    Nice review, it’s the little things that make the difference with Arc’teryx. Fit, styling, overall comfort and performance might only be a very marginal bump over other brands but that package can often feel worth it

    Great review, exactly what I was looking for too.
    I also run very cold. I live in NYC, and when standing outside in cold weather, I'm the guy in the group freezing my ass off.
    Would this be okay, or should I go with something that will keep me warmer?

    Hi Desy, good video and a perfect timing for me as well. I was in the market as well for the SV seeing the down, the design and all the technical details. Had my mind set on buying this one, but stumbeld upon the Veilance Monitor Down on offer. Pricing still steep, but only a 150€ difference left. And as that design just triggered me a bit more, I chose that one. its on its way now and hope to be able to enjoy it soon as winter is still here in Europe. Was in the end still wondering how the sizing is to your liking? Im similar in length as you, but a bit heavier (195p), but on the Arc' teryx site all jackets were worn by longer guys but with small sizes. So in the end i chose the Large as thats seems more logical also seeing the measurements of my top. you think it could be wiser to change to a medium?

    • @DesmondCheng
      @DesmondCheng  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The veilance might be different sizing than the arcteryx. so i cant say for that brand. But for arc'teryx therme sv, the medium is perfect for me! I actually do fluctuate in weight, so sometimes i get up to 195lbs lol

  • @ronniep9272
    @ronniep9272 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Great in depth review. Would you say a size large is ok for someone that is 6'2 190lbs.

    • @DesmondCheng
      @DesmondCheng  หลายเดือนก่อน

      thanks! hmmm ur like the same weight as me but taller. I think a size large would be good, but I do find that the medium size I have, I have enough room to have 2-3 layers under neath of vests and puffer jackets

    Should have a "snorkel" hood if to be take seriously as a serious winter jacket,.

    I own the same jacket in a small. Notice any cold spots in the arms? The bicep area doesn't seem to have much insulation. Own the 2016 Therme, 2019 Thorsten as well and they all have the same problem.

    • @DesmondCheng

    Hi Desy! Great video! For reference I’m the same height and around the same weight as you. I was debating on this in a medium or even a small. Do you think considering the size of this jacket, would a small be too small. I’m 5’8, 1950-195ish. If I were to get a small, I’m wondering if it would be too restrictive or would the medium fit just right? Thanks!

    • @DesmondCheng
      @DesmondCheng  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      depends how cold it gets. if it gets to -10C then you will want to layer up! Then I would suggest medium. But if it doesnt get that cold where you are then a small would be more fitted

    Does it wet out easily like on the shoulder at 2:49? Is the down treated to be waterproof? Forgot the term for it..

    • @DesmondCheng
      @DesmondCheng  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      it has a gore tex 2L membrane so the water will not penetrate through all the way! So far i have stayed fairly dry and no water has leaked in over the past 8months of owning it

      The logo is very subtle, its not like Canada Goose. An alternative is Norse Projects which has noblogo at all.
