I like how the earth 2 superman figure actually scales well with hush batman than the hush, page punchers or action comics 1000 figures I do hoped they mcfarlane starts reusing the earth 2 superman buck for other design especially a more traditional classic look without the white temples on😊
Just got the classic superman figure that just came out and I’m really hoping the head sculpt will fit on this guy. That would make my favourite superman figure ever
I don’t know. He’s a big figure. About the same size as Cavil. I put the Action Comics 1000 head on him, and it works, but it’s a little small. How does the size of classic Superman’s head compare to 1000?
@@3brothasandashotamilk my earth 2 came in today, and an update, with a shorter neck peg, I used the one from hush superman, the classic superman head looks great on this body. I also heated up the head in hot water to slightly widen it at the jaw
It just needs a flight stand and I think this will be worth it. The cost of a wired cape from online would make it cost the same so it’s all in one. You’re the first person I’ve seen reviewing this Superman figure.
Thanks for watching. It’s a bit pricey, but I kind of see it the way you do. It’s still a good buy compared to Mafex or Figuarts, and like you said buying a good cape online will run you about the same. It should definitely come with a flight stand, that and couple QC issues are my only gripes. I’m happy I have him.
Yes if you believe that which I do with all the tings I have seen that tie it to that but some people see the $40 price tag and they are just gonna have to say it’s wrong and that’s totally fine to say that because it is a lot of money
Thanks for the detailed view of this Superman figure. The body definitely has a classic look, especially the chest emblem which to me has the 1950s George Reeves vibe. I originally passed on this due to the price point. Now that I see yours, I may reconsider and get one.
@@3brothasandashotamilk Nope, it’s all of them. Todd jacked the price up for this wave and cut cost wherever he could. It’s inexcusable for a $40 retail figure that would normally retail for $20 to $25 at most.
@@3brothasandashotamilk They claim it’s because it wasn’t as mass produced as his normal waves and that it was also due to it being store exclusive. However, a fifteen to twenty dollar price hike is unjustified, no matter how you spin it. I opted out of the entire wave initially and then figured I would at least get Superman. And I can’t believe McFarlane and his company had the audacity to pull a freakin’ Hasbro and not even paint the back of the belt. That’s just pure laziness, wrapped in greed.
Wow, I had no idea. The price hike is definitely unjust and crazy. If I wasn’t a massive Superman fan I would’ve passed. I’m not collecting the rest of the wave.
Thank you so much for taking the time to review this one and do comparisons to it! Always wondered how tall it would’ve been. Height is much better, imo, and the mold is definitely a major improvement for McFarlane Superman!
Great review!!! Way too many cost cutting short cuts to charge $40 though. That neck stands out so much. Plus the oversized yellow S. The sloppy yellow paint and lack of paint on the belt. But besides that. The figure has a great new buck. I’m sure this will be the buck used for his Chris Reeve Superman. Of course i still ordered the whole way. Because I’m a sucker. Can’t wait to see what the chase looks like for Superman in this wave though.
I feel you!!!! Way too pricey for what we’re getting, but I couldn’t say no. Hopefully yours doesn’t have my QC issues. I’d be happy if this becomes the new Superman buck. Thanks for watching!!
I swapped the trunks with the Hush Superman and head swapped with the first appearance figure. Turned out solid. Hopefully we'll get an Earth 1 closer to the Hush blue. Great review! Thanks for sharing!
However expensive, Im still going to dump my money into this. I LOVE the vintage look, plus the cape design is silly yet posable. Looks like a great figure so its a pretty obvious pickup, even if McFarlane made weird choices.
I'm also a big superman fan and I'm a little salty that I decided not to get this, not at the $40 range and not even at the $32 range if you get the whole wave. Maybe I would have if this captured what was in that card by capturing what you pointed out; the sweater-like cuffs and the portrait. That face just looks so grumpy and frumpy and it doesn't look heroic to me at all. I was planning on replacing the head with the warworld superman since that had the white hair on the side and looks better. Thanks for the review, I don't feel as bad missing out on this with that unpainted belt and the cuffs looks so short with the unpainted wrists.
