I agree that when you get advice you need to take the perspective of that person into account. When you take art instruction go along with whatever that technique may be 100% then after trial and error you decide through experience what aspects to make your own. Great interview wonderful brushwork by Ange! What a wonderful happy and practical outlook as well!

Yay! I love Ange! Great interview! She’s so down to earth and realistic about her practice. Hearing how many different types of income she’s got going on is impressive. It definitely helps to hear all the work it takes to keep a career afloat (in a different way from yours, Jeff). Thank you so much for doing the podcast!

Great work Ange, Most enjoyable to listen and it makes me feel better hearing how many artists have the self doubt phenomenon too....We re not alone

Great artist, great interview. Really appreciate the discussions where you go down the rabbit hole a bit with the career side and the technique side

Ange!! what a fresh breath....Love the work. Listening to you both every week would be jolly good fun-and a good dose of therapy. the artist eye-Glad you point it out to your daughter-that is how I believe it grows. Also, don't often hear about how that eye moves out of the studio and into daily life situations-skewed garbage cans and sunk nails.hilarious! Your son is your teacher Jeff!

Couldnt agree more with your artist vs artis or artist vs gallery thing.. as an artist i have never felt threatened by another artist. These days i think if we collaborate or just support eachother, social media becomes a great tool, its built around sharing and relationship building. If i support an instagram artist, i get followers.

You’ve been talking about the process with applying to galleries. Can you talk about exactly what is that process?

PS. Jeff you sound exactly like me in your self critical ways 😂 I hate being around people looking at my work. Did you grow up in a critical household, out of interest?

I think it’s an artist thing. No, my family was quite complimentary and praising. The only criticism/direction I remember was regarding my behavior, but that’s to be expected. If I believed my mother I would think I was gods gift to the world. 😉. You?

@@theundrapedartist haha well that's awesome to hear. I was, and it seems that critical voice in my head mimics certain people!
