    I really appreciate you making that video, brother. It really helped me out the last 2 times I did the oil change on my Malibu. Thank you

    Good call on the gasket. I did a double gasket on my 86 f150 in 1987. Three miles down the dirt road from home I stopped to take a leak. Truck was clacking like a diesel. Walked 6 miles home and back to get oil and whatnot. Saw where oil had blown out half mile from home. Got her hummied up and truck went on for 400k miles. Taking a leak saved an engine.

    Thanks. I also have a 2013 Malibu and about to do the first oil change since the free ones ran out for my warranty. This video let me know just what I needed.

      Don’t listen to this bozo who says to change your oil every 5k miles. Go by the oil life monitor in your vehicle.

    I have the 2014 and ive never changed the oil on THIS car since ive had it. I usually service my own vehicles mainly to ensure its being done correctly. Thank you for the video. Im inspired ti do it myself again.

    LIKE THE video instructions, ONE THING I Hate on the video is IT IS REVERSE Picture. everything was backwards. it should be Righty Tighty Lefty Loosey. I was flabbergasted when I seen the unbolting going reverse. I was wondering is this new from my older Chevys to this 2015 Malibu? It went different until I seen the OIL Filter lettering backwards confirming the positioning of the image a reversed mirror like one. whew. GREAT video and short enough to follow.

    Where can you jack the car up/place the jack stands? Im a truck guy, so not having a legit boxed frame is a little foreign for me.

    • @AdamJ813
      @AdamJ813  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a spot close to the edge on the frame I jack and put the stands next to where I jacked up at.

  • @joshtaylor1416

    Why dip the new filter in old oil? And just hand tight oil filter you shouldn't need a tool to tighten.

    • @AdamJ813
      @AdamJ813  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just to lubricate the gasket and you also don't want to over tighten, the filter shows you only turn like a turn and a half

    5k mile oil change for full synthetic, and an expensive 20k mile oil filter? *what a colossal waste of time and money* to keep dumping and trashing your expensive oil and filters twice as often as necessary. Did you know that one of the main jobs of the built in oil life monitor, is to prevent people from changing their oil too frequently? Because so many people still think this is 1980, and quick lube shops keep the 3-5k mile oil change myth alive.
