Come on Bradford, save this iconic building and restore it to its former glory! I remember seeing all the great movies as a kid and teenager at the Odeon, the place had charecter way beyond any of your multiplexes today.Ok , realise that it may not stay as a cinema but surely we can restore and use this building in other ways.

I'm not familiar with Bradford but this has the potential to be a fine flagship building for the city as it was back in the 1930s and the fact they are pissing it away really irks me. The plasterwork details on the restaurant ceilings and alcove are really well worked and the ballroom looks great too .
Great to discover this once palace of entertainment from days of old. I remember this cinema well before Odeon ruined it by twinning and then adding a third screen in its once fine ballroom . This grand building is worth saving at all cost and it's previous owners Odeon should never be forgiven for its part in destroying it for greed and profit. I hope one day to return here and see it great glory again like I once remember it.!
If you want to keep this beautiful building standing, now is the time to act. The council have plans for two more retail monoliths to add to the Jury's Inn and guess where they are located? There's a model of steel and glass in town hall where the Odeon should be.
I thought for a while that the council's desire to demolish the Odeon was misguided. I believe now that it's abuse of power and corruption, and that the demolition would make some people some money. Even Private Eye magazine have featured it twice. It's a beautiful building and should be preserved. Bradford Council's track record on the city centre is appalling - going back to the 60s and 70s even. they should be held accountable. IT'S OUR CITY!!! oo I'm so angry.
It could be magnficent. Needs saving and using properly as a venue that is better than anything anywhere near. Have some ******* vision for once Bradford.
I hope they don't turn iy into a mosque. It would be great to see it back to how it was. I am a photographer who loves to see these buildings in their full glory. Great work

Galloway - Abolish demolition plans now & restore & regenerate this iconic building. Hope - It can be retained & returned to its former glory.Hussain - NO APPARENT VIEW. Islam - It should be redesigned & regenerated. McNally - It's up to the people to decide. Sunderland - Demolish it or retain the towers. Whiteley - NO APPARENT VIEW. Use your vote wisely please.
to let this building go to rack and ruin is a travesty of justice it is a beautiful example of 1930s art deco architecture and it would be a complete shame not to renovate it
It needs to be restored to as it was when first built, a concert hall! In line with St Georges Hall, we have plen ty of parking in the area, and plenty of Bradfordians would pay to stay in the city to watch someone rather than travellig down to Manchester or Sheffield.

Damn the Bradford Council for wanting to destroy this magnificent building...Stop wasting money on stupid things and keep this building, restore it and make it profitable, use your imagination for once, take it back to its original format it would be great to have the class from the early years and to show it off to our grandchildren etc.

What was the response from the Overview & Scrutiny Committee? I would guess one of total indifference if it is anything like Calderdale's.
