This year's iron colour scheme is clearly black & chrome. I also hate the heel side notch on Ping irons (and I play i210s) but Ping have had that in all irons for decades.
If I played longer irons than a 5i I would be very tempted to combo this with my i210s (replace 4i i210 with 5i G425?) but as I move to hybrids at anything longer than 5i I do not need to bother.
30 degrees for a 7i qualifies as a modern loft rather than a strong loft!

Well I’ve been a hacker for a long time, but on Friday I had my first ever actual real round of golf. I played at the Darwin Golf Course in Marrara in the Northern Territory of Australia. I played 18 holes with my new full set of G425 Ping clubs and was over the moon with the results. I hit a 111, which was 39 over. I walked around the 6073m course in 3h 20 mins which nearly killed me. Next time I am getting a cart.

    Jim Powell speaking.
He says spin is awesome even on off hits. Distance is real good as is dispersion but they are not for him. Well what is for you. I was fitted into these 425 irons and they felt great and performed well for me. I know 3 friends who are playing these 425’s, and they love them. Two were playing the sim irons and one was playing the ts titleist. I should be getting my 425 irons the end of this month. I was playing the older rogues not to be confused with the new callaway rogues. My bag will be as follows. U wedge thru 6 iron ping g 425. 54 degree callaway jaws. Scottie Cameron older Newport putter. 3,4 and 5 big Bertha hybrids. 3 and 5 ping 425 fairway metals and ping g425 Max driver. I have had the ping driver since last March. The dispersion of this 425 driver is the best I have ever owned and the distance is longer by about 9-12. So this is my two cents worth for the Ping g425 clubs.

Take any sport where you have multitude of options for equipment and everyone should go with how they feel. I've seen too many go with the top brands without even trying and then suddenly start playing worse. Or chosen too "pro-level" equipment which require solid foundations in technique.
I used to play pool at pro-am level, most people tend to play with soft/medium tips as they might give bit more spin. I played with hard tips as they give more solid feel to strike. Also I hated dead/soft cues as there is no feel to them and you never really know if you hit well. My arm/muscle memory knew better than my brains when I hit well when you could feel vibrations from tip to end. Did play in one bar close to Bondi. Will always remember that night when couple up as team with gray haired gentleman at least twice my age. We stayed on the table for hours with winner stays gentleman rule. And in the end got bit tipsy for all the won drinks.

I can tell you for certain, any of the JPX Hot Metal irons are way better than the g425's! Even the JPX 900 series. The JPX 918 Hot Metal irons are in my opinion, the best irons available for mid to mid/high Hdcp Players. I'm a 6 Hdcp (terrible putter) and the 918 Hot Metal Pro's are my personal favorites. The JPX Hot Metal irons aren't MP butter blade soft, but they feel way better than the g425's. Honestly, I couldn't imagine ever playing a harsh club like the Pings again. I would demo everything possible, but I can't imagine anyone choosing the g425's over any of the Hot Metal irons.

@@joegvoll6017 I had Ping i200s that needed to be reshafted so I ended up moving on from them. I enjoyed those irons a lot. I don't care if a product is forged, just about performance. I play off of a 9hcp and after seeing the HM yesterday in person, and getting to sit it directly beside of the i200s I traded in, I'll likely go to HMP just based off of blade length. The stronger lofts at the bottom end of the bag will likely require 5 wedges or some 6 degree gaps

I went from a combo set of Mph5's 2-4i & Mp25s 5i-pw, to the Jpx-918 hm pro. But I'm seriously considering the Srixon z585/785's now.
