“Pricing starts at $1699 which is pretty insane considering all the premium features this thing packs”. Except the base model has zero premium features aside from fast ram. So yeah… basic ips monitor, i5, integrated graphics, 16gb ram, 512gb storage for $1699 is pretty insane. Also sad.
Pretty sure you won't be able to get it with only integrated graphics.. Base model is 4050 right?
He’s got the configuration options up at at 9:41 and says Intel arc graphics or 4050 so I think base is just internal graphics?
That's "the "this product was sent by Lenovo" catch. Like not mentioning that 49 DBis of noise on a 16' with an Ultra CPU is not great at all.
Yeah, for this price we can get Legion Slim 7 with 4060-4070
@@blondegirl7240 Right? I get that it’s not a gaming laptop but a professional laptop that can game but the base model can’t even do that so you’re paying only for looks. But then why not get a vivobook? Might not quite have the Apple snob appeal but it still looks good and entirely appropriate for professional work. Also $1699 but for this model…
Intel Core i9 13th Gen 13900H 1.9GHz Processor
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 8GB GDDR6
32GB DDR4 RAM
1TB Solid State Drive
Microsoft Windows 11 Home
SD 4.0 Card Reader
2x2 Wi-Fi 6E+Bluetooth 5.0
16" 3.2K OLED 120Hz Display
Slower ram but twice as much. Twice the storage. The faster uhs-II card reader and drastically better specs and screen. Also the 99wh battery. Same price as the Lenovo base model that has basically zero of the features mentioned in this “overview”.
I think you should indicate this is a sponsored video somewhere before the 1:00 minute mark of the video; in the title, at the top of the description
agreed, Should be a lot easier to see.
I didn't even realise it was sponsored as I jumped straight to the bits I was interested in.
Huge red flag tbh.
He starts out saying that he partnered with Lenovo to showcase the laptop 🤔
I think since they have chapters, the people that skip to what they want it is not obvious to them. Think if they had a watermark that it's sponsored by whomever the whole video would be better. Not just HW but every sponsored video. @christhe812

hows the performance difference against the bigger laptop such as legion 5 or 7? would it still perform lower?
No 14 inch model is crazy, hope they bring it back next year.
I hope that they plan to refresh it this year, but a bit later. The model with 13th gen intel CPUs is less than 6 months old

Hello there, I have a 2023 Pro 9i with 4060 on board. I bought it as refurb and having an issue while switching from integrated graphics to 4060. I already tried 2 of those laptops is there some procedure how to switch beteween those GPUs, as when I stop playing Civ V and want to go back to Integrated GPU my screen is flickering and mouse is moving like I have 2 fps.
So, the base model is without RTX GPU?
Great video, thanks. Following your link, it seems Lenovo is still offering both the Yoga and Slim, contrary to your comment they are dropping Slim. Lenovo: You have too many models and variations; give people a break by simplifying the product line, and make more money by not offering so many options >>> Paradox of Choice freezes buyers in their tracks.
how does it looks in competition to the new 16“ dell xps?
All fun and games until the price reveal.
I mean it’s a creator laptop after all, but that really isn’t much of an excuse anyways…
Battery life upgrade is big W. Hopefully* you can charge via Type C like the Legion laptops at 140W.
Yes you can charge via USB C through the Thunderbolt 4 port on the left side which can also be used as DisplayPort 1.4
im excited for my framework 16 that can charge 240w over type c
It is an upgrade compared to the rubbish battery life we got on Intel 13th gen, but compared with AMD and Apple, it is still playing catch up.

the one with a rtx 4070 and 64gb ram and 2gb ssd costs 2400 francs in Switzerland. Frankly, it's not expensive at all the asus g14 with 16gb and rtx 4070 costs the same, and the lenovo has a 120hz miniled screen.

Looks great! Did you have time to check the battery performance? I'm curious: what is the drop in performance when you unplug it from the wall.
curious how this compares to something like the framework 16 i preordered (batch 5)
probly hard to compare because of the option difference with the framework
Hey! Great video. Any idea why Lenovo is only selling the model with the 4060 right now? Can't find this model with the 4070 on their site. Thanks!
It's only in North America. It's available in Europe and Asia.
I'm hoping there was a bit of a mistake with the pricing slide, because $1699 for Arc grapics and 16gb ram with a normal IPS display is really expensive. Even if you mean CAD, that's not a great price.
true at that price just get MacBook which is vastly superior
@@TheMr82kno
For the same price you can get a last year Legion Slim 5 with 4050 and Ryzen 7840HS. Who cares about external look when you can get a better performance with the same price

It’s true. I can confirm. I bought this laptop recently. Disappointed by multiple issues unfortunately
I'm nitpicking here, but isn't the contrast between the keys and the laptop too low, to the point where it's hard to see the keys? I know certain light grey colorways from ASUS are notorious for this, so was wondering if this Lenovo Yoga Pro might have the same issue.
Hey, from the PSREF documentation on Lenovo, there seems to be no option with a glossy touch screen and a 4070 GPU. Which model did you test?
Yes in Korea too, there is no4070 model with glass panel
But can it goto sleep after lod close and not wake up in the background?
does yoga pro 9i 2024 will have 14.5 inch version like last year??
Huh. Might actually go with this now as the WinPC thin laptop of choice. Been looking for four years after holding out with an old work Dell and this seems like the thing I've been looking for to complement my MacBook Air.
I am personally eyeing the new Asus ROG g16. it seems to beat this guy in every category.
@@quantumdot7393 Same mate! Definitely picking the g16 over this. Better 240Hz OLED display 🤤, better build (CNC aluminium) and design with no silly numpad, higher GPU options (up to RTX 4090) and a bigger battery as well in a device that's still thinner and lighter.
@@fidelisitor8953 yea exactly but honestly i wish the g16 had a numpad. it can be useful sometimes and the sides looks so empty without one. overall not a deal breaker. Also a 4090 is not going to be good value i wouldn't go above the 4080
@@fidelisitor8953I agree with everything, but I think lenovo is CNC machined as well, as far as I know(I am no expert) they can’t make the rounded edges with other methods. I have the 14 inch Pro X AMD model and judging by feel, I think it’s CNCed and anodized as well.
@@quantumdot7393 Don't like numpads because they push the main keyboard off to the right which makes it harder to type on and it also looks ugly. As for the 4090, it's still going to be useful for those (like me) that need that extra VRAM for stuff like 3d modelling.

Awesome review! Looking to upgrade my x1 carbon to either this or zephyrus g16. What would be your pick given top specs for yoga and 4070 g16? Any plns to bring these two side by side
The G16 is lighter, thinner, has more battery capacity and a better display if you like to game. Also, the build quality should be better with CNC aluminum
@@matiriquelme293had very good experience with lenovo so far, concerned about asus’ reliability, especially in humid/hot environment and frequent travelling. I agree g16 looks way more superior to pro 9i in almost every aspect, though the screen seams to wobble a lot from what i’ve seen

That battery improvement is AMAZING
Clearly this is a good laptop for developers. So it is interesting to comment on the eye-strain with this 165Hz mini-LED display. Also comment on the CPU temperature and fan noise db, when
a) coding (what is battery life then?)
b) compiling using Visual Studio (battery life)
c) running some numerically intensive code such as Geekbench 6 or Cinebench (battery life)
How its battery life compares with HP Spectre x360 14 inch 2024 (sound and cpu temperature)

@@benji_builder What model had screen issues? And what were the issues? Was it an OLED screen?
The 14" Gen 8 version. It wasn't an oled screen it was the miniLED. In 120hz mode the screen would flicker (when using the intel processor), but connected to a monitor there would be no issues - leading me to believe it was more than a drivers issue. In the US (at the moment at least) you can't get one with the 4070. Best Buy will be selling them, but be sure to read the specs closely, because they often sell models that are slightly different than what's available straight from the manufacturer. Also, Costco sells this, but they're actually selling the 2023 model.

This would the perfect gaming Notebook for me. Because it is very silent. But i think 3,2k is to much for the 4070 with 128 bit und 8gb ram :(. Is the 4070 140 Watts?
It is not silent at all. It’s loud as hell during gaming. Also it discharges battery while gaming. 170w charger is not enough.
Have 2023 model. Bottom made of plactics and always has extra noise when touch the body. Also the sounds craks every time on low volume. Seems because of the plastic bottom. Also had a problem with low perfomance (improved by stopping Nvidei Container service). Screen is so glossy, can't see when sunlight. And the light from the keyboard always reflects on the screen.

16 GB of ram enough for somebody who’s not a power user or need it for work, I had a Lenovo c940 and extended the warranty and had some things replaced on it but they couldn’t replace the battery so now they are giving me this unit for a replacement with ultra 7, 4050 graphics, touch mini led display but only has 16gb of ram, will that be good. What they did is speck it out just like my C940 and they’re going to build it.

Good thing they changed the pricing. You can get a Ultra 7 155H, IPS panel, and RTX40506gb for only about 1482 with 16gb Ram and 512gb storage
I’m hugely looking forward to the second gen of Ultra chips - I never like buying 1st gen products cuz there tend to be large optimization gains in the follow up, even if the chip itself remains virtually unchanged. I just hope the Yoga line stays focused on efficiency and portability at the expense of raw performance - for years, I’ve been wanting a laptop that has performance maybe no better than a 3-4 yr old model, but has put all its improvements into efficiency, so I can get a machine with 100%+ longer battery life that actually lasts all day in the field.
I feel like Intel was promising that for years, and, sure, they did get much more efficient, but they sucked it all up with greater performance, resulting in higher TPDs overall. Im hopeful that with the Ultra line we can actually get some falling TPDs
why are they slowly killing 14" gaming, powerful laptops 😭? i hope there'll still be some good models left few years down the line , when i decide to upgrade .

The issue I had with my computer was it was using roughly using 25 watts at Idle; yet there was nothing running in the background according to Task Manager; except for 'System'.
Well, issue appeared to be the Optimus feature found in Nvidia GPU; where the computer will try to decide whether to use the Nvidia GPU or the Integrated Graphics.
To fix this, this is what I needed to do:
- Open 'Task Manager' (just hit the "Windows Key" and type in "Task Manager" if you're not familiar with this.)
- In the 'Task Manger' app, under the 'Performance Tab' make sure you can see both the Integrated Graphics (usually GPU 0) and the Nvidia Graphics (usually GPU 1). If you see both of those, that is great, and you can skip the rest of this paragraph. If you only see the Nvidia, then a setting in the "Bios" of the system may only have the Nvidia GPU running, which will use way more energy. (To get into your BIOs setting, you usually one will have to continually and Rapidly Pressing the "F2" key while booting back up from Restarting the computer (may have to hold down the 'function key' (also known as the 'FN' key, usually located next to the 'Windows Key'). From there, usually there is an 'Advanced Settings' where you can change the laptop to only use the Nvidia GPU, Auto Adjust, or Optimus. (I have mine set to Auto Adjust)
- If / when you see both the Nvidia and Integrated graphics in Task Manager, likely older Nvidia Drivers didn't properly get written over. To fix this, when downloading new Drivers for the Nvidia GPU (either from Nvidia's Website or via the "GeForce Experience" app on the machine) *** When installing a new Driver, DO NOT select 'Express Installation' when prompted. INSTEAD select 'Custom Installation'. After doing so, hit OK to start the Installation Process. *** When the box show up to install, ***Make sure to check the 'Perform a Clean Installation' box prior to hitting 'Install***'. (This will make sure there is No Residual code remaining from a Previous Driver; for me, this was the 'Fix' for my crappery battery life).
- That should be it. However, I have had still seen battery life degradation even after do as I stated above. It appears that some Nvidia Drivers are just better than others. I've had to revert to slightly older drivers, using the same steps I explained above, before my MUCH, MUCH, MUCH better battery life began to show up.
Good luck.
Hopefully they fixed the trackpad. That ish was sensitive af.
Please make a comparison video between lenovo ultra vs samsung ultra.
