The Poku pick was fine. A pure upside swing for the first pick of the rebuild and an entertaining tank commander. Not a damaging pick to the franchise in the least.
After Russilo went to summer league a couple years ago he talked about seeing a lottery pick that he already knew was never going to be someone in the league and I remember the speculation being that he was discussing Johnny Davis. He wouldn’t say the players name at the time.
I'm obviously not going to defend the Warriors drafting disaster from 2020/21... and someone like Wiseman probably was never going to work out, but at some point when the team is perpetually stuck at .500 or worse, that Kerr refusing to at any point to slowly increase the roles of any of the young guys, until Kuminga had to vocally come out and ask for more minutes or a trade, was also a massive problem... I feel like if the plan for the first two timeline plan even had a chance at working, there needed to be a coaching/front office plan of slowly increasing the roles of the young guys while fading out vets because there was no scenario where even some young guys would develop if they were being benched/playing the same amount of minutes per game for 2-3 seasons
Wiseman is an especially bad pick because the Timberwolves were interested in trading back and the warriors didn’t agree bc they were taking wiseman no matter what even over Edwards
Which I mean, who wouldn't want an NBA golden retriever who can drop 45+ in the playoffs picked outside the lottery? Sometimes I wonder why they still call this a 76ers pod when it covers the whole league for the most part each episode, then there's this where it's all about maxey and zairie/fultz/ bridges. Then Its understandable this time cuz they have probably the most interesting draft history last 10 or so years

The only reason that Killian Hayes wasn't mentioned or drafted is because Sam is in the pockets of big KOC and was bribed with a tesla.
