hi! first of thanks a lot for making this kind of amazing and helpful content for us. I need to one thing. it's like pasting 3 types of code into 3 section and the last one I mean the code Theme DataLayer Code", you said on the video that this code have to place on body section but on the blog you have written that this "Theme DataLayer Code has to place on below section". so could you please clear this confusion ? I mean should I insert this "Theme DataLayer Code" on head or body section on theme. liquid???
Hi. Nice catch. The code works fine in head and body both. In head, it's like a priority, to make sure the code always fire. On body, there can be some edge cases where the might not work for example if some component didn't render etc. So both options are fine. I like head section
Thank you once again for providing this excellent tutorial. I have one minor observation to share. In the code section, there seems to be an incomplete snippet for the Head-datalayer. Additionally, I noticed a minor error where the Product-datalayer snippet file name differs from the one provided in your code.
Thanks for sharing! I have re-checked. The head-dataLayer code is complete, since it only needs to render the datalayer-product file. And the naming convention is a good one. I cannot unfortunately fixed it, thanks for pointing it out. however i will a comment that can help other viewers in future, videos
I always wait for a new video, it's amazing content could I ask a question? Why do you collect and store customer information, including their ID? This information can be used for targeted advertising on platforms like Google and Facebook. What are the benefits of using this data?
That is a nice question, most Ad-Platforms such as FB, Google, etc. have customer profiles, and sending user data back to them can help with better attribution. Also sometimes, the adcookies, Such as fbclid, or gclid gets blocked from the browser, in that case, user's data such as email etc, helps with attribution too.
@@TrackingAcademy thanks a lot, this really helps me could you provide an advanced GTM course or session? I am really excited to learn from experience someone like you I always wait for your new videos and apply what you says
Hey, I have re-checked and the code snippets are on the blogpost. If you will go to the blog, scroll down to about 50%, you will see a section where a google signup is required. All the best.
