I'm 62, male, and just found out 10 days ago that I have a very mild case of RA after my seropositive anti-CCP test result and my symptoms confirmed it. Your videos have been outstanding in helping me to understand what RA is and how it affects me personally. I meet with my rheumatologist to discuss my blood test results next week to see what he recommends. Thank you so much for making these videos.
Just an FYI that I I have had RA for 11 years now. Methotrexate worked for the first 7-8 years, then it stopped working. Now I’m on biologics. I’m going to look into with my Rheumatologist to the medication popular in Europe, since I am of European ancestry. Hydroxy drug was a no go, Enbrel a no go and Rinvoqu also a no go. All had horrible side effects. I’m 4 months in to the biologic orencia infusion I go to every 4 weeks. I have also been on Prednisone approximately 3-4 years, 5mgs can increase to 10 mgs when a flare is presenting. Any medication suggestions you have I am open to. Thank you. I also want to share from a high function dyslectic listeners perspective, 12:30 it was TMI. From a person with this painful disease I did not appreciate your comment about your video or the complexities of RA being “bonkers”. I served as a corporate trainer in healthcare for 25 years before I became ill and the comment bonkers doesn’t appear to be very patient dignity preserving friendly, from my perspective.
I wish u would do a talk on Psoriatic Arthritis. U seem to mention it in passing with other conditions but I think a lot more ppl have it than have been dx'd. I appreciate ur talks, though, but have to watch them sometimes more than once. I can't keep up with u LOL, but I'm at 72 YO RN, so I guess that's OK.
