We went through Port Agutta recently on a trip to explore the peninsulars in our trusty LC79 with my homemade canopy on the back. We do it pretty simply and don’t look like a caravan. They were putting their crops in dry on the gamble it would rain soon. Barley and canola covering just about the whole Yorke Peninsular. A lot on the Eyre too.
A bloke who rolled into Port Augusta early one morning had a Chihuahua dog run out at the front wheel of his Superliner. He was running super singles on the steer. He run over it unintentionally & it made a loud pop almost like a gun shot. It's guts burst out it's backside spraying the 2 old shelias walking the dog on the footpath. I asked what did he do? Oh your the one in Caltowie. I tried looking you up some months ago but clumsy find you. Yes I know Deb. I read supposed to do an interview with her just before it closed but she wasn't in the right mood.
You should have been going through The Gutter back in the '80's when old Nobby Clark was the "Heavy" or the Weights and Measures fellow and he had a very good imagination as to the "crimes" he would accuse truckies of committing, whether you had done them or not. It was a bit of a game to him. He had a Government issued F100 which was quite unreliable (who's surprised?) and he conned me into taking him into Iron Knob one day when it broke down on him out on the highway. Talking of how the train compares to road, one SCT train carries approximately 150 B Double loads, at least, and does the trip in around two days from Parkes to Perth, unloaded on the day it arrives and quite often delivered the same day depending upon when the client booked it into the receiving warehouse.
Another great video, I just played on the big screen while cooking dinner, audio was a little hard to hear, otherwise a cool way to see Aust. Maybe sunset over the Nullarbor would be nice. Story on the old gaol sounds good.

@ yea they call it old Dubbo jail where a guide takes you through and shows you a old jail where the first prisoners spend time around that area
Sounds interesting. I don't pass through Dubbo all that much but we'll see how we go.

Yes I'll use an external microphone next time
I used to live in Maryborough
That looks nice. Why did you leave?
I know a jail we might be able to explore the old Parramatta jail because I've watched someone on TH-cam do a tour of it by himself
Oh that sounds great. Can I get my truck in there or at just too the location?
@@RoadTrainAdventures I'm not sure but you might not be able to
Nice one Johnno mate.(:=()
Awesome. Thanks again Raymond
Great video audio not so much.
Thanks Mitch. I'll use a proper microphone next time.
@@RoadTrainAdventures awesome. Keep the shiny side up
Will do
Hi johno how are things going
Going OK. I'm in Bourke about to hit the really really bad roads
@@RoadTrainAdventures are they still bad used to be bad years ago take care were are you heading to
They are shocking
@@RoadTrainAdventures keep the videos coming ken done one when he got home
Yes I saw. That was funny. I'm at Hebel now. This is where I'll stay for the night.
Yeah, we made it this far and when you're heading through my old stomping ground of Crystal Brook / Burra / Morgan / Renmark there are a lot of old characters who made our industry the envy of the world. However, the thing that just blew me away was I know you did this video about a month ago, as I was at the OTR in the gutter with a load of depot snot heading over to Kewdale then up north. I just finished telling @Brad_The_Truckie that I just done the last 6 weeks paddock bashing and finally made it back home for a spell.... Sorry cobber, I was one of those not giving you a clearway through the bowsers, Next time cobber :)
I made that video a few days ago. Anyway I got around OK so it's all good. I'll have to look up this history around Burra.
The freight train carriage limit is 88
88 carriages?
Hey Johnno
Are you open to advertising on your channel?
It really depends what it is.
@@RoadTrainAdventures We left a letter on your mail from trucker calculator, where we tell you more details about our project
We look forward to hearing from you
Oh yes I see. I'll have a look at it.
@@RoadTrainAdventures Ok Thank you
We can’t hear you! Remote mic needed! Otherwise interesting video,
Sorry. I'll sort this out before next one
You`re permitted to turn your road train across the highway at that location?
For sure or we'd be stuck on the wrong side of the road.
@@RoadTrainAdventures It`s illegal to do a right turn across Highway 1 as a road train except in designated areas of the gazette. Unless that intersection now has an exemption, you`re supposed to drop a trailer to make that turn. I`m not trying to be a smart arse, because it occasionally gets done (previously even by me), but I don`t publish the footage. I enjoy your videos. Take it easy Jonno.
Thanks Jimmy. Every road train I know, heading west will cross there. It's OK. I'm not worried about the police.
Get the better headlights
Yes that a good now
Put cameras everywhere inside and outside
Yes that would be good
I don't miss Port Augusta
Oh no. It's a great place... To pass through
