Within a couple of hours after the latest patch release to wave 2, ETF chat was awash with people moaning about a vast array of problems, and naturally the patch was subsequently released to the wider PTU. Funniest experience I had with this patch (a few hrs ago), was when I was waiting at the A18 ASOP lobby for friends to catchup, a server error hit, and after the subsequent recovery, I was forcibly relocated under the map, with a notification that it was done for my safety!! Do not ask and you shall receive :)
I had that happen at a18 to except it took me from asop to I think the roof of the hospital it was a roof top it never moved me from there had to relog
@@MichaelDavidWiller In a limited capacity yes. But unfortunately until the issues CIG is having getting the database to notify all the servers properly for literally hundreds of thousands of assets and settings, the player count will likely remain at or below 100.
You, that are testing these patches and helping to troubleshoot the mess, are much appreciated. As far as the PvP stuff goes, I really hope I'm not driven out of the game as I was for Red Dead Online. Troll farms suck. But I don't think SC's going that route, so I'm not worried about it as much. That said, I will definitely be friending up with orgs to caravan with when that's what I'm up to. Hoping to learn some good techniques for flying casual too. Great stuff, Bored! Be well, folks! 😉👍
I was on the PTU last night, and I felt it performed very well. I don’t understand what all the posted anger was about as I found fusing the cargo hanger interface to be performing very nicely. I had no issues with it. You still use the cargo interface to access all your ship stuff and whatnot.
I'm shocked they released 3.24 to everyone. With all the problems I wasn't expecting it anytime soon, but open PTU makes it seem possible for an August release. Going to try out the PTU tonight!
I saw they removed or disabled drawers on the personal inventory terminals and basically went back to local. At least they can get 3.24 out. All of us are in anticipation with Pyro and 4.0
I wonder when C.I.G will look to a physics polish pass? When testing bunker missions yesterday, landed the MSR and opened rear door. While door clipped through surface the ship was stable. Exited vehicle and immediately upon exit the ship started to Jane & jitter around and flew up into the air and landed upside down. Left me stranded and unable to re-enter ship. This also highlighted the lack of tractor able items ( containers etc) to allow climbing to possibly re-enter.

My favorite ship so far is probably the Mercury Star Runner. It looks super slick from the outside, nice speed, decent guns and decent size... But it could really use a rework. Like that weird elevator. Put some stairs insted. Put the servers into the server room. Stuff like that. I started playing last week and i have been enjoying it ever since! I was close to quitting and refunding but i met a new and very good friend who has taught me the ins and outs! My next ship purchase is going to be the Corsair!
nice adjustment to the inventory system. I still don't know how to store things on my ship, shy of dropping them on the floor. These ships were sold with an inventory spec. I know they have all kinds of 'stats are subject to change', but no reasonable workaround is yet available.
The PTU felt stable except for a couple of issues with tractor beams. Like for example the bigger tractorbeam (rifle) can move 32SCU boxes, but not take them off any cargo grid.
Still enjoying 3.24 on PTU, but the cargo elevators are incredibly buggy still and I eventually gave up this afternoon trying to complete a number of hauling missions where I could not get the elevator to accept some of the containers. Those missions would then show as abandoned, making it harder to test the different levels of reptuation progression. I'll keep trying though!
MERCUUUUUURY! Does it have similar HP/shield/DMG as others in its class? -> NO Does its speed help at all at the moment? --> NO Does it have a defined gameplay-loop already --> NO Does it have a 2nd exit to avoid running 10min when you're getting shot at? --> NO Does it make sense that the chess pieces are always scattered across the hallway? --> NO Is it nevertheless the coolest ship at all? --> YES
Ship inventory does not seem to be accessible and bed logging in space is broken. I can log out in space but when I log back in, regardless of where I was when I logged out when I log back in I'm in the center of Stanton. I have not tried to bed log on a planet or moon yet
Their notes for the item bank update doesn’t really describe what they did. No one particularly liked the drawer, so they took that out. As a placeholder (hopefully) they just made it so the old paper doll inventory UI is back, but you have to use a storage kiosk to access it. It’s not just filtered to FPS stuff even though they said it would be. It’s just the old inventory, which is fine but doesn’t fit very well with the rest of the patch.
as much as i like the ship showdown, i still feel its heavily engineered for who they want in the semi-finals and finals of the competition. Look how round 2 and semis are configured, and my prediction on outcome. Semi Finals Freighter Vs Road Warrior = Freigther Pathfinder vs UInderdog, = Pathfinder Speed vs Heavy Duty = Heavy Duty Alien vs Run&Gun. = Run&Gun Finals Freigther vs Pathfinder = Freigther (but could do either way Heavy Duty vs Run&Gun = Run&Gun Champion Frieghter vs Run&Gun = Run&Gun Dont get me wrong I think its setup better this year with the categories but personally I would like to see these categories have their public showdowns
As a original Kickstarter backer I've been waiting for this for over ten years. I e not played missions, I've dabbled and watched your videos. This one is getting me excited. I'm mainly a hauler, but like to think I can dog fight lol. But the Merc ship you mentioned looks awesome! I've seen it briefly with someone but haven't flown or owned it, if I don't win your comp my mission will be to earn and hopefully buy in game!! Awesome updates, exciting times! 😊
I noticed another ship is getting a rework.... this is understandable for any game which is a long time in development however i was just wondering..... in the live game have CIG ever mentioned if the really old ship models which have since changed significantly may be used as wrecks on planet surfaces to salvage etc? may help minimise wasted 3D work as well as add a little richness / history to the game world as well.
The change to the Item Bank actually made me feel real anger for the first time with Star Citizen, SUCH a retrograde and backward change. I actually liked the Item Bank and the way it worked and I liked the screen presentation.. People bitching and moaning about having one 'extra' click WoW, like that was "game breaking"!! I don't know what was actually breaking the Patch so many times, and delaying /slowing progress, but what ever it was, it sure looks like the patch has taken a leap into Open PTU quite suddenly and THAT was unexpected!! Think I will take a more 'distant' stance on the game, I do not like getting angry. It should not have that effect.
I'm looking forward to seeing how this all pans out. The itemized inventory seems interesting but only really if all the support systems are in place for it. Otherwise it'll be a really rough transition...
It's been mostly good news so far for the Open PTU. I haven't had the time to jump in myself, so the update is appreciated. I was really hoping the 890 and Terrapin would make it at least to the Final Four this year to get some paints, I don't own either, but I do see them around the 'verse, so it'd be nice for there to be _some_ variety. And once CIG updated them for paints, I'm sure there would be more paints coming on the Pledge Store.
My PTU character was super tired. I have tried two days in the a row to play PTU, but he will just not get out of bed. I a routing for the ships that do not have paints, 890, terrapin, and F8C.
That screen shot teaser looks like the unreleased ship from last citcon that could be the vertical fins we see on that ship and they fold down possibly to lower its profile in space and to help with planetary rentry or thats from the bottom of the ship and it folds down when the landing gear comes out
Well that's a real shock. Give the bugs yesterday, i really right open ptu was going to be at least a week away. Things seem okay today. We will see once more people log on. As for the ship showdown, i was a bit shocked that the Spirit won. I know it's new but i figured it would be able to get a close second against the Star Runner
I am excited for the cargo patch only because it's a stepping stone on the road to 4.0 and better things. Moving cargo around manually actually sounds kind of tedious to me. I hope there's an option to pay for NPCs to do it for me.
I tryed the Mercury in the free flight, was much better then my expectations and like it alot. based on looks i think my favourites is probably the Vanguards. For combat so far i like the FBC Lightning, which i tryed in the free flight, wish it had an interior. Havnt tryed to many ships yet, only have two myself and then the ones from the free flight.

Just over it for now. Hey we are going to give you your own personal hanger…cool. We are going to give you a new system….two years later…it’s super close. But in the mean time I really enjoy your videos and updates.

Ahhh my two favorite ships, the star runner and the Connie! Would love a star runner! That's the life long goal!
After the lengthy evocati, I did not expect wave 5 so fast.
Nicely done... excited for 3.24 to make the live server as well as the Zeus mk2 CL releasing so I can complete my fleet!
Im Appreciating the regular updates as to the progress Thanks
It was in wave 2 for a day. Guess the schedule had taken precedent over the quality of the patch. Guess the patch will be releasing before Friday.

I hope we eventually get robot pets, although a special space suit for my pet would be funny.
I still think the Vanguard Warden is the coolest looking ship, but I'm a sucker for both the A10 and the P-38.
I have been playing in the new patch, and have been having issues with delivering cargo missions if I do more than 2 or 3 turn ins at a time.
Nice bounce back - 1 step forward, 2 steps back, then a 3 step jump forward
If they start limiting the tractors then perhaps ships like the argo tractor could become useful

Can we get ground vehicles from inside of hangar elevators?
favorite and only ship I own is the C1 Spirit! I really like it, but the MSR would be a sweet secondary edition to my hangar.
been checking out the PTU and servers seem good but finding bugs with missions . thanks for the update
Can the big FPS tractor beam still lift 32 SCU cargo boxes?
Sweet, then we will see 3.24 live before CitizenCon at least! Would be fantastic if they could release 4.0 around Citizencon time, doubt it though :)

I never got an update prompt, what's up with that?
Fav ship is the Ares Ion I think, but I would love to operate a mercury star runner.. so badass
Two weeks in open PTU sounds good. We can get back to some good gaming as all the kids go back to school.
Excited for the new cargo to hit the PU. Haven’t done it in so long.
Agree it's gonna probably be a painful patch but will be so worth it when it comes together
Favourite ship is Avenger, but would change that to a aegis or anvil connie equivalent.
this patch i lost all cargo missions like how i lost all salvage missions in LIVE. Trying to find a work around now.
Never fails. as soon as SC releases something new that I can play, I am busy at work for the foreseeable future.
I'm excited for this patch, but I'll wait for the live build. I've got some stuff to work on irl so it's ok. Let them cook
I'm surprised that 3.24 has made it to open ptu this soon. I wasn't expecting it until the end of the month.
The animated advertisements are hilarious
seems the stability improved really fast
Haven't played the 3.24 PTU yet, but I just hope it runs well when I do
I wonder if the ship they're releasing with 3.24 live is the Zeus MK II CL
That would be something
Open PTU? Where when, for me is still showing wave 2
