Hello sir can u start a beginner course on all about different ropes , different type of knots and how to increase thickness to desired thickness from thin ropes. Love your videos and thanks for teaching so much ❤
The easy way to increase the size of the rope is to add layers. You see I put 4 spinners on the head of the machine I made. Unfortunately I gave that machine to a Scout Master for his troop activity's. In his hands the rope machine has made hundreds of jump ropes they sell for their camping activity's. It was a fun project build for a good cause. Thanks for stopping by this video.
Yes the Kids love to get involved. My brother had two sons in Scouting. They took the rope machine to an air show and sold jump ropes and Lead ropes for show animals. $20.oo of twine made them $130.oo for scouting events.
I have been making rope since may of 1970 ...sisal, and poly propaliene and some times in the same rope .good job your machine is a little different from mine but I use the same manner as you .
Nice "farm fresh" parts used to make an expensive machine for free! I like that! I also like the know-how of making useful items cheaper, and perhaps, just for the sake of knowing you can do it yourself if you had to or not!
What tools are required to build something like this? Think I could manage with an electric drill, some saws, and hammers and nails? Or would I need to be able to weld to build one?
I used a drill press with a Forster drill bit to put the bearings in the wood, A chain was used to make the loops on the cut ends of the axles. Ask a friend with a welder. Nail or screw the frame together. The hard part is finding 2 lawn mowers with the same gears and axles. I was lucky.
I love this, do you have a crank on both ends or just on the end with the single hook? I have been looking for a pattern to make one with. Yours is the best one I have found.
Well you are in luck My friend. The old Craftsman front wheel drive with inner gears. There Should be plenty at the recycle center by now. I cut the axle about 4" long and set them in bearings from the rear wheels, You might need new bearings if the mower is well used and left out. I was lucky I had been given 2 mower for parts. So the 2 models you asked for 917.378381 and 917.378850 both had the same transmission front wheel drive.
Get your friends together and see what you can come up with. Free from scrap lawnmower parts, Wood from an old bunk bed. 4 chain links cut and welded to fit. An afternoon left alone to play.
How do you teach your child to value money? Use them as free labor till they move out. How do you know your parent(s)/guardians are cheap and lazy? They use you.
This was built for my two nephews in the video. Both are in Boy Scouts. With this tool we made rope for a monkey bridge. We do so much as Scout leaders for our young minds. This way the kids learn how to do for them self's as they grow. The lazy drop off the kids for an outing. They know the kids are in good hands with the active leaders.
@@badbadbob1 So cool. That completes the circle from why am I doing this to this is so much fun! But as adults we too have to do things just because they need to be done. And no we aren't being paid for all this home improvement. On a side note I did watch your light video but the diode was MIA. You mentioned there was an issue. I'm good with USB rechargeable but that(an integrated lighting system) is a rare thing to see. I know I would march right over to the MB forums and shine some light on the subject.
@@bobbycratchet3958 The diode will be a good look into why everyone cuts the white wire off. The white wire was put in to operate lights. But apparently it robs the energy needed for the coil to make the spark. My theory is the grounding effect. Just like the kill switch, it sends all the power being made to ground. That kills the spark and the motor dies. First test was when the carb was flooding the motor. I did not know at the time it was the chock turning itself on. Now that I have that solved and fixed I can get back to the light. If I send the power being made by the coil to the battery that then goes to the lights. I think I can reduce the ground effect I mentioned. But if the motor is not running. I do not want to send that power from the battery to the coil. 1 it might burn out the coil. 2 it will drain the battery. The diode only allows energy to flow one direction. from the coil to the battery and light. We will see in the next video. I hope. Some sorting out to do if I have to small a ohms diode for the output of the white wire charger.
The purpose of gloves is primarily to protect your fingertips, the most nerve laden tender and sensitive parts of your hands that amount to your primary means of an entire sense, that of touch. Nothing says idiot quite like fingerless gloves.
Clever build, thank you for the video!
It was a easy, cheep and useful build.

The best investment a good father can do is share with his children. Good example. Thanks for share
I agree. Investment have paid back as the kids bring their friends to make rope. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
I think my grandchildren would LOVE to do this! I always use them as child labor!😍😍

Thanks. This was a fun project. My brother wanted a rope machine to do Boy Scout projects. I figured this out in an afternoon and it worked great.
I love rope.
Hi, Colin! love your inventions
colinfurze I just thought it was me being strange
Отличная конструкция!! Спасибо огромное!!
"Great design !! Thank you very much !!" That is a good rope machine too. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

I am the proud owner of this cool machine, now! I've made over a 100 ropes with Boy Scouts.
Helicool1104 can you email me plans to make a rope sisal lukeaeschbacher12@gmail.com
Luke, I really don't have any written plans, but I think Bob Anderson has some videos that explains how it is built.
Helicool1104 ok thanks
That was awesome , thank you.
It works well too. We have made more then a mile of rope with it.
Brilliant!
Thanks for stopping by.
Wondering if I could use the nylon rope and make a larger rope like this? I want to make a 100 foot Manila Battle Rope for working out.
Génial, je prend copie, félicitation.
What tools are required to build something like this? Think I could manage with an electric drill, some saws, and hammers and nails? Or would I need to be able to weld to build one?
Awesome. Thank you!
Nice job making this machine out of junk. Where do you get the string to make the string?

Very creative
got any cargo net videos?
Noobie question. How does the disc cause the strands to inter-twine?
I love this, do you have a crank on both ends or just on the end with the single hook? I have been looking for a pattern to make one with. Yours is the best one I have found.
Great video! Does your wheel with the inside gear have metal or plastic teeth?
+jakibros The small gears are metal and the wheel is plastic. I have used it 4 years now and it has had no problems.
Would this work to make rawhide reata?
I think that is woven.
"I said say you're having fun, damnit! Now smile for the camera!"
Great vid, hell of a good line made
Ever try cable with a core?
very cool good job
The farm store has hay bailing twine. We user sisal, I also have used the red colored man made twine, The rope is smaller in size but much stronger.
If you use a made rope, you need to pay attention it does not unravel when making your bigger rope. Been there done that.

How can i get it Nepal?
That is a good question. Do you have a metal recycle yard with allot of old machinery. You will need to find gears.
kids are for work that's why back in the day family's 12 are more, make kids work

Them are cold weather gloves. Sold for the purpose of hammering or nose picking when cold weather is. You should get out more and learn something.
Interesting
I must have taken someone's job in India and south korea. They do not like it.
Look at My Video "Rope Making sisal" It shows setting the 2 parts of the machine up and making sisal rope.
