This brings back so many wonderful memories. It was one of the most original and best channels originating in Canada, for sure. Some days I miss cable / satellite tv, before streaming services and online viewings, not often, but the love is still there.
So you made the little monsters? I love the idea of using secondary colors instead of primaries that are already so often associated with children's stuff, since ytv keeps it weird. Very clever!
The logo at the beginning really shocked me by surprise. Also, the kid who got pulled in the YTV Blue Bus sorta reminds me of The Blonde Kid who threw the Y like a Boomerang.
Watched YTV religiously in 93 and don't remember any of them. Maybe the 1st cow one, but vaguely. I remember the lizard and bug IDs when they were used for later stuff.
Howard "Jack" Cogan: "You're watching YTV: Youthful Television, the only kids and teens channel in Canada that can really go all Sid & Marty Krofft................whoever they are."
I STILL can't figure out what that kid says when he plops down that bun! It sound like, "Whoa what a sandwich." but not quite. Maybe it's supposed to be gibberish? Anyway I forgot about it and now it's going to bug me all these years later!
I wonder if these IDs even made it to air. One thing I notice is there’s no head-switch pattern at the bottom of the picture, likely indicating that this was copied from a professional Betacam tape rather than a consumer VHS or Betamax tape. I can see why some of there were scrapped as many may be too bizarre (like the farm animals) or too creepy (like the ones with black backgrounds). The bus logo looks pretty cool though, and wish it did get some notable airtime.
You're definitely onto something. This is probably a ID reel from either someone from YTV or, if they weren't produced in-house, from someone who worked at the studio that produced them.
@@okjeffy6581don’t think that was a problem. The reason why those two have long endings is cause they are filler bumpers. Since YTV has less commercials than most TV networks, this can leave some shows too short in their time-slot. Thus, the network has created a lot of filler bumpers over the years that can be cut off at any moment in order to fill in the unused ad slots. I remember they often did this a lot where bumpers would sometime stretch on for over a minute waiting for the next show to start.

0:24 That red lizard there acting like a dog is funny.😂
I would think that a couple of these IDs were never actually used on-air.
So basically, it was basically Canada's own Nickelodeon back then

Or maybe because the Rubber Ducky and Bug took too long to end.

Most of the CGI IDs are rather odd.
