Great review! Thanks for calling out the awful second hand stutter. Boderry has confirmed in emails that there is a defective movement. This is absolutely not a normal sweep for an 8200 and anyone who has this problem should contact Boderry. I sent mine back to get repaired and 40ish days later, I received a perfectly sweeping second hand.
I think Boderry was hoping enough people would settle on the stutter as a compromise when ordering Chinese watches. However, I feel like I would have wasted my money if I accepted such an obvious defect, especially since I waited so long on delivery of the pre-orders. I had others watches to wear in the meantime.

I appreciate that my man and was exactly what I was trying to say. The 8k series of movements is never a really smooth movement but never have I had one so jittery. I’m glad you got your sorted - enjoy 👍👍

I'm wearing my Titanium Casio Oceanus this morning. They're really nice when you get used to the weight difference. The Boderry is a nice Looking watch. It looks very well made and well finished. Compared with that well known brand, say, the SNK809., which is double that price, it's a steal!. The 8000s are not my favorite movement but I have a few and none have failed me so far.

Wore mine just yesterday. The perfect beater field watch.
Mine has the same jump seconds when the power reserve initially kicks in, after a time on the wrist it smoots out. Just think it is a quirk when it has low power.
Very fair review. It is hard to keep it balanced when your dealing with a $60 automatic watch and managing the expectations of some. Nice job 👏 👍

I've had mine for about a month now and the jumpy seconds hand has not smoothed out. It's really distracting because it also "squeaks" when the seconds hand is struggling. It keeps acceptable time, so for $69 is can't complain TOO loudly. I just wouldn't buy another watch with this movement.

That's a good looking watch Simon! The case finishing looks good.. And $69 for titanium is pretty good. Like the white one. However don't like the movement. I had a watch with it and the stuttering really is bad. My wife even asked me if it was broken as she noticed it stuttering on my wrist. Should have gone with NH38 or even NH35 with the ghost position. Excellent review Simon.

I also got this for $69 on preorder, but with the white dial. Excellent watch. And the white date wheel color-matched the dial 😉. I liked the nato strap but swapped in a rubber strap anyway. One other thing. Boderry said in an email that they are working on a matching titanium bracelet. If it ends up selling for around $25, I’m definitely getting it to complete this watch. Great review as always, Simon. Thanks!

I have had the Voyager for a couple of weeks and actually like it quite a bit more that I thought I would. I ordered the Boderry Sea Turtle and, on a whim thought, "why not get the Voyager, too, since it was pretty cheap and I was paying for shipping already." Although I am not a watch collector, I am an enthusiast, so I have plenty of watches. Until the Voyager I did not have a watch this style & shape. I have looked at the Bertucci's, but not sure I want a fixed lug. The Voyager, however (similar in style) has springbar lugs. As a result, I am wearing it on regular quick release straps because it is thinner and lays well on the wrist. Although it's 40mm in diameter, the face still looks fairly small. The wider, 22mm strap does give it some presence on the wrist. So far, it's been an unexpectedly good purchase.

The stutter is normal, only if the watch is really off from keeping good time, it can be sent back. There is a lot if wrong information being spread about the Myota 8215 movement, the stutter is called an Indirect Drive system, you can find about it online-- In short, I am going to buy one, and people who think that the second hand should always sweep miss out on one of the best deals on earth

Got mine 3 days ago. Mine has the NH 35 movement. I bought it off Amazon because the Boderry site was having tech problems and wouldn't process the sale. The watch seemed a little bulky at first but I'm getting used to it. I sort of wish the case was a more traditional shape, but as before I'm warming up to the shape. High quality strap. Very light weight. I actually sleep with this watch on.

Some others have mentioned it, you can get the same watch with a Seiko NH35 movement. This improves the secondhand sweep. However, I do find my crown is harder to push back in that I'd like. As in, pull out to change the time and it hacks. But, pushing it back in to re-engage is a bit iffy.
However, for the specs and price, it is a great versatile watch. Beyond the afore mentioned mechanical gripe, my only complaint about the form of the watch is the lug arrangement. I do not mind its 22mm, but the length of the lugs protruding from the case is a bit awkward and the bracelet option looks really odd to me. Looks good on the Zulu strap though.

Hey. Like & sub from NC,USA. I haven’t worn a watch in a long time. Last one was a timex Ironman .needed a bunch of alarms & timers for mixing stuff doing dental lab work. Like simple utilitarian look of field watches with offset screw down crown for water proofing. I was thinking about getting a citizen eco drive. Have a $100 gift card for Amazon & haven’t needed anything yet. Had it with relying on a phone for EVERYTHING..!.like long lasting things. Auto,Solar..8000 series & lugs guy below mentioned.??? It’s all Greek to me. Should I spend a little more, get this one,Bertucie or????any suggestions would be great. Thank you for the video.
PS. The titanium field watch search started with the $40 Lorus .People are apparently paying 3x that now..I don’t know how it would feel wearing a watch that I knew I’d payed too much for just because of a few bigger watch channels reviews pre-early Covid. You know what I’m saying. Take care.

I hear you and I know prices on certain watches have gone up quite a bit, life for instance; I purchased an Orient Bambino for £110 a couple of years back on Amazon and now the same watch is selling on there for £239 - crazy! Thanks for watching and supporting, means a lot 👍👍

Does anybody know what the custom charges are in the uk from Aliexpress these days?

I’ve never had to pay anything but if the watch costs less that £135 (or there abouts) you pay 20% at the checkout on Ali - I hope that helps mate 👍👍

So no one is going to talk about how it's an exact rip off of a Bertucci A2T?

    • @WatchtheTime

In fairness Giovanni I never talk about watches, any watch I feature may be ‘homaging’ tbh. Apologies but not worth the problems that may cause. Thanks for watching 👍👍

Yes I noticed, but I guess they have to make it slightly different so as not to get a c&d or something
