- I got scammed in the most beautiful place in the world to be scammed by a scammer on a boat! Is this guy the world's first pirate scammer? I kid you not. This scammers scam was to sell fake saffron to people.
Fake Saffron is a being sold across India by scammers at incredibly cheap rates! So I went out to find a scammer in the Indian state where saffron is grown, Jammu & Kashmir, and show you how to identify real and fake saffron.
I found this scammer selling fake saffron on the stunning Dal Lake in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir. Jammu & Kashmir state is one of the highest producers of saffron in the world. He was selling it at ₹90 when the wholesale price is ₹180 and retail price is ₹250 per gram. I'll explain the 3 main tests to identify real saffron: smell, taste, and water.

Fake saffron-which is often colored with red food coloring or other foreign substances -will either lack flavor entirely or have a bitter metallic taste. On the other hand, real saffron will have a strong floral scent and the will have a floral and earthy taste, the kind of flavor you're looking for saffron to impart.

Those who are saying that this guy is showing only the bad sides of India you got to change your whole mindset. You can find many, many, MANY and I mean MANY channels in TH-cam who does show only the good side of India like telling us about the rich culture, history, food, etc. But you will never find a channel like this. This channel is that much rare. And it's not about about showing different "sides" of India. It's about spreading awareness. Foreigners come to our country because they have only seen the good side of India here.
