    It is God Tier watch.. If u dont know what a Casio 5610 is then u must learn of the Gem u get for such impossibly small amount.. Most radio controlled watches go for at least 300, let alone 200m water, solar power, day, date, alarm, stopwatch, world time.. Just perfect.

    These watches receive the signal better if there is a radio amplifier inside the strap, such as your wrist, or a metal cylinder or bar. I noticed if I didn’t put the watch in my upstairs window, it wouldn’t update. But if I wore it at night, my arm would amplify the signal. Also placing the watch around a piece of metal such as a weight dumbbell bar or a bicycle handle will do the same.

    Although long buttons are usually easy to press, they can make a watch look cheap all the time. Therefore, I prefer short buttons, especially since I don't use them daily. So, the GW-M5610U is a good choice for me.

  • @ImTheDudeMan471

    1)I agree about the GW-5600 upper left button. I was frustrated with it. I cut the rubber off below the button with a thin knife blade. Now I can use this button. 2)I used a black "Sharpie" permanent marker to color over the white G-Shock & Protection text. I pushed the felt tip of the marker into the recessed text to black it out. Now it looks a little more stealth. 3)For me, the Month/Date works better for me as I create computer files all day long. It follows the Year/Month/Date format if you want to find which file is the newest.

    Got the same module on the GW5000U. For me it's the perfect module for a digital watch. Casio do make square g-shocks with better and easy to use buttons: the all stainless steel squares or the ones that are have a stainless steel bezel (GM5600)

    Nice review. At 7:50: the M/DD, DD/M switch is part of the "U" update, This was not possible on the previous, "non-U" model. Most square G-Shocks have 4 mm buttons. Metal G-Shocks, like the GMW-B5000D have 5 mm buttons, which are a little easier to press Many non square G-Shocks, like the GW-9400, have even larger 7+ mm, easier to press buttons.

    The bottoms are recessed so you don't keep pushing them by accident. It was actually a huge problem for me on my SGW100-1V.
    I now own a DW-5600E-1VER and it is just PERFECT for me. Real simple with stopwatch - timer - alarm - auto. And I never press the bottoms by accident. 👌

    I think you would've really liked the negative display even better than the positive, especially if you're a big fan of the DW5600BB. I never thought I would say that I liked the 5610 negative over the 5600BB, but after wearing the 5610 for one year, I will never go back.

      5600bb is the cool one, negative is ok on the cool one. But 5610 for me is a functional work horse of a watch, so negative display would compromise 5610 for me at least.

    I’ll always have a soft spot for the AE1200. That watch is literally the best watch you can buy at that price imo. However the GWM5610 is probably the best watch you can get if you want reliability, functionality and value. Far more durable than the AE1200.
    Sure there are smart watches. Garmin makes some killer watches. But they are not worry-free. Expensive, still need to recharge. Apple Watch…constantly spamming you with notifications, have to charge it constantly, you’ll cry if it gets stolen.
    This is the go-to watch if you just want timekeeping and a few functions that will never fail you. I use my phone for the rest.

  • @Vinito
    @Vinito 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    This watch has 200m water resistance written on it, those buttons are hard to press so the watch can also resist 20bar water pressure, that’s why the regular Casio has easier buttons but less water resistance. I believe this is the best g shock i have 4 of them already different versions and colors, they’re amazing especially for smaller wrists.

  • @damyr
    @damyr ปีที่แล้ว +4

    - Mine GW-B5600 is better! It's the same watch, but it has Bluetooth. I don't use it, but hey, it has it. :)
    - Buttons are intentionally recessed, to make them more protected from possible damage. So, it's rather a feature, not a bug. Tho, I'm sure they could make them a bit more crisp to touch, like they did with more expensive, metal G-shocks.
    - There's a shortcut to change one of 5 world times into a home time. When in the WT menu, just push both upper buttons in the same time and they will swap places. It's a useful tip for frequent travelers.
    - All in all, looking at its durability and functions, but also its light weight and sleekness, it's literally the best and the most versatile watch in the world. So, I think it automatically deserves to be in the god tier (regardless of recessed buttons). :p

    • @TomasWatchReviews
      @TomasWatchReviews  ปีที่แล้ว

      well, about versatility.. Buttons are rather annoying if you wanna use this watch in some kind of fitness activity with shaky hands and numb fingers, what defies the purpose of a sports watch in general.. Also, it is a sports watch by look, which narrows down possible outfits for this watch. So neither very sporty, nor fits many outfits very well. Just has many functions, is the most durable thing known to man and is a true future proof icon in the watch world.

    • @damyr
      @damyr ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TomasWatchReviews Nah, I've already worn the watch with the suit. It goes under the cuff and it doesn't look too crazy. ;)
      But I guess, the thing with buttons can be annoying, especially when wearing gloves.
      But I'd still put it in the god tier.

    • @damyr
      @damyr ปีที่แล้ว

      @@matejsvigir1449 It depends of a model. And you're speaking about domed acrylic crystal, I presume.
      Acrylic crystal should rather be depressed into the case, to be harder to scratch it.
      On the other hand, many watches in the past (old, vintage models) used a domed acrylic crystal, which gave them a special look, when looking at them from a lower angle. Therefore, in some models, a domed acrylic crystal gives them that additional vintage charm.
      But I'd definitely avoid digital watches with a domed acrylic crystal.

    Maybe Casio doesn't add more prominent buttons because that then decreases the shock resistance. As you know for Gshock, the Gshock fans take it through lot of hard tests and expect it to survive. This may not be possible if buttons are big.
    The Gshock brand has received so much confidence in it's sturdiness from public at large, so much so that they can't take any risks....

    • @TomasWatchReviews
      @TomasWatchReviews  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      one would break their arm sooner than those buttons on that simple Casio.

    • @mx3wg
      @mx3wg ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TomasWatchReviews indeed but people just throw gshocks under trucks, boil them in water, make their dogs chew, tie to a bomb etc. All of this they do without wearing them in their arm.
      The Gshock still survives. That level of ruggedness might require the buttons to be smaller 😃

  • @matheusdutrademoura
    @matheusdutrademoura ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I have the G-5600UE-1, which has the exact same functions but not the atomic one (since I'm from Brazil, it doesn't really matter because it wouldn't work here).
    - The problem with auto backlight is that it totally drains your battery, even though the light is not on at all. Looks like it is draining your battery to keep that functionality activated and constantly "reading" the watch position.
    - Buttons indeed are so annoying that I just stoped wearing it to go to the gym. I'm using other regular Casios for that.
    - Another thing I don't like are the bumps inside the strap, you know? They hurt my wrist so bad in a short period of time wearing the watch. =/
    - No, you couldn't swap month and date in previous model. That's a nice touch indeed.
    - Another bad thing is the alarm volume. You can barely hear it if you are walking on a normal noisy city street.
    - I still prefer F-91 lol

    • @TomasWatchReviews
      @TomasWatchReviews  ปีที่แล้ว

      me too. But I am also starting to like lf-20w more and more, has become my daily. Feels almost like f91, has the same vibe, but also has timer.

    • @damyr
      @damyr ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The atomic time (Multiband 6) can actually work anywhere. There are few smartphone apps for that. Tho, it's really not so necessary. I did an experiment and turned the receiver off... it runs late roughly 1 second per month. So, I just decided to move it forward for 6 seconds, and turn on the receiver twice per year. I'd say that will also make the battery life longer. I hope it will run at least for 2 decades before changing it, as I saw some of older solar G-shocks still keep going on after 15-17 years.
      I also keep the auto-LT off. It's just a gimmick.
      Btw, mine GW-B5600 has a combi bracelet. It's infinitely better than those rubber bands.

    • @TomasWatchReviews
      @TomasWatchReviews  ปีที่แล้ว

    I have the previous model and I have to say I prefer the older for the simple reason that it has the green backlight. Would it be nicer to have 3s option for backlight? Yes. Would it be nicer to be able to switch to DD.M format instead of the insane US version of M.DD? Yes. But i don't mind not seeing the time during timer and sw function at all. And mine has no trouble receiving the radio signal.
    Overall, it is a rugged, practical, useful, and simple watch. I love it and it reminds me of my 1984 G-Shock 5000, which unfortunately didn't survive a stupid teenager.

    I've had this Casio GW-M5610U watch for almost a month, and these buttons are annoying, even though I have a timer that I usually use often, I must admit that it's a bit tiring, it's practically impossible to do it with one hand. I already put it up for sale three days ago. I'm currently wondering whether to replace it with GA-B2100 -1AER. Although since I received the Pagani PD1717, I don't feel like wearing another watch... Still, I'm wondering whether to buy the mentioned GA-B2100 to see if it suits me, or the Casio EFS-S620DB-1BVUEF. Ultimately, I'm considering switching to the Citizen Titanium Eco-Drive BM8560-88E and ending this "chase" for a watch that suits me. And then wear PD1717 every day, and Citizen when traveling. To sum up, what would be the best solution from this combination? Casio GA-B2100, Casio EFS-S620DB-1BVUEF, or Citizen Titanium Eco-Drive BM8560-88E?

      to be honest, I don't like it much. Despite wonderful buttons it feels a bit too plastic. I have to kick myself in a butt a bit to make video about it :D

      @@AmitKulkarni-z3r Oh, bless your heart, my friend, you are as nice as you are naive.
      There are about 20 watches at home, 2 on the way from China she still does't know about...
      At this point she gets mad when I gift HER another watch. It is that bad.
      She bought me whiskey for our 15th anniversary...
