Nice review, it’s the little things that make the difference with Arc’teryx. Fit, styling, overall comfort and performance might only be a very marginal bump over other brands but that package can often feel worth it
Great review, exactly what I was looking for too. I also run very cold. I live in NYC, and when standing outside in cold weather, I'm the guy in the group freezing my ass off. Would this be okay, or should I go with something that will keep me warmer?
awesome review, your video convinced me to buy the parka! you're def right the hood could be better like how ralle hoods are. whats your secret to keeping it so wrinkle free? yours is impeccable!
Hi Desy, good video and a perfect timing for me as well. I was in the market as well for the SV seeing the down, the design and all the technical details. Had my mind set on buying this one, but stumbeld upon the Veilance Monitor Down on offer. Pricing still steep, but only a 150€ difference left. And as that design just triggered me a bit more, I chose that one. its on its way now and hope to be able to enjoy it soon as winter is still here in Europe. Was in the end still wondering how the sizing is to your liking? Im similar in length as you, but a bit heavier (195p), but on the Arc' teryx site all jackets were worn by longer guys but with small sizes. So in the end i chose the Large as thats seems more logical also seeing the measurements of my top. you think it could be wiser to change to a medium?
The veilance might be different sizing than the arcteryx. so i cant say for that brand. But for arc'teryx therme sv, the medium is perfect for me! I actually do fluctuate in weight, so sometimes i get up to 195lbs lol
thanks! hmmm ur like the same weight as me but taller. I think a size large would be good, but I do find that the medium size I have, I have enough room to have 2-3 layers under neath of vests and puffer jackets
I own the same jacket in a small. Notice any cold spots in the arms? The bicep area doesn't seem to have much insulation. Own the 2016 Therme, 2019 Thorsten as well and they all have the same problem.
Hi Desy! Great video! For reference I’m the same height and around the same weight as you. I was debating on this in a medium or even a small. Do you think considering the size of this jacket, would a small be too small. I’m 5’8, 1950-195ish. If I were to get a small, I’m wondering if it would be too restrictive or would the medium fit just right? Thanks!
depends how cold it gets. if it gets to -10C then you will want to layer up! Then I would suggest medium. But if it doesnt get that cold where you are then a small would be more fitted
it has a gore tex 2L membrane so the water will not penetrate through all the way! So far i have stayed fairly dry and no water has leaked in over the past 8months of owning it
Thanks for the review, I like shells but I have jackets but not with heels, I have a vest with feathers from which the feathers come out, and what about this jacket? Do the feathers come out from the inside? 😊 thank you
i don't know if this is the best winter parka jacket, but pretty sure this is the best video about Therme SV in TH-cam : ) thanks
haha thanks!!
great video dude!! just ordered the therme, wanted it for years, finally can afford to get it alhamdulillah
ah nice!!! congrats on the purchase!

Yeah love Arc'Teryx!
There are many jacket companies out there and I would say Eddie Bauer is my favorite
i haven't worn an eddie bauer jacket, but now im intrigued!
@@DesmondCheng the bomber the parka style and the puffer jacket with 800 fill power with hoods are the best and be patient to look for sales 😎
@@EddieRicks-i8v yeah im all about the sales lol

Great in depth review. Would you say a size large is ok for someone that is 6'2 190lbs.

Should have a "snorkel" hood if to be take seriously as a serious winter jacket,.

i didnt notice it too much but maybe i got more fat on my arms lol
Great video! Will it look good in business/professional context as well? (Wearing a suit)
yes i think so!

Does it wet out easily like on the shoulder at 2:49? Is the down treated to be waterproof? Forgot the term for it..

Beautiful jacket and review. Shame of the logo in the sleeve, why cannot they do a jacket without the logo. Looks very good though.
i personally dont mind the logo on the sleeve!
The logo is very subtle, its not like Canada Goose. An alternative is Norse Projects which has noblogo at all.
Well shot review, but this parka is not really packable.
Thanks for the review, I like shells but I have jackets but not with heels, I have a vest with feathers from which the feathers come out, and what about this jacket? Do the feathers come out from the inside? 😊 thank you
nope, ive owned this jacket for about a year now and not a single feather has come out
