The window and windshield glasses are meant to be broken during emergency or accident. Sunfilms may make it unbreakable which is dangerous, car manufacturers should start providing atleast UV cut glass as standard. Atleast Baleno Alpha comes with UV cut glass which is a good move.
Adding to your valid point, appling any additional sticker weight to aging power window motor is extra load. May cause your power window motor to fail
Hi sir, there is something called laminated glass and tempered glass. Usually OEM uses laminated glasses for windscreen and tempered glass for sides and rear. This is for the safety purpose of the passenger during emergency time. A laminated glass(windscreen) is made of 3layers(glass/PU polyurethane/glass) which breaks like tiny crystals during any high impact, the PU layer helps the tiny glasses not to hit the passengers. Like wise for the side glasses. A Sunfilm installed glass is breakable and it is not dangerous. And more over, a tint won’t add much weight while compared to the pressure caused by the glass beading present on both sides of the window glass.

As per the Supreme Court Judgment for Writ Petition (Civil) No.265 of 2011, Para 24.2 pasting of any material, including films of any VLT is NOT PERMITTED on the safety glasses of any vehicle. The above judgement copy is available on the web. On the basis, of this judgement, in 2018 police have asked me to remove the 70% Visible Light Transmission (VLT) film in my car. I don't think that judgement has been over ruled yet. Can somebody clarify this?

Sun films are illegal no matter if it is 50% VLT or 70% VLT. Supreme Court judgement stands as of today. Please do not spread wrong information. If you stand by your content, kindly show the govt order on approving Sun films on Car. Please do not spoil your reputation.

@@Sarathkumar-dn2cd better order duplicate fast tag from the vendor for replacing the old one and then do for windshield. There are options to stick on portable sticker as well for fast tag we can purchase that too.
Visibility is also important. Without visibility driving the car at night can be dangerous.

I am from Bangalore only, sun film banned more than 10 years. Even I have paid 1500rs as fine. Please don't mistake and interpret, when we come to T.N they also do the same, because of my Defence I am managing. Sundaram. From Bangalore.
Same problem , though I am from Hosur I live in Bangalore on work related , I have also paid fine in blore and removed costly tint .
