So glad to see an original CBS broadcast of a classic National Geographic Society Special on here. Thanks so much for this fantastic upload. I was wondering if you could find some more old National Geographic Society Special uploads one the near future, that would be great.
This program was rerun on HBO in 1983, & later as part of a syndicated group of episodes as "The Best of National Geographic." WTTW aired "The Best of National Geographic" in Chicago, while WOR aired the series in New York City.
1973 was a great year for me in Detroit, Hot Wheels,Lionel,Matchbox Fasttracks, Marx Cape Canaveral Play Sets, Coloring Books ,Superman ,GI Joe Lunch Box,79 cents Fries,Shake and Cheese Burger at Burger Chief,Keds High Top Tennis Shoes,Schwinn Sting Ray riding with my friends to the Park,Playing Baseball, car prizes in Post Alphabet Cereal, Honeycomb hideout, Funny Faces,Goofy Grape, Mr Softy Ice Cream Truck, love the Mercuries and the Commercials. Alot of great things to watch on television back than, no doom and gloom or weird crazy things on television and on the news, Saturday Morning Cartoons,Captain Kangaroo, Sir Grave Ghastly,Creature Feature,Outer Limits,Twilight Zone,Star Trek,Captain James T Kirk William Shatner, 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
This was the 30th NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC SPECIAL for CBS. The series of specials debuted on September 10, 1965. One more would air on April 12, 1973, titled " The Haunted West" before moving to ABC that Fall.
The show was preempted or will not be presented this evening but will return next week at its regular time slot. I was wondering if any of those specials are on DVD?

The last season the National Geographic Specials aired on CBS. They moved to ABC in the fall of 1973 for a couple of years, then to PBS.
Actually, I.I.N.M., it was only on ABC for the 1973-74 season . . . then they moved to PBS.
Fascinating video love this 👍🤠
The minute I saw the sanger harris commercial, i said, "Heyyyy, that's Dallas!"
Narrated by Leslie Neilsen. 😊
Shirley you can’t be serious?
I am serious, and don’t call me Shirley.
Leslie Nielsen was always one of favorite narrators for National Geographic Society Specials, and a great actor as well. R.I.P. Leslie!!!
Best known for Naked Gun.
It's like "Mondo Cane" with disasters and commercials, lol.
But no sex...
I can hear that telephone line audio...miss it...
What do you mean The Waltons will not be presented this evening?
It means that the Waltons will not be presented this evening.

@@FuzzyMemoriesTV Besides, I don't think they would have been as good a lead-in to VALLEY OF THE DOLLS...
My wife will not be happy
Hey, this was narrated by Enrico Pallazzo!
2:24 Is that John Forsythe voicing the Western Electric commercial?
I remember watching this show when it was first broadcast with my dad when I was 8.
The final Western Electric commercial shows manufacturing of resistors not needles.
Well, they looked like needles, but thanks for the description.
Why aint the Waltons on ?
John Boy got drafted and will be in Saigon for the next 9 months.
Operation Mockingbird?
Be safe in Christ God Bless everyone 🙏 John 3: 16 Holy King James Bible verse
That's the least safest place, but appreciate the sentiment.
