The weather was so nice that the glass was very foggy from the sun.
The gorillas were beginning to nap by 10:30 PM.
Kintaro was just as diligently eating bark as the other day.
It is the first time in recent years that I have seen him eat bark this seriously.
The wound on Genki's left cheek is fine.

He is hesitant in new situations and is a loner.
His father died before he was born, and he had never spent time with a silverback.
He had already turned into a silverback by the time he was 10 years old.
He is struggling with unfamiliar child-rearing.
MOMOTARO's father is BIJU.
MOMOTARO's mother is MOMOKO
Mother GENKI ♀ (1986/6/24)
She is 14 years older than Momotaro and has a role to support the whole family mentally.
She has had a tumultuous and eventful life.
She has returned to her birthplace, Kyoto City Zoo.
She had never been blessed with a baby but after meeting Momotaro,
she had two sons.
She is a very maternal female gorilla.
GENKI's father is MAKK.
GENKI's mother is HIROMI.
First son GENTARO, male (2011/12/21)
He was separated from his mother Genki soon after he was born.
Genki's milk production was not very good.
He was raised by his keeper for his first10 months.
Because of this, he is very fond of humans.
His face is so expressive, and everyone enjoys watching him.
Second son KINTARO ♂ (2018/12/19)
He is just very strong-willed and independent.
He has big eyes and long eyebrows.
The way he plays a lot with his brother Gentaro makes everyone smile.
We can't wait to see what kind of gorilla he'll become!

Gentaro may be almost an adult at 12 but he has this childlike look in his eyes.
They make an effort for this family. The family looks healthy. I have seen other zoos around the world that are sparce and gorillas look unhealthy. Thank you all who care for the Momotaro family❤❤❤

I'm loving all the greenery in the gorilla house, the forestation project has come a long way. Now, if only we can get Kintaro to stop pulling out and eating the saplings. Still, I adore the little gorilla.
I agree completely! Shabani troop has lots of green space, and I'm sure its much better for their physical and mental health to have nature around them... I hate seeing just concrete and metal, its horrible
Sorry, but that's complete and utter BS. Kintaro is just behaving instinctively (naturally), using his surroundings a he sees fit. Only thing wrong here: your *human* perspective.

I looked at the images of the second ground, I knew it wouldn't be big but wasn't expecting it to be so tiny. Hope Gentaro doesn't have to stay there long when he moves in.

Je viens de regarder, ce n'est pas un terrain mais plutôt une salle pas très large mais haute de plafond. Je pensais que se serait un terrain avec de la végétation, je suis très déçue, pourvu qu on ne laisse pas un gorille 24h/24 h là dedans ! Mettez au moins de la paille au sol svp, merci.

@@ralo4304 and marilyn, there was a video recently where GL was doing a live chat, and you know at the side of the video where people come in and there is a live chat during those? Well, towards the end of the chat (and also you have to scroll towards the end of the video to see the last part of the chat), I was able to see a couple of links there in the chat sections, and one of the links went to pictures of the second ground where people had been working on it. I hope y'all know what I'm talking about when I say GL did a live chat a video or so ago, because if you can find that video, and then the live chat is right beside it, then scroll towards the end of the video, and that will also take you towards the end of the chat where the links were. Hope I didn't make things too confusing. 😂

Q', cómo cuando, quién le ha lastimado a Genki?, ese capítulo me he perdido, pobrecita, ella q' es muy buena no se mete con nadie y sin embargo la lastiman, seguro ha sido su marido q' cuando se mete con ella la muerde en la cara, ya lo hizo, Dios, protégela, viejita como está es malo

I agree. Just looked at the photos.
The gorillas have had access to the second ground before. The structure is to make it more fun and usable. Gentaro is not being permanently separated from his family. But, it will be used as a training area in thefuture, to get Gentaro used to spending time away from his family. I believe they've already started doing that by him sleeping in his own room at night.
@@seasonsofphilly1993 Unless they send him elsewhere then there is nowhere for him to go and he can't stay with them forever so something has to give,sooner or later.
@@ChristineCole-kl4vu Unfortunately, there's no where for Gentaro to go, no suitable enclosure is available. Sadly, a lack of planning in Japan zoos are leaving Gentaro and others in limbo. Annie of the Shabani troop, included. In the Haoko troop Komomo and Momoka are on birth control to prevent pregnancy. Don't breed gorillas if you're not planning for their future.

リンクからサブグラウンドの写真を見た。窓がないからまっ暗かと思ったら明るかった。窓を作ってくれたらいいのに
ゴリラからしたら、キーパーエリア内の飼育員が見える窓があります。なので、ストレスは少ないでしょう。

Meus dois amores Kintaro e Genki, eu já tinha visto, é uma area muito pequena, não tem como Gentaro e Kintaro ficar no subsolo, eles são gorilas, precisam de espaço, é claustrofóbico, não acho que vai dar certo, é a realidade, a família e Kintaro e Gentaro merecem um lugar mais espaçoso. Fico contente que Genki não está com nenhum abcesso. Amo muito meu lindo príncipe Kintaro e a linda e doce Genki❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

After viewing the photos I am a little disappointed that they are using metal and not a more nature materials. Metal is not natural for gorillas it attacks too much heat during summer months and too cold during winter what a shame.
I love these gorillas, but I feel so sad for them because they are in the cage. Is there anyway to get them to a sanctuary?
