    I totally get the way you want to work. I LOVE drawing my work first. Then I have transitioned to Affinity Designer for all of my final button up. I LOVE Ai, but the cost, not working in the industry full time, is astronomical.

      I've actually been dabbling in Vectornator! I tried affinity during live stream but got frustrated. Vectornator was a little easier for me to figure out 👍🏾

    I’m making the jump to raster after working with vector for a while. I’m trying to train myself to create with size in mind, because I’ve not had to worry about it until this point. It’s interesting.

    • @dxmkrew
      @dxmkrew 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also, if you’re working with simple designs, you can convert your procreate drawings to vector for the purpose of resizing, if it comes to that. You might have to learn how to adjust a few nodes, but that’s not the end of the world.

      It's good you'll know both! I've had to do vectors once or twice, but it just sucks the life out of me for some reason. I actually don't think I've ever had anything printed larger than 8x10 in my life (other than traditional art photo reproductions from college 20 years ago). I do want some of my illustrations printed, so vectors are still useless for me. I know there are sites that don't charge much to convert.. I'd gladly pay if I needed. Why are you switching, if I may ask? 👍🏾

    I don’t really get what you did at the step 12:40 ? What made it change so that what you were working on disappeared and now everything is white contrasted on the colored background?

    how large can this be scaled? I though vector was necessary for scalability?

    • @drugfreedave
      @drugfreedave  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      A vector would be a lot more versatile in scaling. If you want it for the side of a building, vector for sure. 👍🏾 I don't personally use vectors because I create my designs for specific uses and don't need large print sizes.

    • @drugfreedave
      @drugfreedave  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      As long as it isn't huge, but same with most artwork; it'll be as clear as created up to a certain point. Just as a photograph would lose quality the larger its printed 👍🏾

    mine would be more of your "illustration" type.. but i make decent money from streamers for my logo design and even put them on my store and share the profits to them. I use procreate only

  • @justinpolaris5324

    luckily now you can make raster images and then just use AI converters to convert it to vector if needed.

      If I'm printing my own stickers, I don't need vectors. If I want to make myself a shirt, I don't need vectors. 🤷🏾‍♂️

  • @ttsec3956
    @ttsec3956 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    This is insane, so each time you need to re-create it? There will always be small deviations… this is a terrible idea.

    • @drugfreedave
      @drugfreedave  ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Did you ever think that regular people aren’t corporations that need professional level vector files to brand themselves? I get it, professional logo designers will design in vector. I’m trying to help those people out there that don’t have the time or money to learn vector programs. Sometimes artists have to use the tools that they have to make it work, that’s the reality.
