I found this channel is very helpful for postgrad students. But, I try to apply for free coaching service and it is not working. I wonder if you tell us viewers from which countries or states are eligible for the free coaching service. thank you!
Glad that you've found it useful! At this stage, private coaching services are available in the UK & US, as well as a handful of other countries. We will provide updates as we expand our coaching team to more regions. Please note that we do not offer free coaching - we provide a free initial consultation to assess each student's situation and discuss which aspects we can assist with. The details of our services are explained in-depth on our website. We wish you all the best with your research :)
My university has set out the structure: lit review, methodology, discussion and analysis, conclusion. What do I write in the discussion and analysis part? Is the discussion presenting the 'results' and the analysis critically analysing the results? Please help!
So it looks like your university wants a combined chapter. In that chapter, you'd both present the data (analysis) and discuss the meaning of the data (discussion).
Hi Dina. I'd suggest having a look at a dissertation/thesis database such as oatd.org/ to find examples. It's also a good idea to look at dissertations from your own university's database, as that will give you a better idea of the institutional norms.
It isn't clear if new literature should be introduced in the Discussion. As far as I am aware, this should not be the case as you should only compare and contrast against your literature review, but you have alluded to the fact this might not be the case?
Typically you wouldn't introduce new lit in this section, correct. However, there can be some variation between universities in terms of what's expected/accepted. Also, it can sometimes make sense to introduce new literature in cases where the data revealed unexpected results (i.e. new literature can help explain such instances).
