I never expected to enjoy anything with ogbono besides okro, but when I tried this recipe two days ago, it was delicious. I have always also known ogbono and egusi eaten separately , but combining them as you did turned out to be tasty. My husband and kids enjoyed it as well. Thank you for sharing this fantastic recipe!
I recreated this method today and my husband has not gotten enough of it, he was like “You saw this one on TH-cam again nice 👍 “ See me dancing in my head. Thank you very much, Chef Ify
This is how I prepare mine: Firstly, I boil the meat or any of my protein with stockfish and spice it. Then, mix the egusi with lukewarm water and fried the egusi in a little palm oil ,crayfish, and pepper mix with little bitter leaf in the main pot. Mix ogbono and little palm oil separately in a bowl, then dissolve it with warm water . As the egusi is boiling, I add my locus beans . Then add the obgono with meat stock and little water. Add the black dry catfish or mangala, add more crayfish, and allow the soup to boil. Then add my oziza leaf. Then maggi( optional) and salt to taste . Note: Frying the egusi first gives the soup a beautiful appearance .
Been cooking this soup for a long time, i like to just mix the egusi with water and fry it , add some water allowed it to boil before adding the ogbonor, taste so good 😋
Thank you chef Ify. I loveeeee your creations and I am always excited to recreate them. Ogbono Soup is a delicacy in Cameroon. I'll recreate this method too. Looks delicious 🤤🤤🤤
Chef Ify 👩🏾🍳, your Ogbono goat soup mixed with Egusi dumplings looks absolutely mouthwatering, aromatic, flavourful, Soo banging and Yummylicious 😋 and will go down soo well with pounded Yam😍, Well done Chef Ify 👏🏽👸🏽😘🥰✨👑✨💐💛💐🧡. Instead of a microwave my mom taught me another method When cooking your meat you can add the plate carrying the mixture of your ogbono to the boiling meat buh be careful so it won't pour into your meat
I cooked ogbono and okro using delidawa and it turned out so yummy You could hear my help murmuring *this soup is so yummy" from her room she couldn't stop talking throughout last night Hubby licked up his plate❤
Ify, I admire your willingness to teach others about your people, and food culture. I’m excited about learning to better cook Nigerian cuisine through you. Thank you so very much. Ignore the negative comments, and feedbacks of others. They’re very sad, lonely people.

I never liked ogbono my whole life until someone mixed Egusi soup and ogbono in one plate and told me to try it. The soups were cooked separately o. Then I tried it, it was okay. So if I want to eat ogbono now, I'll have to add Egusi soup to it for me to be able to swallow it.
I’m traumatized watching her mix the egusi mixed with PEPPER 🌶️ with her hand 😂😂😂😂 that might make me not try this out if it must be Mixed with my hands
