A bit complicated but definitely the best way to farm a lot of weapon attack up chips in a short amount of time. What you need to do: 1) Hack the three sub-unit towers 2) Drop down to City Ruins: Cave save point nearby to save your game 3) Try to hack the main tower trigger Devola/Popola scene and farm chips until Popola says "9S! You must hack into the tower! We... we can't hold out like this" - she'll say this roughly 5 minutes in 4) Upon hearing that head back towards the City Ruins: Cave save point nearby and save. Waiting too much longer and Devola and Popola will die, resulting in a joke ending 5) Reload your save and you'll be back at the game state before you try hacking into the main tower 6) Rinse and repeat until you have enough chips (you'll also have a ton of resources to sell for cash if you're leveled up/equipped max item drop rate)
In the last paragraph of your description, you got me confused here. It doesn't make any sense. The wording is off, I know you can fuse non diamonds with diamonds but you will lose the diamond chip if you use this method. What is this method your talking about of retaining the diamond?
On levels 0, 1, 3, 5, and 7 you can fuse the diamond chip of those levels with a non-diamond chip that is 1 carry capacity higher than them and end up with a diamond of the next tier.
You can actually use chips that are +2 and +3 slots over diamond if they are lower level chips. Basically, you will be able to make non diamond chips, but as you fuse them to higher levels it matters a lot less. Like you can still end up with a +6 or +8 diamond chip while still using level 0/level 1 chips that cost 6, 7, or 8 slots. It's complicated to explain in a comment - I'd recommend reading a chip fusing guide because you can actually save a lot of farming by carefully fusing chips instead of only using diamonds and diamond +1 slot chips.
Late comment and all, but enemies found in a special round of one of the DLC's extra arenas/dungeouns are at level 130, they can kill you with one hit. You need all the help you can get and chips (rare/diamond ones) provide that.
can you record yourself doing a full run of this? i didn't quite get the part in the description where it said load a different chapter ever 2-3 runs to avoid a full inventory of chips
ᴇᴅɢᴇ its not a pod program. ive gotten all the program atks and they dont have one like that. it should be pod "b" since pod "a" is bullets and pod "c" is missles. but i also recommend using pod program "wave" since it hits a floor radius which covers a good amount of area
help i destroys some weapon attack up +1 and +2 chips cuz i didnt feel like selling them and now it says my capacity for them is full does this mean i cant ever pic up those chips again PLEASE HELP

The caps for chips are always what the +8 chips are

shockwave chips come from where you first fight adam - where the sex robots were at. just revisit the area.

The max level is 6 now. And you cant exceed the 100% weapon attack up limit.
This is super late but for anyone else that reads, level 8 can be reached by fusing chips with the shopkeeper in the ravine
