I have an 87 Ebtide with a Force 125 on it and am repairing the tilt/trim on it. Thank you so much for the detailed video on this repair and system check. I have searched high and low for something like this.
Thanks for the information, had the same problem. I did need a new pump, but still no go, motor shaft not engaging. Had to add spacer to thrust end of motor, bingo .Not a bad fix at 225.
can you show me how to get access to the shocks on this bracket? I need to replace gaskets so I am not sure how to take them off or atleast get access to replace. There is a bracket with a hose also around one of the shocks I need to replace but don't know how....thank you for your time
i have Force 125, my tilt and trim motor(coil is rusted and ceased.housing is crack) and the pump is very coroded as well? i think i have to replace the entire kit except the pistons and lines. where can i get replacement?
When you took the rotor out of the pump, you dropped something like a bearing or bushing for the top part, what was that and did you put it back again or removed it? Did it fit with brass washers?
I have a 125 force motor and the trim motor worked but the motor would slowly come back down. I had a shop replace the o-rings in the hydraulic cylinders and I bought a new trim motor and that other thing you bought as well. now my problem is it won't work at all! I replaced the relays but still nothing! the switch works the relays work but when I hit the switch nothing....any ideas? 1989 Cobra Bass with a 125 force engine
I got a 1984 115 hp evinrude when I tilt it up it slowly goes down on its own like when you let off a hydraulic jack you think it’s seals or something else they leaks a little but it’s full of oil
Buck's Garage thanks I will take it apart this fall trying to get some use out of it first I mostly use the kicker motor for trolling1969 6 hp Johnson works good thank you for the video good info
Buck's Garage I took it out on Lake Michigan and now it is holding but if you put pressure with your hand on it and push it down it’ll still go down real slow but at least it’s staying put on it’s own thanks for the information
@@bucksgarage1 Great video showing how to troubleshoot the tilt/trim. Thank you. It does suck buying parts when not needed. I just started up my car from sitting over winter and the battery didn't have enough juice to turn it over, was dropping below 9 and not spinning the motor. I had disconnected the battery when parking it and charged it for a day before attempting to start. It had 12.55V on it before I even charged it so I figured it was good, but ya, no crank. So I bought a new one $300 one to have the same result. That's when I figured there is resistance in the crank and I boosted it with my truck to help it turn. It finally started and now starts like butter each time. Wasted $300 on a new battery.

How did you clean the cylinder magnet from all the metal shavings?
@@lgsr1 I don't quite remember, but my best guess is just wipe it off with a rag
Once I get my new switch I can see if mine work’s properly, but if it don’t this will be the first thing I check. Thanks!

Good stuff! I think i have the exact same issue. Thanks man!

It is the oil plug from the pump. I put it in that spot just to hold the brushes in their spot. That cap doesn't normally go there.
Thank you

Did you end up finding a resolution with your issue? I have the 125 with a slow 'bleeding' or lowering issue. Thank you!
How fast will that Force 85 move the pontoon? We have the same one and it only goes 13mph
15 to 18. Not much faster.
@@bucksgarage1 ok thank you
What pump did you buy?
What size for the 4 bolts they look weird
Phillips head screws

I bet there is a valve internally that is not sealing completely.

quick question... how do you remove the cowling hood ? been trying for 2 days on mine and nothing .. thanks
I have no idea. Didnt work on the engine. Sorry.
Frustrating when your main fix doesn't work, especially when you buy parts, but even better when you're ultimately able to locate and fix the problem!
Yea ot sucks he spent 120 on a new pump and a couple washers is all it really needed... Hopefully it holds up long term.

Anyone one here know where I can get a manual release plug for the power trim mine is missing and can't find it anywhere
If the seals aren't leaking fluids full and the motor turns its probably the pump.. right?
I would think so.
*You don't even need a motor just use the drill lol* #WorldsOkayestFarmer
$1.76 in washers $3.50 in fluid and $875 labour lol
It's always the labor, amirite?
