I was hoping seltas would get a deviant called the Queen Eater Seltas. It would act more like a Seltas Queen rather than a normal Seltas, even going as far as to eat seltas queens for sustenance.

I know that this is a rather old video (and a game that people rarely play anymore because of MHW and MHR coming up), but I noticed that people tend to complain about the Redhelm Arzuros' armor having skills that don't work together. The armor's use is a bit specific.
The skills are: Constitution +2, Defense Up (S), Focus, and Resentment.
This set is best used alongside the charge blade, focusing on guarding (but not adept, since adept guarding makes you avoid damage). Resentment increases your attack while you have recoverable HP (a red portion on your health bar). Constitution gives you more leeway in guarding a lot of monster attacks, and Focus increases the rate at which the Charge Blade charges its phials. Basically, I've found that it's geared towards a more defensive play style with the Charge Blade that doesn't completely sacrifice damage for defense. I've tested it with Striker Charge Blade (with Castle Walls, Energy Blade and Limit Breaker), and it wasn't half bad actually.
For anyone playing online. Here is a fairly easy to make mix set.

Status 6, 3 Slots or 1 Slot if you use your weapon Slots.
With the right decorations you'll get:

For those that didn't talk to everyone, like I did, and need the ingredients of legend quest the Itinerant Cook is in Pokke village next to the fruit stand so if he's not there for you, then do some early game requests for Pokke village(1 star, 2 star 3 star) until he appears. Talk to him and he will unlock the quest for you. I hope this helps. (I don't know his exact trigger so my apologies for any misconceptions or if he shows up sooner than 3 star requests) For myself personally I only did the Pokke Chief's requests and then i saw this video went around talking to everyone and then I found him in Pokke village. So I believe its safe to assume you only have to do the pokke village chief requests along with story progression to trigger the cook.

And deviant Astalos with Red Lightning alongside possibly a Male Gammoth(Fun fact, the Gammoth's we fight in-game are all female and the males are apparently supposed to be tougher than the females meaning a male Gammoth,would make a perfect deviant).
+Adam Stewart I dunno if that really fits as its more of a black diablos thing, plus the deviants are all monsters who've survived being hunted and have adapted to fighting hunters.
I remember seeing concept art of a male Gammoth and it looked brutal as fuck!!! That's why I think he should be a deviant.
That very same thing could apply to a male Gammoth as they may have faced hunters who tried to harm their calves.

how did you unlock like what village quests did you do before hand
Gx Dude I'm not sure, I think that the clients appear after you reach a certain # of Village Points. I did the quest but it didn't get me access to buying the Variant, so I think that I'm not far enough in the game's single player campaign yet to even use it.

I beat from beyond the sands to get hellblade glavenus :/ I don't think it matters which quest you do as long as you hunt the monster
I was hoping for a deviant Lagiacrus or Brachydios... but at least we have Tigrex and Zinogre.

Did you know that if you have a plus 3 talisman of a deviant skill, all you need is the leg, waist, and hand to get the skill leaving room to make a custom deviant armor set. ive crammed drilltusk, tenderizer, survivor, and critical eye plus 2 in one set. can switch critical eye for guard plus 2 as well.
I have a plus three dreadking... just realizing how old this is.

Yo Arekkz, I recently asked what kind of 3ds I should get, but another thing I would like to know is how exactly does multiplayer work? Do you have to be close to each other to play, do you have to be friends and is there an easy way of finding people to play with? I'm usually someone who does stuff alone, but if a Deviant monster is too hard to do on my one I'll have to look for other people since none of my friends even have a DS.
You don't necessarily have to be close to people to play multiplayer. You just need an online connection. You can either host a Hunter's Hub (the multiplayer lobby of Gen), search for one to join anywhere in the world, or poke around your Friends List and join one of their hubs. You can also enter a 14-digit Hub ID number that allows you to join one specific hub someone else is hosting, which is good if you don't have someone in your Friends List that you'd like to play with.
With Hubs, people can specify what they're doing through Hub Settings, like what monster they're hunting or what quests they want using preset messages on the hub itself. Example: Snowbaron Lagombi, "Hunting Deviant Monsters!", "Farming one monster", "Looking for experts!"
And yes, though some Deviants are more doable than others alone (such as Snowbaron), the rest are balls-to-the-wall absurd unless you have a good team.

Is there a Hub Quest list online somewhere that lists what it unlocks for each quest of the hub? Or are deviant monster unlocks and the key quests the only thing that unlock something? I complete everything of the village quests but don't want to do unnecessary hub gathering quests that don't unlock anything.
When do you gain access to the tickets? I've done the quests for the HR 1 Deviants, but I can't buy permits, the option is just greyed out.
How do you unlock the trader?
So the Ingredient of Legend quest won't show up for me. What are the village quests you need to complete to unlock it? I already did the Roughback one with the Bulldrome, but it still won't pop up. Any advice?

Naa, it's just another group of top tier high rank gear. These can be used as end game sets, just as much as upgraded high rank gear.

You have to fulfill the requests of people from Pokke, like the Popo tongue quest that introduces Gammoth.

ok so each weapon has a specific level that you can upgrade and each weapon has an alternative that you can change it into at a certain kevel (e.g. the petrified saber can turn into the lagombi plastronat lv 3). also to get some of the better upgrades you may have to give up another material along with another material of different categories like ores and insects where you have to add so many of them until it makes up a number.the better the gear,the higher the number. you should get it after a few attempts at it but if you don't,refer back to me. happy hunting ☺
that 1 LAD I meant the armor sets. Is it just like the weapons where you can keep on upgrading them and transform it into a Higher rank armor or not? But thanks for the reply bro. This part still confuses me. :(
+Najibar Mazo oh sorry,armor is the same for the weapons except they can't change into any alternatives. all armor can be levelled up to lv 10 and def gets increased but it's generally not worth it to do so unless the skills on the armor are amazing.
+that 1 LAD Damn I've been lvling my armors like crazy cause I thought it would be upgraded. Haha guess it's time for an upgrade. Lol
as far as i know, armor doesn't evolve. it levels up with spheres, but it eventually maxes out and doesn't change. armor spheres can occasionally be mined or received from quest rewards, and every few levels, the sphere you need will change. there are advanced armor sets for most monsters that offer better stats than the low tier variant, but they are considered separate gear that must be crafted.

Hi Arekkz! Great video and very informative. I have some questions which I cant seem to find the answer to through googling. So first question is why cant I see the quest "Emperor of Flames"? I am currently HR 4 online and HR2 in village quest. Another question is how does one increase their HR to 35 or 50?
The answer to your rank question is that after high rank 7 your will break. That means that you can go above 7 so after that the more u do quest the higher it will get. In simpler terms just keep on playing.

I don't understand why you unlock the first 3 deviants at HR2, do they expect you to be able to beat them at that point?
The first 3 are actually doable that early on - the first 1-3 levels are considered 'low rank'. They're tough, but doable!

No relic armor.That was introduced in 4 and is currently exclusive to 4.
I find more challenge in lv 4 Dreadking Rathalos than in lv 116 dual Rajang

is dreadking the same as black flame lord rathalos?
I believe that Dread King is the name of the gear and armour you make from Deviant Rathalos. For whatever reason, they decided to name the gear different to the monsters, so I understand your confusion. Hope that helps!

What deviant set would you recommend for a aerial Dual Blades user?
I think the snow baron lagombi set is made for aerial.
Snowbaron Lagombi is made for Aerial style
Or the Deviant Nargacuga Set, has great skills and also evade distance up
Yh, but Snowlord beats it because of Vault, which powers up your aerial attacks. U honestly don't need evasion skills.
Narga is still better when we talk about damage... also vault is easy to get, i have a +4 Vault OOO Charm so i can get Vault +10 on the Narga Set
ive done the shells of steel quest, but it didnt unlock the deviant quest yet, same goes for deviant tetsucabra for me

It will take some time and their will be allot of challenges, but yea it is. Also if your trying to solo Mh Gen then that is one of the easier games in the series so it is defiantly possible there (and by the way the deviant monsters mentioned in this video aren't that bad, especially in other games their are greater challenges and by the the time you face them you'll be able to handle them with some ease).

Ok maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I've completed all the village quests very easily (including s. magala and The Fated Four), then I tried the red helm arzuros I with a couple of friends and that thing literally oneshotted me with almost every attack. Am I missing something? Should I get high rank armors before clearing the deviants? Am I supposed to fight him without being touched? Please send help...
you will need high rank armor, or atleast a set that has 400+ defense if you want to stand a chance. especially with silverwind narga because his tail attacks shoot lasers the lasers cause bleeding.

i beat redhelm with mizutsune (level 4) and dinovaldo (glavenus) longsword lvl 2, he's just really aggresive, so i used traps and mounts and try not to be too aggresive to him while he's attacking or in rage

Did you try accepting it yourself? Like, be the guy that walks to the guild gal, takes the quest and the others have to run to the clipboard to get the quest?
Oh and don't forget- you have to do the guild quest not the village quest.

+Zed devient monsters are only in mh gen deviant monsters arent in earlier games? if you mean sub species then yes theres a green plesioth (watery satan) but deviants arent actually subspecies just normal monsters that are basically on steroids
I'm sad that Lagiacrus didn't get a deviant form, all the other flagship monsters (from previous games) got one.

Do it again. For some stupid reason, that quest unlocks a quest by the same name but the 2nd one unlocks silverwind.

It's an item pack that give you loads of potions and other awesome supplies as well as stuff to make a special Palico/prowler armour. The suit in question makes it look like a tigrex, this has two "stages". One using regular scraps and one needing hyper tigrex scraps.
