Your videos are fantastic! Keep it up. I have been subscribed to your channel for a while now and watch all of your videos. You are a wealth of knowledge and I can appreciate the time and effort it takes to post them. I am a Vet rider myself and have been on the YZ250's for most my adult life. I have taken away so much valuble information from you. I am currently on the same 2022 YZ250 as well so these recent Up 2 Speed series of videos are right in my wheel house. Congratulations on the new to you race bike! Shout out from Alberta, Canada.
Hello Todd in Alberta! Thanks! One thing I have noticed is the 2022 to 2025 has a different part number for the CDI. Its the first time they changed the CDI since 2005. I wonder whats different about it. I do know the 2022 feels like a different motor in some ways compared to the 2005 to 2021. I was thinking it was due to the air box but now that I see the CDI is different its got me thinking lol. Thanks for the support and coming along!
If anyone deserves a free bike its you.All the effort you put forth making videos and sharing your knowledge ,tips and tricks that helps us regular shade tree mechanics is priceless. Glad the bike turned out great for you, should serve you well for many years.
Good video mate. I try & run my chain as long as possible so my wheel base is longer & with all our tracks here in Aus I have my fork height at 3mm. My static is usually 38mm unless I ride deep sand then I go to 44 & forks flush. Enjoy the yz! Sounds near on the same as mine 👌🏻👊🏻
Thanks! I found my static at 38mm after the day of riding. Forks are currently at 6mm but thinking that might be the first change I make this weekend, thinking about trying 5mm and maybe more in that direction. The track this weekend will be sandier and good for that kinda tuning. 👍
Thanks! I was just getting back into riding as a young adult (20 years old) when the 1996 came out and its kinda always stuck in my memory as a good time lol
ah man, Yeah we didnt know we would be going there till the very last minute. I was hoping for 74 but at the last minute they said they wouldnt be open so we put together a plan B lol
@@UpAllNight91 Yup, working outside all week and doing the lawn on the weekend is friggin unreal this time of year. The garage is basically an oven. LOL.
Love the content and all covered! Man i was looking up bikes and Kawasaki is higher priced as of today. Whats your thoughts? I live right by kawi dealer and have access to dealer they sell yama but they seem to be cheaper.. KTM i always wanted to try out a 300 II stroker
I looked into it for a few. It seems its for the woods or off road bikes. Even though I do some hare scramble stuff I do set my bikes up for MX. But I am converting my 2018 to a dedicated hare scramble bike so down the road I might try this out on the 18.
Track looks sick. Can I ask you a question... Do you know the length of the chain roller bolt on a yz125? I lost mine while riding 2 weeks ago so I ordered a new one, but the bolt doesn't go though and through and I can't figure out if i'm the absolute idiot or if the produt isn't right... It says it fits my bike on the website I bought it from, so I really don'T know what to think. I've tried finding the spec everywhere, but I can only see its diamter, not its length. Thanks Love your videos. They make a me a much better and cleaner mechanic than I am!

Hey man, I have settled on purchasing a YZ 125 as my first mx bike, but I have been struggling to find them for sale on Facebook Marketplace down here in south florida. All of the bikes are 2005 and under going for 3k+. Any tips on finding newer YZ 125?
always good deals for decent bikes in Jupiter , loxahatchee . id offer you mine, but im prob above your budget . have a really nice 2022 with under 15 hrs , all sorts of work done to it . but id need basically new bike cost for it . worth it , but prob out of your range .
Oh man yeah can be tough when you want to find a good bike at the right price. What I do is broaden my search, I will be willing to drive 5 maybe 6 hours is the price and condition is right. Expand facebook search to 500 miles. And then check daily and have patience. It took me about 3 weeks of searching to find my 125 and about the same 3 weeks to find my 250. The 125 I drove 2.5 hours for. The 2022 250 I got lucky it was close. But my 2018 YZ250 was in south GA so I drove about 4 hours for that one.
why do you blip the throttle right off the jump face? just asking because ive always been taught not to do that because it can cause you to swap out, and indeed it can.
Its true that using the throttle up jumps can cause a swap, especially if your throttling up the jump. I'm not throttling up the jumps when you hear me blip it, its more of just a snap for loading the suspension and setting the pitch. I already have enough speed ahead of time to clear it without any throttle.
Good tires and low horsepower is the fix lol. Can hold a 250f pinned on the face... Matter fact you better or you wont make it. This is for entertainment only nothing I said here is true as I'm just the Comment Troll.
Great reward for all the info you have put out. Bike is sounding crispy clean. On the forks I've always worked on height, every bike is different but it seemed to me once you find the sweetspot the bike would steer flawless and even took away some arm pump after some distance. Bike is looking great, keep it up.🏜👍
Thanks. For sure fork height is key for me too, That and sag, the pitch of the bike. Its surely a balancing act but once I get the sweet spot I can ride fast while not holding on so tight because the bike is more composed and follows my lead better. Its sure been fun and excited to get back on her Saturday. Counting down the days like a kid at Christmas lol

What gear oil do you recommend for transmission. Do you have a preference of brand with best results?
Shell Rotella 15w40 white bottle. Save money.
Yeah, Shell Rotella 15/40. Changed out every 3 full days of riding.
To be honest u can use any 10 w30 oil will work an yes every 3 rides change it an clean ur airfilter that's a big thing on these 2 strokes
