Today, I'm taking a look at the new DC Multiverse Crisis on Infinite Earths Superman of Earth-2 action figure by McFarlane Toys to see if it's worth its hefty $40 price tag (and to try out some head swaps).

Thats a great take on this figure Jason. Love the 0 points for pricing 😆but you are 100%correct. I bought the entire wave and $40 for a figure with so many issues a is a RIPOFF.
I feel your pain! Glad you enjoyed the video
This Superman is actually a lot nicer than I give it credit for. I can’t wait to see the body be reused later on.
I do surprisingly have 4 McFarlane Toys Superman figures and this particular Superman from Crisis on Infinite Earth's may look old but I like him as a good but old badass Kal El especially that head sculpt more than the older dark gritty Kingdom Come Superman, I may not have him but Great review on him Jason.
Thanks Fernando!
3/5 still seems extremely generous honestly
The new sculpted body and wired cape is what saved it for me, but I do see your point
@@5POAFigureReviews I am excited to mess with the new buck for myself and the cape does seems great. I guess I’m still just a little salty about the price and the lack of paint on the back. Also I wish the head sculpt was better
“Rotator Cuff” lmao that got me
Not sure if there is a more technical term for it, but that's what I call it lol
I’m glad I canceled my preorder on this. The body sculpt is really nice but forty five dollars for a figure with a belt that isn’t even painted all the way around is ridiculous. I’m sure they’ll use this body again and hopefully next time they actually paint it.
Agreed! Happy to help.
He’s so close but so far. I don’t like 7 in figures, but the next Superman with this body will probably be a must buy.
2:46 All the days became so long🎶
Lolz'ed hard at the obi-wan kenobi joke 😂😂😂
Thanks lol
Subbed seeing a impression of me in the videos intro hahahaha ❤ love the review man keep it up!
I’m confused there was an impression of you?
@@Rotero769 in the intro lolz!
@@karlmeisterfilms9112 how so?
@@Rotero769 in a funny way though I'd like to play superman someday in figure version which I'll eventually do by the way I mean that's the one superman I'd buy too
I really think this sculpt if the added a sculpted logo, could make a great Kingdom Come Superman
It wouldn't be hard to clip the logo off of World of War Superman and make that custom, but I do totally see them using this body for that
Thanks for this video! I had not expected the desaturated emblem and unfinished belt. I really wanted to see the head swaps!
Happy to help!
this has sooo much potential. i hope that if they reuse this for a classic supes, he keeps the cape.
I really dont like any of these supes faces.. sorry McFarlane. wish there was a way to get the old DC suoer heroes line superman head on these
Great review! They did a much better job painting the belt on your figure than they did with mine. I might put the Earth - 2 Superman head on the Return of Superman figure. Might need a longer neck peg.
I head swapped mine with the first appearance as my go-to. The Hush trunks fit well but they're comparatively a little stiff. Hopefully the future figures with this buck will have the kinks worked out.
Yeah that Action Comics 1 swap really took me by surprise. I love it.
awesome reiveiw 10/10
Thanks!
I will not be succumbing to this wave and keeping my head above water rather than drowning in debt.
I love the wired cape and this is a clean figure. Head swap aye!!!!
Yeah I really fallen in love with wired capes myself
Thank you for listening to my request for the head swap with warworld
You are so welcome! Glad you saw this.
I think you absolutely nailed it. Are we really at the point with mass market retail lines where painting the back of a best is going to break the budget? I have the full wave coming, but I think this one will be hitting eBay. As you suggested, I’ll wait for a better version on this body.
Thanks! Much appreciated
Yayyy 😮 I love the DC videos... Rigamarole done 👍
Thanks!
Thanks for this review, Jason. I was actually on the fence about getting this figure. But now I feel more confident about my decision. Great job 😎👍🏾
Happy to help! That's what it is all about
8:22 that head reminds me of handsome shrek from shrek 2
Ha! I don't even need to click the timestamp to know exactly which one you're talking about lol
I’m getting it
I was curious about this one the most. I know the wired cape was a selling point but I agree that maybe this should've been the buck for a classic Supes. $40 is a ripoff for what you get though, especially if you have no plans on completing the set.
That said, I think this was meant to be a Target exclusive wave first, but they said no.
That's my suspicion as well.
Wait I don't really read many newer comics but why is there two Supermen of earth 2? this one is the one I'm familiar with but the page punchers one is the one that confuses me.
I really do hope this body mold is used for Superman figures going forward. Definitely refreshing from the Infected buck fatigue and it scales pretty well with other JL members.
Oh I'm sure they will
Action Comics #1 Supes' head sculpt on this Earth 2 Supes' body is a perfect combination!
It really is!
where did you see someone make that fleischer superman custom? i’d love to see that
It was in a Facebook group for Custom McFarlane Toys
this in dark blue with the mullet would be perfect for a 90s supes
Yes!!
Really enjoyed the video, was looking forward to your review. Do you think the atomic skull 2 pack Superman head would better match the skin tone on this figure?
It's a bit peachy looking
two points on the Sup Paint!! A little tough but fair.
Sub par paint and the face given the price. If it was a $20 figure I'd have been more lenient
Future's End War World head on Classics body makes me think of "bad guy" Superman from Superman III
Totally agree!
Earth-2 Superman is one of my favorite characters so I had to.
That said, while I'll be on the longterm hunt for a new head, I may be giving him a trunks swap fresh out of packaging.
Painting the back doesn't fix the tiny belt loops. I'm thinking I need to track down another Hush Superman.
I hope you address this wave's issue with unadvertised Platinum variants. Paying $40 for these is unreasonable. But paying $40 for something when they might substitute an item is infuriating.
I think this body sculpt is perfect for superman. I think I'll wait for a darker color variant and new head before getting it.
I am sure there will be plenty!
Do you recommend using the body for a custom Reeves head?
Oh for sure
@@5POAFigureReviews Great, thanks!
Hey could you do a hand swap with the titans Nightwing and the Jim Gordon Batman they use the same body so would the hands fit?
They do and in fact I am going to talk about it and show it off in my 2023 Batman Ranked video
Thank you
Also could you do an arm swap with the Tim Drake gold label and rebirth Batman I seen it on the web and was wondering if it would work without any modifications on the ball joint
all grey hair would kinda pass for Mark Harmon, and if you know that reference, you get a super cookie
You think I don't know Gibbs? Lol
@5POAFigureReviews Gibbs as supes is a underrated casting
I hope that after reviewing this insipid figure you enjoy and rejoice with tdk catwoman. I just got her and oh boy you are gonna love her!!!! Cantv2ait for your next review!!!
I have the Bat Pod version and absolutely adore her. Video should be up Thursday. In the meantime, I have a Batfleck in my belfry.
@@5POAFigureReviews oh yea man!!! Can't wait!! :)
It looks like I need to be a little more patient for a decent Superman 🤞. Quick question for you Jason and chat. Are they going to be re-releasing a Barry Allen Flash??
I have not heard anything about that. But I sure hope so for those who missed out!
I'd just found myself searching for more information on this guy last night, hoping you'd cover him - lo and behold! I think this is their best Superman buck yet, for my liking at least, but that price is too steep for me considering the baffling unpainted belt, among other odds and ends. Instead I'll hope for a sale, or the surely inevitable (Reeves?) reuse.
My timing is nothing if not perfect lol
Superman didn't look to happy with the overall pionts.😂😂😂
Definitely not lol
I think a single cape lands on posability unless a figure includes multiple capes, which makes it a playability factor.
I can see that. And I tend to agree
im still waiting for the bvs batman video that you will upload someday, i wanted to see the headswaps.
Just posted bat Batfleck, but this one is a Versus. Head swap coming later.
@@5POAFigureReviews we dont want a versus, we want headswaps. HAHAHA.
I love this body
Same!
I noticed how the trunks and belt of Brandon Routh's Superman from the 7 inch scale Page Punchers Superman figure match, This Crisis on Infinite Earth's Superman suit, S symbol and trunks give me George Reeves Superman vibes because the symbol matches Reeves suit so McFarlane can try to do a 1950s in color and maybe a non painted George Reeves Superman figure wirh a George Reeves head sculpt but I guess the rights to Reeves is difficult to use on.
I agree, this is very George Reeves!
Page punchers Superman's head looks good on it but the colors are way off.
I was looking forward to Warworld at 7:53, only to find his head was too small. Sigh... Really hope his reuse sometime down the line (that's not Christopher Reeve related) would be the definitive Superman. Fingers crossed.
For sure!
I like the body on this one. I hope it gets reused
I predict we will see it used for a Fleisher Superman at the very least
I think the price is kinda ok, cos if you buy a wired soft goods cape somewhere then you have to fit it yourself, risks involved etc then it's worth it. I used to like buying soft goods and new heads for legends and others..but.. £25 for the figure. £25 each for a new head and cape. £75 so not good for what is basically a figure to have fun with.😬
Fair point!
@@5POAFigureReviews don't get me wrong, I don't enjoy a price hike. But that £70-80 price I'd sometimes pay, though it can be worth it, got to remember they're things to have fun with (for me). So I'd rather spend that kinda cash on other things.🙂👍
For some reasons his joints and pins look humongous. Like he has robot limbs or something. Nicely done cloth cape though.
Cape should be posability.
Thanks for your input!
i like the hight, but the lack of extras, and that price tag is a no for me. I'll wait till this come out as a Flisher superman.
Their is a leak saying we're getting a Super Powers style Fleischer, which gives me hope for a DC Multiverse
He looks like that old actor Robert Ryan.
I'll admit I had to look him up, but wow you're right!
They should use this for Christopher Reeve
Agreed!
It’s too bad the Neca Christopher Reeve head didn’t work. I guess a custom head sculptor would have to do!
There are a lot of customs out there, and they will likely scale better
yup yup, lately at McFarlane toys they do a step forward an 2 backwards😔
Yeah, the ole Texas Two-Step
Do you have the justice lord superman to head swap with this? hard pass on this figure it's perry white's head on superman's body.
Sorry, I do not.
Swear I thought I heard you say "Prices on Infinite Earths" 0:18
Maybe it was a Freudian slip because of how expensive it is lol
I hoped yoy can review the azrael knightsend armor and batman knightfall black and grey or a batman first appearance figures soon jason😊
Preordered and excited for them to arrive. Not sure when though. I think it's supposed to be May
@@5POAFigureReviews I see but do not forget the bvs batfleck too man
Ah we cant evan Pre-order this one here in Sweden😔
That's so sad! Sorry to hear that
I already have almost 50 McFarlane figures and so far I haven't bought a single Superman. In fact, practically every one of them, apart from the one thousand, looks strange, and either they don't have the classic blue shade of the costume or they have really strange torso proportions and a very stylized head. I really hope they release this one with a different paint job and head as a more classic superman. ;/
Same!
Awesome review as always. Don't think the price is worth it maybe it came with more accessories the price would be justified.I think it's a pass.
I'm hoping that belt was Quality Control and not line wide.
I have a terrible feeling it wasn't. Looking at the promo pic of the new Pabe Puncher Val Zod Superman and it looks like they did the same thing with him.
@@5POAFigureReviews 🤦🏻♂️
This buck will make an excellent fodder for a custom. Give it a year and you'll probably see people selling it on Mercari for $12.
Hope you're right! I have ideas.
More like Prices on Infinite Earths... inexcusable to not paint the belt on a $20, let alone a $40 toy.
Ha! Good one
Wow, not even the back
Nope!
Why isn't Kid Flash's actually from the comic?
Great question! I guess with so much of the budget going to new sculpting for Supes, Spectre, and Monitor, they figured they needed to cut corners somewhere. Really disappointing. Especially for the price.
@@5POAFigureReviews I really wanted the wave, but yeah the $40 is out of my price range
Wish this wasn’t $40. The whole wave would’ve been a must buy otherwise. But I had to pass
Yeah, if it's something I could have gotten at normal price and with free shipping or in store, I'd have gladly gotten the whole shebang.
I want that first appearance superman in this body, I need the first appearance superman in this body
It's sooo good
Bit tweak on eyebrows n smile, I see George Reeves there....
I can see it too
I’m gonna wait till they reuse this body for another Superman. I can’t justify it at that price.
Totally understandable!
Mcfarkane keeps shooting himself in the foot.
Aside from dc vs vampires I've literally st my luster on dc multiverse. No thigh cut and that forward hunch is just not chill man
Can't lie the extreme verse on the other hand looks like they got good ab crunch instead of the shitty diaphragm that doesn't actually work
You will be pleasantly surprised when you see Batfleck and Anne Hathaway Catwoman
@@5POAFigureReviews man I sure hope so.
The PROPORTIONS are excellent!! If only McFarlane always did proportions this good. Absolutely love the lack of muscle definition combined with the sculpted creases in trunks etc. Just looks so much more real and appealing. Cape is exceptional! Esp how well it's attached and the fabric used. Painting could have been much better and would love to see this guy with the same sized, but better head sculpt.
Couldn't agree more! I am very excited to see what they do with this guy next. I predict Reeves and Kingdom Come at least
mcfarlane make one good superman challenge - level: impossible
Ha! I like AC1000 and especially the repaint, but they aren't perfect.
$40 bucks and they couldn't paint the belt? And McFarlane still can't figure out an an crunch? Why do I still buy these?
Check out my new Batfleck video. REAL good hunch forward on him.
Positives: best Superman body só far and wired fabric cape.
Negatives: goofy head, very poor paint, and ridiculous price.
Well said
Why does the figure kind look like Richard Nixon
Now I see it I can't unsee it lol
Ugh! Some of these head swaps are silly. XD Most of them are way too small for this body. What I actually wanted to see was if the trunks on Earth 2 Supes would work better on the Classic figure, but that sloppy paint really made me not care as does the fact that the belt isn't painted all the way around. THAT is some bullsh*t! $40 for a Superman, with a cloth cape and you didn't paint the belt all the way around?
Not worth $40 IMO. The head sculpt look more like how Sylvester Stallone looks now. lol
Henry Rollins Superman
I appreciate the 0 score in price, totally deserved
0:22 It’s not.
Is it sad that I don't even need to click on the timestamp to know what question you're answering? Lol
Most McFarlane Superman face sculpts are hideous lol
Sadly, you're not wrong lol
@@5POAFigureReviews but your videos are awesome. Really dig your style
yeah im not getting this
Wait I thought you wasn’t going to buy this 😂😂
I remember saying I wasn't going to buy Hal if he was this expensive, but I honestly didn't recall what I said regarding this wave lol
@@5POAFigureReviews ok and yes you did say that about Hal lol but great video as always brother
Hush Superman is still McFarlane’s best take.
They won’t improve anything as long as people buy these up like cocaine, so people need to vote with their wallets.
That big "S# on that Cape might be part of the design but it looks like a third grader drew it on
Lol yeah it does
The true Crisis is this figure.
Looks incredibly cheap ..the wired cape doesn’t matter if the S symbol isn’t painted well & the belt is only half complete.
The huge pins, the lack of detail musculature, the bad head sculpt.
Not even worth $20 much less the new higher price point.
Should of tried fat long hair supes
Same head as Action Comics 1000 and Rebirth, but with long hair, so if you liked those I am sure it would look good too
8:00 He looks like a washed up Superman impersonator.
$40 for that!? Sh!tty paint and lack of with no accessories. GTF out of here, McFarlane! The fig has the same quality as a $20 fig, which should've been $20 and not $40. Pass on this BS. I give the score 1 out of 5.
MacFarlane toys are trash lol
OK so I think I have figured out the reason why that and the new Ben Affleck Batman both do not have the backs painted probably because they have cloth capes and there’s probably something to do with the paint and it’s probably applied at the same time as the Cape, so it probably would get all over the Cape if they painted the back because they didn’t paint that belt they didn’t paint the back of Ben Affleck Batman, so maybe that’s one reason I don’t know
Interesting theory! I have only filmed Packaging for Affleck and haven't opened him yet, so I didn't know about his belt being the same situation.
$40 for those horrible pins...
Yeah. Though I honestly don't mind them as much as everyone else does.
