I understand your struggle. It was hard finding friends to climb with when I started back in the 90s. I found a few local clubs that lead to some great experiences. I use meetup these days, which is very active in my city. Climbing alone is no worries if done right, but usually more fun with friends, and definitely safer. Just tie those back up knots!!
