Tux Paint: Creating a personal template

Tux Paint allows you to create new drawings based on existing pictures. One variety of these are Templates. They act as a background to your drawing, and you can use the Eraser tool to expose parts of the original Template.
Now, you can create your own Templates directly within Tux Paint! From the "Open" dialog, click or tap your drawing once to select it. Then, press the "Template" button. Now, when you go to create a new drawing via the "New" dialog, a Template version of your picture is available. Select it and press "Open" to start a new drawing. Notice how the Eraser reveals your original drawing!?
One cool use of this feature is to make simple animations. And don't forget, Tux Paint's "Open" dialog has a "Slideshow" option... plus, you can even export an animated GIF file of a slideshow! Have fun!
(Note: The ability to create new Templates from within Tux Paint was added in version 0.9.31, released in July 2023. GIF export was added in 0.9.25, from December 2020.)
