thats an insane truck i just had my 90 tuned by steve at empire its the best thing iv ever done!! haha can't justify a new turbo just yet i had a new re con engine and turbo from turner engineering in 2018 its only done 25k miles since.
just finished watching old red thats going to be legit when its finished.

Wow the sound and performance are great and not a great plume of black smoke when accelerating, it also looks fantastic with those big discs and yellow callipers behind the 18s👍🏻
When dialing these in in terms of tuning we can eliminate as much smoke as required and can achieve a very clean burn if thats what the customer wants but most seem to like a little bit of smoke when taking of. This is a question we always ask our customers to make sure they get what they want (y)

I put a bigger turbo in my TD5 and got about 190bhp, but had to mod the oil drain pipe to a bigger diameter to stop it smoking.

I’d highly recommend a dyno tune on this instead of a plug and play especially considering the exhaust and turbo change
Thanks Paul, but this isn’t ‘plug and play’ Empire Tuning create the maps on the rolling road and then send them over the air to us 💛

Have you guys ever tried fitting the syncro gearboxes slickshift?... Just put one on my 300tdi ..It tightens up the gear changes very nicely

Just went to fix my diff lock light ..led to me noticing a rotten patch in the passenger footwell....I turned the motor around on the drive to fix it and a splodge of oil fell out of the bellhousing drain hole ......engine out to do the rear crank oil seal !!!!!!!....and took the opportunity to put a LOF clutch in on your recommendation.....combined with the slick shift is perfect , wish I had done it years ago !!!!!!!!

Hi, I'm Rodrigo from Costa Rica and I have a Defender 110 td5 which is my daily car and I would like to add a turbo with more output, or at least what I've read. We know the TD5 has lousy output until the turbo kicks in, so VGT helps. But I am undecided and I need an opinion on what will be better. A hybrid tube or a VGT? I don't want it to run, but I do want a good start. My country is very mountainous!!!! Greetings!!!!

What makes the turbo a hybrid. Just interested?
A hybrid turbo basically uses the same housings but with completely different internals, often using more modern materials and different design wheels and sizes which really helps with getting more air into and out of the engine

Looks a great set up, do you have a hybrid offering for a 2.2 TDCI?
I thought the original TD5 manifolds were the issue with heat build up,is there not a custom manifold for this application.
Will it go through an MOT blowing that smoke? And with the new LED lights, as they've just changed the rules on lights.
Lovely vehicle and upgrade, but the exhaust manifold let it down and looked a wee bit manky
Is there anything you could do to that, either an upgrade or modify that one or even ceramicoat coat it, reducing heat, better gas flow and even increase performance / usability in conjunction to the various other mods 🤔

Hi, do you know if the company provides a hybrid service for other gt2052s? I've got a Mercedes hotside frame from a 2.2 and I'm currently grafting it onto a peugeot xud9te, bosch ve'd engine. The turbo dimension wise fits perfectly in the bay due to its small frame size compared to other turbo's but just wish it had abit more to give. Hybridization seems to be the way forward

Did you notice a lot more smoke after fitting the hybrid turbo? Or is that to do with the map you’ve put on it?
Smoke on these can be knocked out so its nice and clean ultimately its the customer's decision in terms of the level of smoke
What do you think about hybrid turbo on 300tdi is it worth the money ? And what power do you think it could make set up correctly ?
Go VNT for a 300TDi it’ll surprise you how much difference they make!

How is the torque at the lower end off road climbing hills?
It’s such a nice delivery of power, plenty of torque. It’s like it’s revitalised this old engine for modern day
