    Thank you so much for doing these video's, I learn so much from them!! It's a shame that so many people watch them, but can't be bothered to hit the like button.... Come on people, give this man some credit for his work!!

    The first video of this model of the coffee scoop was about the third video of yours I had seen after starting to learn Fusion 360 a few months ago. I've been trying to learn how to do things I need for the subjects I'm working on and every time I watch another of your videos I always have an aha! moment. The way you extruded the handle in this one was that moment. I will be using that for sure in the future!

    Great presentation. The way it taught is straight forward and to the point.

    Excellent, thank you. I was thinking sketch an arc with a tangent line and revolve the hemisphere + hockey puck at the same time.

      Hi Roland W Thank you for watching! Yes, I think you are right. That would have eliminated a step. I have a tendency to break things down into smaller steps than needed.
      Have an awesome day!

      I would go almost the same route, except I would create a sketch in the form of an outline of a letter "J" so the shell command wouldn't be necessary. But as Lars said it doesn't matter which way to go.

    • @RogerGarrett
      @RogerGarrett 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That was what I was thinking as well, but only because I had used some other CAD program a few years back and that's the only way it could have been done with that software. I appreciated Lars introducing the Shell command. It looks very powerful and useful in numerous other applications that would be difficult to do by the rotate sketch command.

    fantastic! thank you!! i was thinking sketch the scoop's outer profile, offset its thickness and revolve... cool stuff!

    Nice to know about the offset functionality in the extrude tool. If you don't know that beforehand you will probably never use it so thanks for this one Lars, lesson learned!

    It's like anything else. There are a number if ways to get the same finished result. Learn as many as you can, then the right way for you becomes what's easiest and fastest for you, and that takes the least amount of work.

    A useful point out/demonstration that there are more ways than one to get to the same result. Helpful video, thanks.

    Hey, Lars! Thank you for all these vids. I'm a real newbie here but I'm quiet sure that the sketch of this isn't the same as in part 1. In part 1 you never told us to add the 8mm diameter circle of the handle on the coffecscoop.
    Look at 28min and forward of part 1.
    This was my first sketch. I pat my back and told myself I did good. But I can't finish part 2. 😁

    Well in an attempt to make the pickiest comment ever ... the first model had 6 grooves in the handle, but when you copied, pasted, and then blew the grooves away, you made circular pattern as 5 instead of 6. 16:30. I know that you were just checking to see if we were watching, right? ;) Anyway, nice job as usual.

    Hi Lars
    Sorry, but you tried to make the same scoop using a different approach. It did not work, but I appreciate the effort. The original had 6 grooves in the handle. The new one has 5 grooves! C'mon Lars, we need the groove or no more coffee for you!

  • @RogerGarrett
    @RogerGarrett 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    When you added those six circles to the sketch of the end of the handle I was expecting that each of those circles would end up as a bump on the circle, i.e. additive to the circle, and therefore a bump along the length of the handle. Instead, those six circles acted as grooves in the handle, i.e. subtractive from the main circle. Was there some option you selected to make it subtractive instead of additive?

    • @cadcamstuff
      @cadcamstuff  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      By default, Fusion will cut if sketch geometry is interfering with another solid, but you can easily change that in the dialog box to a join.
      Hope this is helpful

    Thank you for these videos they really help a lot have 1 question I can not click though a surface to chose an edge like you did in the original #83 when adding the fillets to the handle is this a setting i missed?

    The second way is faster even though it has 1 more step because you dont't have mess around creating an arc or a offset plane

    • @cadcamstuff

      Hi Dutch Thank you for watching! I agree!

  • @andrewmorris9499

    Very cool. Couldn't you just revolve the cup part as one piece and the handle part as well ? Won't revolves follow a path? Or extrudes? Or sweeps? Lofts? I'm just trying to be cute but, is that possible and a fast workaround? By using only 2d sketches to generate both shapes quickly.......?

    • @cadcamstuff
      @cadcamstuff  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Andrew Morris Thank you for watching!
      No problem with being cute :-). Yes, You are totally right, 2 Sketches and you can revolve most of this part.
      Best,
      Lars

    Hi Lars!
    The "original sketch" in this video is not original from the video 83 at all. If it were, than the copy paste command would produce proper sketch in to the new sketch plane right into the center of it and undamaged btw..., since your actual original sketch was properly centered and it had like 15 entity's not 32 like you somehow produced here... If you go to the actual original sketch and copy paste it into the new plane it will come in in full and it will remain full even if you decide to move it from the initial centered position in which it pops out when pasted. So, where did you get your fake sketch from anyways? hehe
    like your vids a lot. I watched the whole beginners series and more and have modeled all the things in there and sometimes went on and modeled few of those into more detail than it was done in the videos too...
    Thank you!

  • @tomherd4179
    @tomherd4179 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Followed both videos 83 and 88, but the "copy and paste" failed for me. Using a MacBook Pro I think I got the sketch copied, but attempts to paste it failed. I could not get a paste option to appear. The Fusion help also got me lost as well and did not provide an answer, at least for me.

      The same thing happened to me. I then made sure that the document I pasted into was in sketch mode and that’s when I was able to paste successfully.

    Thank you for your attractive videos. I just wonder if I can send you a drawing. I would like to have help with how to make a molding box. around but I can not separate the detail from the box.
    Can I send you a private mail to discuss the best solution?

    One problem that really bothers me is that your studio has so many hard walls the your voice just bounces around and makes it hard for me understand you.
