@topklassphotography That will just for the OBD reader but then you have to pay for a subscription which i think is about £70 for the year I cancelled mine
Thanks for having me on again! Funnily enough, we’re in the U.S. right now and Ben is with us too! Outside sits a Tesla CyberTruck were road tripping, I shot you not 😂
Touch “Formica” it keeps building as an og subscriber ( sub number 1997 of auto Alex lol) you have to be of a certain age/worldly wise to even know what Formica is though I’m in great shape and have zero rigamortice 😂

I enjoy the videos but all feels a little forced. The limo one last week was an almost identical copy of the car wow one a few months earlier. I get certain things are for views but its too exaggerated at times. I drive a motorhome of similar length and don’t struggle getting round regular corners.
@@ScouseSpongeI’ve got to agree. I just can’t get on with the presenters. Just Doesn’t work for me. There are way better channels that need the views like furious driving. Just a guy restoring old cars and really likeable.
All 3 main channels are completely different but also completely brilliant. Well done to everyone involved and thank you for filling the gap now TG and GT are finished
Alex has been in the TH-cam game for a long time now. He has looked after his close friends and helped them express themselves on TH-cam, buy the pub and I’ll come and have a pint 🍺. Great podcast 👍🏼.
I remember they told us not to turn up early because we will be turned down and forced to wait. I think gates opened at 11 and we must of got there between 1 and 2. But we were patient and when we got in, we had a blast. On another I feel like you've definitely improved with talking with alex, you let him speak about the issues and didn't but in. I appreciate, thankyou
114 million views across all the channels under the autoalex umbrella this guy is great I love all the content pumped out by all the channels I’ll keep watching till my eyes fall out what a great guy Alex is and his team props to them all keep up the good work guys ❤️
Me and my brother came over from Ireland and were in the queue for Shedfest for about 3 hours. Worth it though. We eventually got in and had a great time...seen everything we wanted to see. Great show. My best to Alex and all the crew. Respect to Ben too. Love the podcast/content!
I probably wouldn't watch a Q&A like this for anyone else, but Alex is such a great personality and his story and success is so worth listening to I can easily make an exception. I get the Top Gear vibe from the channel, because the fun challenges were always so rewarding to watch.
Super excited about the pub hub and meeting you, I might have the courage to come and say hello next time. all the luck in the world with your dream Alex. Drew 👍
I met Alex and Gareth at Caffeine and Machine a couple of months ago and what a couple of great guys they are, they both took the time to chat and have a picture with us. I can honestly say that I love Alex and the whole crew and everything they do, even "My Wife" enjoys all of their antics too. Great podcast as always Ben, keep up the good work all of you.
I was in a real dark place a few months ago and my knee was blown out and fed up I hadn't caught up on the aa podcast for a few months and I just watched about 7 hours in one go and it made me so much happier. The multiverse cheers me up and makes my day on every upload
This is first awareness I even had that TDC was an autoalex channel. Always just assumed it was mates sharing a unit to share the burden. That in itself shows hes done a great job letting it stand on its own 👍🏻
Great interview again Ben. Love all the Auto Alex, "et al" posts. You're all turning into a great gang of TH-camrs. Enjoying all of your contents. Can't remember the last time I even watched TV. Keep it up boys. More collabs with you all would be great. Thanks for the Podcast. 👌👍😀
Alex, you hit the nail on the head with the term relatable. Not quite on the back of your ethos I bought myself a sh1tbox in May 23. I was toying with the idea of buying a “backuo” motor for my silly run about (C6 RS6). So I can quite easily do what you do all day. Thats what alot of your viewers like. I love my 30 year old Astra Estate and gets as much attention as the Audi. Well done, keep it up. STILL cant forgive Taylor for ditching the Allegro though !
We had a brilliant day at Shedfest 2024. Drove down from Newcastle that morning, got to Mallory Park just before opening time and got in without an issue. Not your fault Alex, shit happens. Can't wait for next year. Can you not make it as Teeside Autodrome or Elvington, York. Selfish I know, but it's closer to home! Haha! Keep up the good work guys!
I think alex has done a one of a kind thing, I don't think we'll get someone like alex or the crew on the platform again. To take what you have and to expand it and to also pull of something like all the gear, it's unique for sure. you really only have one life, if you find something you love...crack on with it.
I feel like all he needed was an ice breaker business wise and understandably so, it is really scary, but once he got that now he is much more confident to invest more and more. Honestly it's great to see people who find the strength to conquer their fears❤
Aa2 and tdc have been some of the best car content ive watched in a long time dont get it wromg i love auto alex but theres somthing about taylor and the tdc guys that i absolutely love
he's spot on about people generally not understanding what it takes to run even a terrible youtube channel, let alone a successful one. It's a 24/7/365 job you get paid nothing to do. At least at my level.
Absolutely love you guys. Even the BMW content. Maybe you should start a bmw only channel. I’d watch! Excited for the road trips as we need something to fill the gap TGT and TG finishing have left. Ignore any haters and move past shedfest and get the next one in the diary. And if you come to Australia let us know!
Honestly, the @AutoAlex multiverse is the fresh of breath air we all needed in the automative media. They are just a random bunch of guys (most of whom came together a while back, but they all came from random backgrounds nonetheless) who just love cars, and they share that passion together, and showing us all that you can enjoy a car even if it is a shit box (for lack of a better terminology). I used to love my '98 Polo, you can have fun in any car you want to have fun in. @MightyCarMods is the first automotive YT channel I followed as a teen, and I grew up with it, I still follow it. AutoAlex brings about the same aura - just normal dudes having fun with what they love doing. A shoutout to @MatArmstrong as well. Personally, these 3 channels are the holy trinity of automotive TH-cam. I wonder if any of these guys realise how much they help their viewers in different ways!
The algorithm chat is so true - I'm expecting my first child in Jan and my algorithm is Shitboxes and Babies !! HAHA! Have followed the channels for years and they get me through constantly.
Lol Alex at baby algorithm, funnily enough I caught up with and binged your content when my son was born last year, 3am back patting in a dark room with tv on you need some great content to watch! You are bang on about investment and freedom to make good viewing. I’m like you, generally drive a shitbox even into my 40s, had new cars and not overly fussed. Currently have a Phaeton V8 petrol, mk2 golf with a VR6 in it and a straight piped mk2 TT. TT makes an astonishingly good means to get my boy to sleep… think it is the constant drone…
i first started watching tdc before i found out about alex haha, but i love both channels a lot and you guys teach me a lot about cars. All while keeping it fun to watch
Get a set of scan gauges, especially if you're running a sprinter van. It will give you live data while you're driving, as well as codes. You'll have a lot less codes when you can watch the parameters in real time
When advertising Carly don’t forget to mention that it’s not a one rime purchase but a subscription service. And also it doesn’t work with every vehicle and can sometimes completely brick the vehicle that will require recovery to dealership and about 5h labour rate to code all control modules back to the vehicle.
alex leaving carthrottle is the best thing he could have done. He's proven he can entertain and has good ideas, he's got the reach now after proving it. He's best without limits or red tape, and it's showing because the content continued from day1 of going 'solo' his model of being nice wouldn't work for a large business, but as a small business, it's perfect and looks after all of his folks.
"if we can do that by fucking around with cars, and getting paid for it aswell, so we can keep fucking around with cars and making people happy, then that is like the best thing" A quote that everyone enjoyed
Going on what you said about imagining the 500k people. Have a look at Metallica playing in Russia in 1991. That's been estimated at something like 1.5 million people
Instead of the Nurburgring, you might try and do the same kind of videos with the amazing twisty racetracks you've got in England: Oulton, Cadwell, Anglesey... B roll footage from the track and the surroundings, showing the whole place like others already do with the Ring
@sparkys_garage not necessarily, I suppose they could sign a commercial filming contract during a track day, without the need to book an entire session for themselves. Some tracks and organizers allow walkaround shooting when there are no sessions running
I went to Shedfest earlier this year, and I was not aware of the problems people had getting in until I saw it on the auto Alex channel. Really looking forward to the 2025 Shedfest, for my purely selfish point of view, it was the first time I had been to Mallory Park, since May 21, 2001. I think it was 2:06 in the afternoon when I crashed my bike during a race at the Cascades complex, which is a fast right then left before you go up to the hairpin. I crashed on the right handler. I broke ribs two, three and four, smashed my shoulder blade into three bits, I dislocated my right shoulder, broke my radius bone took a triangular a piece of bone out of it. I had to have my elbow rebuilt and a 6 inch plate in my radius bone. Oh yeah, and I punctured my lung. Funny really, it wasn't the crash that did it. It was the bike that was coming up behind me hitting me in my back right shoulder. Folding me in half and he didn't even have the decency to knock me out! Two weeks in hospital followed by a few months of not being able to use my right arm properly. That is why I actually went to that part of the circuit, which has now been changed, possibly for safety reasons? Anyway, regardless all that when can I book my tickets for the next Shedfest? I remember talking to my girlfriend at the time when it was Ethan Jack and Alex. I consider them along the lines of the holy Trinity. Alex being a bit along the lines of the Clarkson figure, Ethan, the closest thing to a sensible type (James May) and Jack being the one left over, so I guess he had to be Richard Hammond. I was a little bit put out when you were dissing the over 50s lot. I am one of those over 50s, actually I'm 58 but that just means I have had a lot more time messing about with cars and motorbikes and I am more and more obsessed every day as my girlfriend (now ex-girlfriend) will tell you. She was always telling me I was ordering too many parts for cars and spending too much time on them, and we have to have money to eat. Since she has left, I spend a lot less on food and a lot more on cars I'm considering buying a third car, which will be the first time I have actually own three at one time, just because… I'm thinking of buying a Nissan leaf with a shitty battery and plug it in in the communal garden outside my first floor flat. Whatever happens, make sure there is at least one Shedfest type event next year, loving the auto Alex Multiverse, all the best for the future.
watching this now and TDC latest video has been out 5 hours and is already at 110k views, they are killing it. whats with the timing of this video ben? Alex said can you wait until the end of september to release and its onlt been put on on 3rd november
Owning a bar/pub/bike cafe would be awesome as a petrol head, it'd take on a whole new dynamic. I totally hope you do it, just don't pull a richard rawlings and get screwed in the process.
FYI on the 10 month pregnancy explanation, as women get told that it’s 40weeks pregnancy and told it’s 9 months, but obvs 40 weeks works out more than 9 months 😂😂😂
Think Carly is great, but it concerns me that it could encourage people to just keep blindly resetting. Garages keep doing it too. My dad had a 2004 Toyota RAV 4 that he had an accident in - a car hit the right front wheel, heavily damaging the suspension and bodywork. My dad had it fully repaired at local repairer that his insurers sent it to. All good - ish. The engine management light kept coming on, along with the warning lights saying the abs and traction control weren’t working. His Toyota dealer kept saying it was just environmental control blah blah, kept resetting it, blah blah. I was adamant they were totally wrong and he should take it to different dealer. He took it to an independent dealer for its major service and mentioned the problem. The garage rang him later in the day to ask him if the car had been in an accident. When he asked why, they explained he’d looked at brake discs and pads, noticed some trim that had been badly fitted. They then put two and two together, and replaced the abs sensor on the front right. Which was bad,y cracked in two places. And tripping the system out meaning no abs and no traction or stability control.
TDC and All The Gear are my favourite youtube channels. I used to religiously watch AutoAlex but have since unsubscribed as I just find it repetitive and annoying. TDC and All the gear are awesome and they’re content is just so good.
I’d say this channel is the opposite. Clickbaity titles aren’t creative and he always seems to be trying to set up a dramatic revelatory moment from his guest instead of just letting an authentic conversation unfold. Feels very manufactured for attention grabbing moments.
I suppose the idea of running out of content eventually is a bit daunting. But at the same time they’re only filming using the 💩 boxes that are available currently. As time goes on some of the cool more modern cars will have depreciated enough that they’ll be at the same level of 💩 box as some of the cars Auto Alex has had on their channel. And those newer cars will have their own unique characteristics and flaws that the team can exploit. Plus places and destinations change over time so doing a top gear style challenge in one place today has the potential to be totally different in 10 years time
u guys need maxwell millz,he would fit in so well with you guys ,and do a cross over with mcm and 4/d 24.7 youtube would explode! bmw"s suck,i had a 730sei auto....spent more time pushing it than driving....
Alex’s catchphrase from quite early on has been a Breweresque “old aht yerrand”. The way his content is heading, with trips to Thailand etc in the pipeline, he needs to change it to “on that bombshell”. Alex & pals are very quickly filling those shoes, and I don’t see anyone else doing the same 👍
I do wish people would leave the whole "Top Gear Trio / Holy Trinity" thing alone. No one will replicate that level of magic and so many have got caught up in chasing that, including the BBC themselves. It'll never work - you should really want to get out of their shadow and not focus on "recreating x, y, z" by travelling to the same destinations. It's never as good as the first time around - you're not Top Gear / the Grand Tour and trying to carry that off is too much of a burden, regardless of how many views you get on TH-cam; you'll never be satisfied. The budget, the production value etc - you'll never match all that as a TY channel. Not trying to be a Debbie Downer, but if we're moving into a different era then "content creation" should also move to try and make the subject matter original wherever possible, rather than a pastiche of something people have already seen and love - it's like trying to repaint the Mona Lisa.
Top Gear was successful because of the writers. Throttle House is brilliant because of the writers. Auto Alex do not have the writers or the talent to write fantastically engaging and funny material.
Use Code: ROAD2SUCCESS for 15% off And Grab a Carly for your Vehicle HERE - bit.ly/ROAD2SUCCESS_CARLY_OFFER
is this an annual payment or a one off for the carly and its functions
@topklassphotography That will just for the OBD reader but then you have to pay for a subscription which i think is about £70 for the year I cancelled mine
BRO your podcast is great, but please fix that microphone hiss that you have going on, I know it's a van, but it hurts after 30 mins of listening.

Taylor for president

Most American typo ever😂😂
To be honest "all the gear" has quickly become my favourite of the channels.
Me too… definitely the same DNA, but refreshingly different content 😊
Agreed
Yes agree with this
Agree, although I do need to note, I like pretty much all of the channels
TDC is the only one I watch now...
Huge amount of respect to Alex and the entire team. Not only for having the balls to quit a secure job to follow a passion (and massively pulling it off), but for understanding what his viewers want to see, and delivering quality content across all of the AA channels. The success is deserved.
TDC is the GOAT of the AA multiverse.
i do like abit of Cleetus too.
I'd prefer AA and ATG
100% and the podcast too. Proper car guys geeking out
Alex's channels are thriving. Massive respect to all of them
The AA empire is the best thing to happen to car TH-cam. TDC especially are smashing content at the moment!
All 3 main channels are completely different but also completely brilliant. Well done to everyone involved and thank you for filling the gap now TG and GT are finished
Anything auto Alex is top quality , every week I look forward to every little bit of content even the stuff from the multiverse
Me too
If you like coil overs and the Nurburgring it’s probably great.
Alex has been in the TH-cam game for a long time now. He has looked after his close friends and helped them express themselves on TH-cam, buy the pub and I’ll come and have a pint 🍺. Great podcast 👍🏼.
It's crazy to realise that the AutoAlex channel isn't even 3 years old yet but it's become quite the business already.

The AA channel all took us by surprise and overtime it flurished.
Then Jack, Ethan etc joined it just screamed more and more "Top Gear vibes"
jack and ethan is like james and hammond doing the public transport sections of races but no clarkson
Love all the channels. They're all true to themselves, nothing forced for views.

Ben, you've got to look into some basic audio compression for these mate. The louds are just too loud.
So cool that you got a photo with Alex back in the day :)
Hands down the best bit watching auto Alex is it’s just lads being lads . Cars , shit cars , banter and the occasional tinnie

Dont buy a pub. Money pit.
Yea worst business ever is bars and clubs

You should have Rory on the podcast
He is sat next to me now and just smiled at this hahaa
Really enjoyed this one, thanks fellas
Glad you enjoyed it
Just clearing persistent fault codes is not keeping your vehicle in 'tip top condition' 🤣🤣
Alex is alright 👍
Just down the road from you is The Bull at Barkham, which is shut………. just saying. Not the biggest carpark to be fair.
Owning a bar/pub/bike cafe would be awesome as a petrol head, it'd take on a whole new dynamic. I totally hope you do it, just don't pull a richard rawlings and get screwed in the process.
What happened with Richard?
@ the full story is online somewhere but basically the restaurant owner took him for a massive ride and screwed him over. It sounded pretty rough
JP lives in Dortmund, not Hamburg
FYI on the 10 month pregnancy explanation, as women get told that it’s 40weeks pregnancy and told it’s 9 months, but obvs 40 weeks works out more than 9 months 😂😂😂
All the gear is such a weird and goofy offshoot it's one one my favorite channels sorry Alex 😅
47:52 No he is living in Dortmund
TDC on top
Let’s go!!!!!
If you can't work out what's wrong with your baby, plug in a Carly
I do quite like this channel, but why do these people say I’m a creative person you just interviewed people, that’s not creative
I’d say this channel is the opposite. Clickbaity titles aren’t creative and he always seems to be trying to set up a dramatic revelatory moment from his guest instead of just letting an authentic conversation unfold. Feels very manufactured for attention grabbing moments.
Smart guy that alex. Working for a boss, and then he left and made a new channel and immediatly got many followers. Because of his known face
Does Carly REALLY look after your van ? Clearing a code does not mean it’s fixed. Does Carly Regen a DPF on a new Land Rover ?

Intro spoils everything :/
40 weeks pregnant, that is 10 months based on 4 weeks, but 9 normal months.
Plus places and destinations change over time so doing a top gear style challenge in one place today has the potential to be totally different in 10 years time
He lost me at 51:25 lol
u guys need maxwell millz,he would fit in so well with you guys ,and do a cross over with mcm and 4/d 24.7 youtube would explode! bmw"s suck,i had a 730sei auto....spent more time pushing it than driving....
who's the new guy AA has pinched?
Rory been missing lately though
So who is to blame for spelling centre wrong?
Top Gear was successful because of the writers. Throttle House is brilliant because of the writers. Auto Alex do not have the writers or the talent to write fantastically engaging and funny material.
