I had the same issue bro. A tip from a Velkoz Sup fella is "focus in use your skills to farm." As a Support we pay all the atention on "land the shots in champs" what allow us forget how to use skills to farm. If u close up in every mid lane game of Azzapp, his always leave the minions with low hp and "execute" them with Q, better prevent. Other mistake I had was upgrade E, instead W, after max Q. I used to up E because the habit of get the knockup available in lvl 2 to trade more agressively, but Velkoz's W is on of the best skills to clean the wave safely, have 2 charges and a line aim.
@@SundaeSander I personally always level w second, even as support. My reasoning is it's better to have three abilities than two (and 5 potential stacks than 2) and 99% of the time, the enemy will have flash up that early. All they have to do at that point is flash your e and they double kill (I tried e 2nd a couple of games and this happened). The hard cc is good, but the zoning damage - or extra damage if they don't respect it - goes a long way. In my opinion of course, I can't tell you how to play, just adding my 2 cents.
@@bendystrawz2832 yeah, u're tottaly right! I quote my skill up "mistake" like a example of decisions we made by habit, but doesn't work well in long term.
@@SundaeSander Thanks! But I wouldn't say I'm objectively right. It's prob better in most cases or as a default across the board if you're unsure, but there are some scenarios where going e second is better. For example, to combo with a Samira passive if she's low while you have a gank coming to get her in safely when you know they don't have f from a level 1 skirmish. Just like there are situations where you might want to start w first, getting into a level 1 5v5 pre minion spawn in a clumped jg where your team has good aoe cc (like Sion+Ashe or something, idk, it's not very common).
this is exactly why I watch azzapp. He's so good at explaining everything at a high level while playing the game.
The positioning to counter the wu and zac at the end was perfection. Definitely going to learn from watching that!!
azzapp has a degree in quantum rizzics
8:35 - proverbial karma proving you wrong 10 seconds after you finished saying that.
@azzapp i know stream snipers are an issue but its alot easier to learn about macro if u move your face cam away from the mini map.
True, but there's not much that can be done. Especially when you're playing at the tip top of the skill ladder
Out of curiosity, what the second champ right after velkoz, u guys play?
nice video, a bit more explanation would be perfect
I have 70% winrate on velkoz support, but when i try mid i absolutely int and i cant farm for shit
