"Ale is the glue. She keeps things together." I couldn't agree more.... 🤘rock on, my friend 🤘
🤘
Yep, and the girls would echo that sentiment. Ale is the stage-mom that keeps things working on time. If there is ever a problem the others look to her to get back on track. She is the reason they can still put on an awesome performance when they lose the click-track during technical difficulties.
I can't think of another bass player with her stage presence, and skill.
@@RussInCanada Ale is great, but she is no Steve Harris or Geddy Lee.
Yet.
But it isn't about comparing any of them to anyone else. They are all perfect for this band, and that is what matters.
@tay13666
She has more technical ability than either of them.
I love Geddy's playing. I even own one of his sig basses, but he learned to play by listening to Cream and Who records. Ale is trained in classical piano, and jazz for bass. She has perfect timing and perfect pitch, and has been sponsored by Spector basses since she was 13. She was in Berklee when she was 10. Theory wise, she can run circles around Geddy.
Steve is a fantastic composer, and really good bass player, but here's his music theory knowledge:
"On music theory;
I know what “crotchet and a quaver” is [a quarter note and an 8th note], but that’s about it.
On scales;
I don’t know what scales are."
Minds were Blown. Faces were Melted. Heads were Banged. Fans were Made!
You forgot that a roof was lost!!
@@travisdecheno5670 Last I heard, NASA was still tracking that venue roof, it just passed the orbit of Saturn on its way out of the Solar System! hehe hehe
This was my first Warning watch about a year ago. I have been a HUGE fan ever since.
Dany’s facial expressions are fucking next level. Ale is in mega rockstar mode. Pau well Pau is on steroids.
Sums it up well. Thanks.
Finally! Someone who give Ale the credit due to her!
98% of the people at this performance were not there to see The Warning. Yet, by the end of their set they had the crowd totally hooked!
You would t know it.
This was part of the Extended Stage at the MVAs. It was shot the Friday before the show along with two other artists. They were the only artist to do the recording in one take. After their performance the MTV producer exclaimed “Holy shit! I’m a fan!” Sadly, MTV only played 50 seconds of the video during the show. But TW attended the show dressed to the nines and were featured in a number of high end fashion magazines online - Vanity Fair, Cosmopolitan, Vogue.
Thanks Dave! Great info! These ladies stepped it up for this one for sure.
Pau's scream of destruction on this is so good, it brings me to tears every time.
Doesn't she look all sweet and innocent . . . that smile . . . and then . . . SCREAM OF DESTRUCTION - yeah, na - absolute dynamo. I'm sure that smile was just her anticipating that moment 'New crowd hmmm. They have no idea what's coming' . . smile smile
@@balthusT1 watch Ale's smirk when her and Dany are circling each other. She knows no one else in the room knows what's coming up...
@@jasonremy1627Yeah - its beautiful to watch :) That VMA show would have been awesome to see live
It always brings me to laughter. The pure animal joy of it.
Ale's Superpower is her mysteriousness...
Ale is great on bass, but no one ever talks about how she fills in the bottom of their harmonies. She has great vocal range and control. She needs to be acknowledged for that, also.
You are right. These ladies can do it all.
She also sings lead very well too but doesn't feel comfortable doing it. But she fills in for Dany when she feels like she needs a little break.
In live chats Pau and Dany always say Ale is the backbone of the band. She never gets out of time and has perfect pitch. They have had 5 or 6 shows where their computer failed and they just look at Ale and let her lead them. Earlier this year the first time they opened for their idols Muse Ale tripped and fell on her butt less then 2 minutes in to their first song. She never missed a beat just kept on playing as a tech ran on and picked her up from behind.
Wow that’s an incredible story and I’m so glad she didn’t get hurt. That’s a pro for sure.
I read that they had 3 attempts to record their 2 songs and they only needed one each time (unlike the others)
Wow not surprised. They seemed ready for this.
"OK, MTV, I want everybody to put their hands up right now. And when I say everybody, I mean everybody! That's it. Keep 'em up, keep 'em up! AHHHHHHH!"
One great thing about the video and this audience is that The Warning had about 2 fans in the audience... before they played! That crowd was there for the other 2 artists that played before The Warning, but no problem the girls won them over!
Wow I would not have guessed that. Thanks
Some of the things you noticed about this performance were actually in, but not emphasized in, the original music video. That's why it's always best to listen to The Warning live, where they have control of the performance. You will enjoy any and every song from the Teatro Metropolitan concert.
Thanks I’m working my way through those ones too.
I saw them live six times this year and last - and you're right, their performances have become even better. And the *first* time I saw them was one of the best rock concerts I'd ever seen ... it's like I'll have to find a whole new set of superlatives to describe them.
Wow that’s a lot of times Norm. Totally worth it though.
Agreed. For me, November 2021 to the present day, watching videos that convinced me that I had to go see a live band for the first time in many years, then seeing them live three times, then seeing the MTVVMA and Mexican tour videos. They've been growing by leaps and bounds.
The post-chorus hook in 7/4 (at least I would transcribe it that way since the 1/4 note keeps the beat. Maybe alternating 4/4 & 3/4) is one of the things that drew me into this song the first time I heard it. I really like when bands through in some thoughtful odd meter in such a way that most listeners don't even realize it.
Bob, I just got back from a week in Mexico watching these three in Monterrey (their home town) and Mexico City. They were off the charts. In front of an audience is where they belong. All three charismatic in their own way. And, yes, if we do not follow Pau, we are in trouble.
Actually 7/8 is what Pau said it’s written in FWIW.
Awesome info and man that’s cool you got to see them live. Everyone says they are incredible live. I’ve got to see them.
The riff is in 7/8 not 7/4.
@@gregoryvlchek269 Apparently Paulina has said it is in 7/8. When I transcribed it, I thought it fell better into 7/4 since it would be far easier to conduct that way. Either way, it is an odd meter that sets it apart from most rock/pop songs.
@@oldmanyeni1663 , well, Paulina (as well as Dany and Ale) is a Berklee-College-of-Music trained musician/drummer so, respectfully, I'll give deference to her technical interpretation and expertise regarding the actual time signature. (I'm a lifelong drummer as well, and I'd count it as 7/8, too.). Thanks for your input though! Have a good day! 🤘
Bob thanks for your reaction and analysis. The Warning got great exposure on MTV. The Warning Army is on the march and growing by the day.
Yep that was big for them to get that exposure in MTV. They stepped it up for the performance too.
If you have not seen these beautiful Latinas live I strongly suggest you do, they put on a phenomenal show I saw them twice in one year Austin and San Antonio I traveled over 300 miles but didn't care didn't get to see them before covid hit so I treated me and some friends
I was in San Antonio also
Sweet. I’ve gotta check them out. Too busy with teaching right now though.
@@bobcieslinskiwhen the opportunity strikes, take two sick days - one to go see The Warning, the second to recuperate from the chest injuries you'll get from Ale and Pau's bass and drums onslaught, to rest your neck from rubbernecking Dany's moves on stage and your shoulders from constant clapping, especially when Pau commands you. Wear musician plugs, though. Then report back here.
The Warning thrive in the live setting! Hands down one of the very best live bands on the planet!
They really seem to be Robert. They killed this one.
They have raised their art to a whole, new level. Absolutely EPIC. Great reaction Bob!
Thanks! They sure have.
I've watched this performance probably a dozen or more times.
From their music video to numerous other live performances I think this one is killer.
It sure is killer.
The first time you reacted to Evolve 8 months ago was actually a recording from their March 2022 concert when they opened for the Foo Fighters. So from then until last month when this performance aired has been 18 months.
Well it sure shows. They’ve done a lot of work and have turned things up a few notches.
Great reaction! These 3 are fantastic. Can’t wait to hear more The Warning from you!
More to come! Thanks!
These young ladies are fantastic! They deserve all of the success in the world.
They are top class. My favourite band since I discovered them. Watch them rise.
I hope the band since they played at MTV awards gains them more exposure. They are such a great band that they deserve the notarity.
I think they will. They had that crowd right where they wanted them.
The opening riff is great and it's even better when they transition to it from the chorus: 2:24 Their energy in this performance was through the roof!
It was through the roof and Dany is always on another level energy wise.
Hey Bob. MTV still doesn't know what hit them. Did you notice that EVERYONE did what Pau told them to. LOL. They absolutely killed it. I agree, Ale holds it all together. She has great basslines throughout, and are one of my favorite parts of their music, love that they are high enough in the mix. Pau did scream in the studio version, just much more noticeable, with some added energy, live. They also played "More" here, afaik the only professionally shot live version available to date.
Hey Chris! Yep they had the crowd right where they wanted them. Wow!
They've never stopped evolving, getting more complex and accomplished at every stage of their careers so far. They're definitely at the top of the food chain now! Apex Rock beasts!
You said it Tony. I was blown away at the growth they have made since I first heard this one. They are destined for greatness.
They simply destroy It!!! 🥰😎🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I’m a relative newcomer to discovering this band. They are very talented and amazing musicians and song writers. Pau is a fireball! Love her energy.
They all have such energy. I think in time they will be superstars.
@@bobcieslinski I hope so, they certainly are putting in the work and it shows in their live performances. I hope I get the chance to see them some day.
I've been holding my hands up since I first saw this video. Can I put them down now, Pau?
Better to be safe…
Only if you want to. 😂
Just to be safe I'd say wait til Pau says it's ok. You do *not* want to cross Pau, you might get an angry song written about you 😂
@@fourortwelvestringsTrue! It does NOT go well for those who make her mad!
Best part is that the guy in the plaid shirt and a couple others were apparently the only people there that knew who The Warning were. He was excitedly telling everyone around him what they were about. Everyone else there was seeing this band live, for the first time, and legitimately losing their minds.
Thanks Russ!
Thanks for the reaction Bob, I never get tired of watching this performance! They gave each performance, on the side stage, three takes to get it right, TW was the only one that needed just one(of course)!!!👏😊⚡️
No shock there. These ladies just do it and they do it so well too. Wow!
Before this performance, they'd been on a world tour throughout the early Spring and Summer in the US and Europe, so at this point, they were a well-oiled performance machine.
Always kudos to a PRS guitar player! A three piece band is always difficult to continually turn out good music, but this was a nice song, much more my pace, lol. I believe they started with a lot of cover songs, but seems they are graduating to their own compositions. I would like to hear the guitar brightened a bit in tone as the distortion along with the bass tends to blend a bit much for me, but everyone has their own sound. A band to keep an eye (ear?) out for the future!
Yes they are on the rise for sure. Good call in the blending between bass and electric guitar. Everyone has their own likes and dislikes in that though. I can’t remember do you play a PRS?
@@bobcieslinski I do play a PRS. There are, as with most things, many criticisms about PRS, usually pricing since quality is quite good, even from the overseas shops. A private stock PRS can go for up to $15K which is a lot of money for a guitar. Usually an $800 PRS SE (the overseas version) is fine for most of us. Kanami from Band Maid plays and I believe also represents PRS.
they wrote and play their own music since 2015 (their records are all own music)
Guy, they graduated with honours a few years ago 😜😁
Still love this song as much as I did the first time (which was your reaction to the music video 7 months ago). I'm deep into the rabbit hole and lovin' it! Thanks for both of your great reactions to this song.
Thanks John! I’m glad you are enjoying them because I am too. They are incredible and it seems like they are improving incredibly fast.
@@bobcieslinski; yes, they still are improving and growing. Can't wait to hear their new album to be released soon.
@@johnnordberg6904can’t wait
Hey Bob! Great reaction as always! Dany said that when they wrote this song they didn't have Pau's scream of destruction originally. She said that she thought the bridge was missing something cuz of how it builds up to a crescendo and nothing happened, so Pau decided to do a scream there. I obviously agree about Ale, she's the secret weapon. Happy Dany Day 🤘🎸!
Hey Cap nice to hear from you again. They were epic. Wow! Thanks!
I've seen this uncountable times and it never gets old for me. Spectacular.
The sisters can't stop killing it! Keep up the good work, Bob!
Thanks Greg!
Yes, the main riff is in 7/8. Also, the "minor-sounding chord" is known in musical terms as an 'accidental 2nd'. If you're not already aware, all three girls are Berklee-trained in music theory and composition. They KNOW how music works.
Has to be 7/4
Y'all should have seen my face when i first heard them. Runnin in circles searching for my phone to shazam the song. It was evolve. It was fucken revolution for my brain. Finally good rock music these days!!!
I’m very done that with Shazam. Great app. Epic songs by The Warning.
To be fair - that crowd was TOLD to be supportive and loud, this was a produced MTV crowd, but still, our ladies took them to new levels. The crowd was pulled along with it.
You have to listen to the new songs, especially "Hell you call a dream" Dany's voice is IMPRESSIVE.
I’ll have to check those out. Thanks.
I honestly love this performance so much
In that 7months they have been touring with Muse. I’m sure that they have learned a lot from those guys a similar 3 piece band who have been killing it live for 20 years.
They are pretty awesome. They really hit it big with the twilight movie. Until then they were an alt band with a following but not mainstream.
Great reaction! Thank you! No importa que tan buena sea la grabación en estudio, ellas siempre dan lo mejor en vivo. Ese es su lugar, el escenario y su público (poco o mucho), es su ámbito natural. Gracias! Esperamos tus reacciones
Thanks so much I appreciate the kind words.
Love your reaction! I just discovered these wonderful young women about a week ago, and I have been listening to them non-stop ever since. I commend you for noticing that that riff is in 7/8 time. You are the first reactor I've seen, and believe me I've watched a lot of them, that even noticed that. Hat's off to you, sir. One of the funny things that I've noticed about this band is that Dani never plays any flashy leads....and I don't miss them one bit. These girls just overflow with so much joy and passion (even on their darker songs-Choke comes to mind here) that fancy leads would just be a distraction. They know what they're doing.
𝘿𝙖𝙢𝙣, they're good.
Respect.
Oh, and you have a new subscriber!!
Great reaction👌👌👌🤟🤟🤟
This 3 piece is up there with best
amazing performance! 🤘🏻⚡️🔥💯💯🏆
The wide-eyed, "Pau Scream" look at 5:22. Perfection.
They kinda remind me of Dream Theater! So much talent especially for a 3 piece band!
The Warning is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Greetings from Argentina
I am continually amazed, and confounded, how The Warning, BandMaid, Nemophila and the like have 500-600k subs, and the likes of Taylor Swift and BTS have millions. So much unappreciated talent by the (Dumb)Masses.
Yep you are right and great play in words there. I think there is a place for everything though. I will occasionally listen to. Taylor Swift song. You can find value in just about anything. These bands being under appreciated is a total shame though because they have so much to offer. Until I started this channel I never knew they even existed. We just have to spread the word and help them out.
Keep in mind that you don’t elevate one group by denigrating another. I’m not a fan of Taylor or BTS, but I wouldn’t think less of someone who is.
there are videos' of idiots doing stupid things for 20 secs and have millions of likes its mind blowing
The odd time bit has to be 7/4 because the crotchet pulse is the same tempo as in the 4/4 parts
In some interview I saw. Pau commented on how she and Ale were not always in time. Pau started drumming while watching Ale play the guitar. Like watching her fingers. Wish I could point you to the interview.
Thanks for the info!
They opened all 4 Mexico shows for Muse in stadiums, then Muse liked them so much that they invited The Warning to tour with them in the UK, so they opened all of Muse's stadium shows there, plus they took the opportunity to book some big European festivals, where they played in the afternoon and were afraid that there would be no one, but thousands showed up and chanted their names; they even did some headlining shows for the first time in Europe and sold out. They were even told by Muse's fans that had seen Muse dozens of times, that they were the best opener that they had ever seen and some Muse fans even went to shows that they were not supposed to because they wanted to see The Warning again. So all of this plus them working for years with a vocal coach, music teachers and on their stage presence, all of this combined to make them, what to me is one of the best live act I have ever seen.
Thanks for the awesome info! These ladies seem to capture any audience that will give them a chance. They are destined for greatness with their work ethic.
Excellent my friend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Many thanks!!
They are amazing live. Simply brilliant.
Real music on MTV!! So weird!! Long life to The Warning!!!
Love reaction love the warning 🤘
Thanks and me too.
Ale is shy but I hear that she's so picky with his sister about stay on time and technical things.
I'm a 6'2" guy, and even i'll be intimiated if Pau would scream at me. These ladies will conquer the world, and i'm here to obey. We have been... Warned.
The Warning is on there way!
Hi, Bob! 😀I watched your reaction to this "Evolve" video a second time and noticed that I didn't comment at all the first time. But I HAVE TO!!! I really like your reaction. That is fun. 🤟And this is the absolute best performance of the song!!! Greetings from Germany! 👋
Hey again Micky thanks for going back and watching again. These ladies are incredible especially how they have improved so quickly.
The Warning emerges as a standout rock group with unparalleled professionalism, delivering stellar performances, infectious melodies, and an unparalleled level of energy. Witnessing their talent is truly a one-of-a-kind experience.
Its June 2024 and Ale isn't even 20 years old yet. Who will even forget their first video where she could barely hold a 3/4 bass and sounded like a little mouse? Now she's literally the big sister. Around 3:23 and 6:30 Ale goes into her stance to look at Pau and they just smile at each other, and go about their thing. Just amazing!!!!
They’ve really come along way in a short time.
Great reaction this was extremely epic. 🔥 Best version to date and your description of the dynamic trio is bang on. Cheers Bob 🤟⚡🔥
Thanks Terry! They are incredible rockers.

Esto no es normal...
Está a un nivel galáctico.
The sisters killed this. Much better than the studio version.
Reminds me of Jenny Holzer : PAIN is SHALLOW , JOY IS DEEP .
This is my favorite song by them. And the first song I heard by them.
It’s a great one.
TW was the first EVER Mexican band to be asked to play at the VMA's. Single Mexican performers, yes..... but a band, only The Warning. The girls are so proud to be representing their country. If you think Evolve improved in 7 months, you should see the VMA video of MORE. The 'Wall of Sound' is amazing!!
That could be next for them.
?What could be next?@@bobcieslinski
@@randymarple9830more
Still confused, but I am guessing you might be doing a VMA reaction of MORE?@@bobcieslinski
When Pau tells you to put your hands up, you put your hands up! Great reaction! Your the first reactor to this song (And I'm pretty sure I've seen all of them) that noticed that the riff is in 7/8 time. Hat's off to you sir! Keep up the great work. If you haven't already reacted to the other don't they performed at the MTVA, you simply have to check it out. These girls probably had two fans in the house when they started, but I guarantee there were hundreds by the time these girls were finished with them.
Oh and you have a new subscriber! Keep up the great work
Hey thanks so much for the kind words and sub Ken. I appreciate so much. Glad you will be sticking around. Lots more music to come.

Btw you were right about it being 7/8. This is the first 7/8 song I've learned on guitar.

They put out a little video about how Ale has perfect time and how she gives Pau the side eye whenever Pau gets out of time.
I saw The Warning in August and Liliac on Sunday and got picks from both shows. I think that’s all of the family bands I like.
Pau claimed in her Masterclass as Soundcheck Xpo that she really struggled playing in time after they got back to TW Cave to practice for their live shows after recording Error.
They had switched to David Bendeth’s click and Pau and Ale struggled to stay in time together.
Pau said that to did extra practice with just her and Ale for a fairly long time to get their timing correct and Pau had to intently watch what Ale was playing basically implying that she was playing off of Ale.
If you could just watch Ale throughout a live show you could likely pick out every time someone else makes a mistake because Ale will usually initially grimace a bit and then smile and give a side-eye glance at the offending sister.
Not saying Ale never makes a mistake but she apparently has been analyzed and has an amazingly high note accuracy while performing.
A lot of TWA really like this particular performance for a myriad of reasons with one being how this was mixed because Ale’s backing vocals are very much noticeable in both songs which isn’t always the case.
Not to mention that Dany’s vocal approach was a bit different as she included a bit more distortion in her voice for this song.
@@mjc1389 When I saw them, Dany played part of “Animosity” clean when it should have been distorted. The sisters all shared a smile over that. It was so quick I’m not sure how many people noticed, but I did and all three of them caught it.
Thanks for the great comments! She is something.
🤘🤘
Best band in the 21st century!
Pau's like a metronome full of dynamite back there.
The pickedvup the tempo somewhat over the original video, which gives it more edge
Does anyone know if she said to put our arms back down? Mine have been getting kind of tired since I first saw this performance a few months ago, and I don’t think I want to find out what happens if I let them down before she gives the order to.
Well the thing is they are still young, and of course they are obviously still evolving and growing, improving, of course as they get better known and people buy the albums etc, they can improve the equipment like pedals etc…. From my point of view I hope they continue doing like they are doing now and don’t end up especially with the albums be becoming over produced and take away this primal rock and roll
90% of that crowd never hear of them.
That’s incredible cause I thought the opposite.
TBH, I thought Dany was a little flat in that first verse, but got back to where she should be during the first chorus. As other have said, this was recorded in one take, and Evolve remains my favorite song from The Warning so far.
Even if she was that haooens in live performances. It’s thr adjustments they make that changes everything. She a performer and made those quickly.
