Despite having studied cephalopods for some time now, I knew that only some species of octopuses could produce 'pseudomorph' ink, but didn't know squids could do the same. Also, I had no idea that the ink could be 'phagomimetic' but now I do. Having said that, thank you so much Scishow team🙏, keep on feeding our brains with new data.

I sure hope they find a treatment for Dry Eye from this. I suffer from it badly and put sterile drops in my eyes about 10-20 a day depending on what I am doing; with being outdoors and computer time being the worst. Unfortunately, a few years back all the companies who make these drops jumped on the "Get The Red Out" bandwagon. In case you didn't know it and have used these they work by contracting the blood vessels in your eyes thereby getting rid of the blood that makes your eyes red in the first place. This is a bad thing to do often, it reduces the nutrition to the eye and allows waste to build up. Anyway, it is hard now to find plain saline and maybe alligators will help me. Kind of weird now that I think of it. Finally, I wonder if putting electrolytes in your eyes would be even better. I don't think I'm going to go out and buy a bottle of electrolyte water, but it is tempting.
