I groaned when I first saw this as Escape is one of those songs that I automatically turn off when I hear it. I decided to listen because it was you, lol. I absolutely loved your version. You have forever redeemed this song for me. Thanks for yet another gift, Carson!
This is definitely NOT "a massive mistake." Over the years I have heard Escape over & over again on the radio. It still shows up regularly on a local station. It may be the same words & notes, but you have made it a fresh new song. It works, very well.

Hey Carson, this was just great. I really liked this song when I was in college in Flagstaff AZ, long before I was married. I've been married now for 40 years! (happily I might add) Imagining what would happen if this really occurred is certainly a case for gun control. I think the words would have to be changed to more like, "So you like Pena coladas? You're gettin' shot in the rain! You won't need any health foods...but you will feel no pain..."

Doctor Bird Jamaica rum, pineapple, lime juice, cream of coconut, coconut milk...the only question mark is using that Vitamix, which I'm not used to doing. A blender hefty enough to be measured in horsepower is sort of terrifying. But yeah would recommend my bartending 👍
