a jackpot for everything drum corps.
@@theunknowndrummer1209 sometimes yes sometimes no. I like the drive more to just chill and look at the music bc I dont have to pause or slow down a video. But once I have something learned the vids are dope fs
I played snare for 2 years in my HS marching band without being able to read music, relied on learning by sight.....now, over 10 years later watching something like this still gives me nightmares but how clean its played makes it so easy to follow along. Snare drum is possibly the most humbling instrument once mastered
Nah drumming is easy the rebound does most of the work. If seen snare drummers get bored once they figured out how to be good at snare. After that they realized being a bassline is more fun as a snare player. Guitar sir .... Guitar is humbling😂😂😂
@@guavaraj1088 It seems like you’ve never done marching percussion at a world-class level. The amount of work it takes to play this level of music this cleanly is astounding. Also, it's a personal preference whether you like snare or bass better.
@@coi6337 nah I choose not to March dci. I had a world class talent line every year I played in dca. I matched 3 seasons of dca and 1 wgi. Lol you far off base with the you've never matched before. World class is fed by dca and the other programs. What do you say now?? Step down off the pedal stool
@@coi6337 I never said playing a world class book was easy 😂😂 I said drumming in general as in. It doesn't take much to get started and when you figure out the rebound with accent tap that gives you all you need. There's more to it but drumming is simple. I can tell you 100 ways to clean a triplet roll lmfao
A little update. After thousands of times watching the same parts over and over. I have finally learned the entire show. Now I'm not clean, but I have the overall rhythms and dynamics down, all I need to perfect it is more reps. My goal is to be able to play the whole show without looking at the music
Oh this is GOLDEN!!!! Coming from the HBCU marching style (Southern University Human Jukebox), I can hear and see the dedication you guys put into this show. Much respect!!!!
Someday I will be able to. But for now, I shall remain a snare in my hs marching band. This looks like fun to play ngl. I think this was the Babylon show and it's sick
I marched with Mylar heads. Okay, okay okay, I'm old. I can imagine that it might be a bit easier with the Kevlar heads and fantastic rebound that you get, to assist with playing and, at the pace that you do. Well done!
Man could someone make a video going over the visuals to this show especially at 10:38 I want to learn so bad so I can play with them and do all of the visuals in the show
Me senior in high school be like lookin at this thinking "oh it's definitely possible" then with the speed being 500 mph me be like "naaahhhhh......" 😝
Hey, man, I went through all of high school on Euphonium while teaching myself, snare on the side! It can be done! Don't get discouraged and keep on the grind!
Seeing the transcription and their feet at the same time, you can see that ltb got the time signatures of m42 and m43 backwards. And the pulse is 3 2 2 2 | 2 2 2
I know this is super late and I could be wrong but I think whoever transcribed this, at 8:27, missed a flam drag off of the left hand on the second triplet in the first measure at A.
Transcription isn't mine, the credits are in the description. The video itself took about 5 hours maybe because I did my best to get the page turns frame perfect
If you're on musescore, get a rest that's equal to 3 beats (dotted 8th, dotted quarter, and so on) and press ctrl + 4 This works for any note duration like 5:3's, 7:3's, and so on. You can even go crazier and make any ratio as long as the initial rest takes up the full duration you want the tuplet to cross.
Same for me, I just keep drilling the 4lets at a low speed though and you get better over time. I just put the metronome to 3/4 and make sure I line up each set of 8 with 1 and a half beats, each set of 16 with a full measure
Thanks man! I'm considering Crown 2018 next since the drive in the description has the full show, but that takes time because I have to find a video to use. I should be able to use any and be protected under free use copyright laws since it's educational, but using a Flo or Vic Firth lot video still feels sketchy.
Fantastic show! That's self explanatory, however, it could have benefited, greatly, with the 2010 ish years of uniform, not so "casual" and more SCV " identity" . Serious show needs a more "serious" uniform to convey the power this show has. IMHO.

You might want to start off learning easier music and working up to this if you’re practicing thousands of times
This show has like the best ballad I've ever heard

Finished the show a few months thanks for transcripts
