Hi, Your boxing is ok for a martial artist, if you want to box like a boxer then concentrate on your footwork 1st. You switch as if you're going to kick. But you need to firstly think weather you want to box like a boxer.
Hey Nat, great video. Your kicks are amazing. I’m a kickboxer who came from shotokan karate and just wanted to give you a tip when you’re sparring. Instead of moving in and out, like a blitz, I suggest moving circularly or at an angle. So for example, every time you jab, you could step in but also out a small bit with your lead leg, or if you’re cornered you could use your lead arm to angle off your opponent by blocking their vision and circularly moving out. Hope this helps! I love your videos!!
You work so much harder than any Martial artist i have seen Respect for your hard work.❤❤❤❤ I'm a Martial artist but I don't even work that hard I only work out and stretch.
Really enjoying your content i think your short form is great but maybe do some more random long form like at a competition (though upload after for saftey) or maybe some of your favourite katas or showing mauy thai conditioning drills
Constructive feedback, as requested. When throwing those lead hand body shots, (9:11) youre leading in a bit with your head. Now, it may be camera angle, but it looks real prime for a solid cross stright to the face. A suggestion would be to obscure the head exposure by firing a cross, then turn into that lead hand body shot. The idea being that you could minimize the window for a counter by not throwing it naked. Good training video!
Boxing looks solid. Of course you can notice the style you do is not rooted in boxing, but you do not really do too much that would be considered wrong. If i would say anything, it is that you should do more head movement and more defensive moves when on the bag. Even tough the bag doesn’t hit back, you should act like it can. Also you shuffle around your hands in the guard, and occasionally drop them low, but these are just bad habits and you should be able to fix them, and they only happen occasionally. (This is before watching the sparring) After the watching the sparring I have some suggestions. You need to improve the footwork. For example when throwing the jab, you sometimes step forward with the lead leggings, without moving the rear and you get put in this really awkward super wide stance. You seem to not be so agile while in this stance, and it is almost like you were standing there waiting to get hit because you had such a hard time to move. This is just 1 example. If you want it could give more, but I won’t bother writing knowing if you would read it. Also when he gets into closer range after backing you up into a corner, you are obviously uncomfortable and want to get out. You even crouch down and do some weird stuff. Instead, i would just suggest clinching. Just clinching up and try to get out while he can’t throw punches.
Ok so I do have some notes on the boxing, you should twist your hand more on the jab (thumb should point slightly down), I recently started doing this because I worked with a high level boxer who suggested it. Now my jab is hard and my shoulder is raised during because of this. Also, fully extend the cross to the head. Make sure your weight is going into it. Lead hook looks pretty damn good and so does the uppercut. Kicks are phenomenal.
Hey Nat. Hope you are well. I am by no means an authority on boxing but I do have about 6 months Muay Thai (Thai Boxing) experience and also come from a traditional background (Taekwondo). Noticing a couple of the mistakes which I did (and still do) make, which you can work on: 1. Pick a guard and stick to it: when punching always keep your hand tight to your head and don't lower your hands before you punch 2. When throwing a cross / overhand, try not to bend your knee as much, but twist through the ball of your foot and your hips for power instead 3. To minimise risk of a concussion keep your chin down so your opponent doesn't catch you on the jaw but rather on the forehead (good for your brain and bad for their knuckles) 4. When throwing the body jab (great technique btw) try and slip instead of ducking so your power goes forward 5. Play around with multiple forms of defense (head movement, parrying, long guard, high guard, ect) Thanks for the awesome content and good luck. :)
Tip for boxing Nat when you throw a punch in both training and sparring keep your hands up cus its easier to block punches and it will help you get good counter strikes aswell
When I was learning to box after having done karate what helped me the most was slowly adjusting my stances. I started with arms lower and focusing on the legs/footwork and keeping my head moving. Then I steadily raised the hands. You do well enough that if you get everything but the arms down first the arms will get there.
My Taekwondo instructor combines boxing with our kicking combos. Having also recently started, Shotokan, I can see how the stances may seem a bit restrictive. But, as with Taekwondo, it's possible to incorporate a few combos into karate.
Skipping is amazing, it helps you wake up and get into your rhythm. It looks like he started with Middle Split, then Frog Pose, Cossack type.. stretch, Hammy stretch, hell yeah
When throwing your jabs sometimes your right elbow picks up exposing your body, you can practice keeping a tighter guard by holding a towel or shirt to your body with your elbow
mate, your kicks are a work of art. If i have seen anything wrong with your boxing, is that you should pop that jab more, youre using it merely as a range_finder. try taking it back just as fast as you threw it. then it will burn the opponents face. Also, if you wanna put more power in it, jab as you step with your lead leg, think of it like the end of a stiff blunt stick. Apart from that, you have good boxing, and are very unpredictable, it would be pretty awkaward tp fight you. Cheers and sorry for the bad english.
You should do some more calisthenics videos Nat, I can see the gravity weight vest (I've got the same one), do you use it for just push ups and squats?

yo nat i noticed in your boxing segment, after you threw a combination you kick that lead leg back, causing a bit of a pattern, combination > step back with the lead foot > step back in with it along with a strike 4:36
A big difference in karate and boxing is the footwork In boxing the foot fully twist and are unguarded and loose In karate we have to check out not getting sweep or calf kick where as in boxing you have no fear of being hit in leg or falling
If you hate stretching doing yoga a little to focus on breathing while stretching can help make it less annoying and get you deeper and that stuff its rlly cool
Throw two jabs then an overhook then step back....if you wanna keep going then try to pretend duck over a long rope then throw a vicious right/left hook whichever you feel comfortable with
also, you have the same style as i do, bouncing in and out. This wimm make your opponent used to it. When he does, wait a little longer than you would when you enter range to punch, this usually caughts them off guard. Cheers!
Last summer I tried to train my hamstrings but when I stretched I stood wider so I didnt stand straight because I copied my fencing coach. But when I downloaded your program I was able to reach my toes after 2nd week. Today im on my 12th week and I can reach my heels without any issues. I can also do a axe kick very good.
I'm no professional, but here's some things I've seen professional boxers do: 1. The hands ALWAYS stay up, you have to keep a constant guard. 2. Change angles frequently (you can do this on the bag & in sparring). Changing angles can give you a tactical advantage; more openings, and it also can give you extra momentum in your punches if done right. Try snapping to another side of the bag/your opponent and attacking from there. Like I said, I'm no professional, but I hope I was helpful 👍
The only critique I have on the boxing is something that I've had to learn recently as well. Head movement is great but if you don't move your whole body as well your gonna get caught. Other then that your doing really well man. Keep up the good work.
@@AweirdThingwt i hope you see this man i want to start because i want to learn how to fight but im scared to fight even sparing. How did you handle it?
@@amer_mradscared to spar ?? Then martial arts isn’t for you I’ve started mma and when I joined all I wanted them to say was get me in the ring with someone don’t ever be scared to spar because they see how good you are they will tell everyone about you your name will become big and that’s how you end up in the ufc
When boxing i think you should squat whaen you need to dodge or counter attack cause it gets you in a really awkward position sometimes, so yea thats about it
my boxing coach used to use a ridge hand strike for his hook, and it was longer, also try to punch from your forearms, kinda like a cat, and when you throw your punches act like your are rowing, kinda like those cat statues you’d see in a chinese food place. I hope you understand what i am trying to say😂 my boxing coach did karate before boxing and he mixed a lot of his karate into the boxing, also after you throw your punches throw a jab after, don’t get used to throwing two punches and stopping, i know we use legs elbows and knees too however for you hands make combos and end them with a jab or double jab after
My constructive criticism (kickboxer, not boxer) Whenever you jab with your lead hand, your backhand drops below the chin. A opponent like you would blow your brain out with a head kick when you miss your front jab. Stay tight stay defensive (at least for kickboxing)
You’re boxing technique isn’t bad at all imo, just when you’re sparring you revert back to what you know, and don’t let your hands flow and close the distance, but no one could heavily criticise your technique at all
I hate skipping, but I cant deny it's good for you Also you probably know this already know/do this, but when your punching look down through your eyebrows and move your shoulder up to or around your ear, doing this means that your are at less risk of hooks ,because of your shoulder placement, and your opposite hand shields the other side of your face which puts you only at risk of uppercuts, but people don't generally throw many uppercuts (touch wood). Also congrats on 900k soon at that million

Best martial arts content creator..... Never skip leg day.🙃
Thank you👊👊and yes never hahah
So it wasn't the wind in those karate/kung-fu movies
Great vid
Thank you👊
Man you're fast ⏩ and I don't know why people in the comment section trying to teach you 😂 they haven't tried it either
I hope you understand what i am trying to say😂 my boxing coach did karate before boxing and he mixed a lot of his karate into the boxing, also after you throw your punches throw a jab after, don’t get used to throwing two punches and stopping, i know we use legs elbows and knees too however for you hands make combos and end them with a jab or double jab after
Thanks for the advice, I get what you’re saying👍
Hey, i just have a question: Where do you train? Like, do you have a dojo or that's a room at your home/apartment? Love your vids bro 👊
Me encanta tus videos.

Thank you bro appreciate that👊
Great video and you should do more videos with your brother in ❤
Will do for sure👍👊
Generally speaking when punching for power you should aim to punch through your target. Also your stance will change how most punches feel.
Long form video suggestion: your next competition sum up
The Dojo Tour that everyone asks for in the comment section 7:08 🤩
Thought I’d add it in🤣
My constructive criticism (kickboxer, not boxer)
Whenever you jab with your lead hand, your backhand drops below the chin.
A opponent like you would blow your brain out with a head kick when you miss your front jab. Stay tight stay defensive (at least for kickboxing)
Thanks for the tip👍I’ll take that on board
Dude until you punched that bag I swore it was a green screen you weee in front of
You’re boxing technique isn’t bad at all imo, just when you’re sparring you revert back to what you know, and don’t let your hands flow and close the distance, but no one could heavily criticise your technique at all
Kicking is always more fun than punching
I train hamstrings everyday. 3 - 5 sets of 90 seconds. Hamstrings is my favorite because their easy to stretch where ever.
nice vid bro
I hate skipping, but I cant deny it's good for you
Also you probably know this already know/do this, but when your punching look down through your eyebrows and move your shoulder up to or around your ear, doing this means that your are at less risk of hooks ,because of your shoulder placement, and your opposite hand shields the other side of your face which puts you only at risk of uppercuts, but people don't generally throw many uppercuts (touch wood).
Also congrats on 900k soon at that million
Thank you for the tip man👍and hopefully soon :)
