I came to your channel after watching the video you did with DownieLive. I used to be a Sales Rep for a automotive mining and industrial sales company for first their Narrogin Branch and then a shared role between Port Hedland and Karratha Branch. Through my role I did quite a few kilometres through both the areas you visited, although not much in between them. The landscape is incredible in both places and I loved driving through it and seeing it change as you tick off the kilometres. I remember that feeling watching your videos and it makes me want to get out there again.
Very good. It's great to have you along. I get a lot of comments saying how my trips being back come memories.
Same to me.
By the way @RoadTrainAdventures, did you mean it's 39 degrees Celsius? What month is that?
@vincent9102 Yes Celsius. This was October
Me too!!🤙
@TheRominul Awesome. Welcome aboard
The fact that you answer to all your comments just shows how much of a kind-hearted man you are. I love your videos and keep up the good work and safe trips!
Oh very nice. Thanks for your kind words.

New subscriber from Downie Live. Love the Aussie scenery and lingo. I have been to Perth and Margaret River, but never to Northwest WA. I looks greener than I expected.
Awesome. Well it's great to have you along.
G’day Johnno, you’ve just got to love this great country we live on, the wide open spaces, country people etc. Another great video!!!!!!

Oh very nice. Well it's great to have your along.
Thanks Johnno great videos some of the places we went through on our round Australia trip 6 year’s ago .what a great country we live in I think you and Kenny have the best trucking videos. Thanks again
Very nice. Thanks Jim. We try.
Hi Mate,
I lived in Newman for 10 years but now in Perth so we’ve seen a lot of the north but your videos have shown us a more in depth of what is up there. Brings back great memories of driving up there. One I will never forget was 10:00pm outside of Meekatharra going back to Newman we stopped on the side of the road and turned off the lights and looked up at the night sky it was so beautiful. No light pollution just absolutely clear. We now FIFO from Perth to Pilbara and at times still see the magic of the Pilbara. Thank you for your video. We follow you. Safe travels 🙏
Yes there is nothing like the country sky.
Still having 44c in my area today Johnno . I always wondered what that part of Australia looked like . Thanks for showing . Some parts not much different from where I am in Arizona, but without the giant Saguaro cactus we have here 🌵. Great video mate , beautiful country . Scott 🌵
When I'm up the top of Australia there are some parts that look like Arizona.
The crops this year are going to be harvested very early, but all look to be doing very well. 15 million tonnes expected..Once again, thank you for your fantastic footage of our beautiful state.
Thanks Chris. Yes the crops are looking very healthy.
I love your videos. You seem like a really cool guy. Please record more and I will be watching :) Greetings from Poland!
Awesome. I'll definitely so that for you
Total Random drop in my feed. Now a fan love your videography, commentary and that scenery. Subscribed based on the excellent video.
Oh excellent. Well it's great to have you along.
Hi johnno so great to watch your journey and all the scenery along the way and huge amount of time and effort you put into your videos so wishing you safe miles cheers from Tim on the Gold Coast ( keep on trucking )
Awesome. Thanks again Tim
Beautiful country up there. Thanks for playing tour guide mate.
Awesome. Thanks Dave
My best friends move to Australia about 3 year ago, he loves it. Thanks for showing me different places, always wanted to go there. 😢
Awesome. It's great to have you along.
How are ya now? Fellow train driver here sending out a breaker breaker from the great white north! I’m shouting out from my sleeper in a 2021 western star 4900ex hauling super B gas tankers in eastern Canada. What better thing to watch after a 16 hour day on the road, but another trucker sorry truckie driving his trains down under? Nothing better on TH-cam’s i say!
Very good. Some of my videos may be relaxing, so they say.
Very nice thanks for posting.retired driver in Texas
Very nice. Thanks James. It's great to have you along.
Really enjoy watching these road trains! We cover semi drag racing here in the United States with what we call B trains. Enjoyed the Downie video had to come subscribe.
That sounds great too. I've seen the videos.
Great video, only 5c here cold and lots of flooding from south Wales uk 🇬🇧. What a lovely job you got. Take care.
Oh that's very different. Well live a better life through these videos.
Just recently discovered your channel and absolutely love it. This is about the 4th video I’ve watched and my truck made a very very surprising cameo on this video at the Canarvon roadhouse. Workmate and I are in the REEF DAFs having a quick fuel stop on our way to Onslow. This was also my very first trip driving a road train.
Oh wow. Yes it's pretty cool when you see yourself on someone elsed videos.
Always love watching your videos johnno
Awesome. Thanks Andrew
Another great video Johnno like that it's not all driving showing the local facilities and the great weather 39 degrees knock 30 off that here in Northern Ireland it's freezing looking forward to the next one keep on trucking 🚚
Thanks Gary. I'd rather it be cooler that really hot.
"Nan-you-tarra" Roadhouse - great ham and salad rolls. Love your channel mate. We have weird pronounciation over here - try Paraburdoo, Ningaloo and Pannawonica - also in the WAFL, a Derby is not a hat
All those other names are easy to pronounce for me.
@@RoadTrainAdventures not a trick question - there is a suburb just south of Fremantle named Cockburn - how would you go with that?
That's pronounced coburn.
love seeing how the roadhouses have changed since i was last there
i need to go on another road trip
How long ago was it that you were there?
@ the last time i drove down from Port hedland was 2014 so probably then or 2015 when i drove to exmouth from perth
Oh that was a while ago.
@@RoadTrainAdventures hard to believe it’s been 10 years lol
Yes times is going too fast.
Seems like u r going to be my new Fav youtuber sir.
Oh very nice. I'll take that.
Aussie roadhouses don't seem too different to US truck stops. The difference in rigs is noticeable - I get the snorkel air intake and the massive bull bars. Don't see the massive truck cabs with kitchen/bathroom, wondered why they're not more common down under. Same with twin steer axle setups.
Keep up the awesome videos mate 🤠
It's because our truck is included in the maximum length.
@@RoadTrainAdventures Yeah - tractor+trailer length limit. They have that in the US too - 65 feet depending on which state. It is kind of funny/ironic talking about length limits though when it's a road train. The big sleepers get by using a shorter trailer (40 foot) and sticking to truck routes.
Geography would matter as well - a quad road train would struggle negotiating the rockies with the inclines and altitude. Most of Australia is, fortunately, very flat 😎
Yes most of Australia is flatter but a lot is also mountains and hills.
Yes that really does like an impressive shed. Would love to see it being built!
No chance of me sticking around for that. Ha ha
That was a very upbeat video. Lovely scenery. Somewhere a bit different. Not raining, and a clean truck. Happy days. The only hiccup is yet another ply box on wheels smashed up. Dodgy things to tow around caravans, especially if you aren't used to towing trailers. Often on the limit of towing capacity. Loaded out of balance, and a Muppet at the wheel. What could go wrong ?
Ha ha. Thanks Dave. Yes accidents are happening everywhere.
Hi good day sir like your channel, and way of having a nice office im not a Trucker, but really appreciate your channel..from south africa
Awesome and thanks for coming along.
You got the name pretty right. Bloody expensive!! I don’t buy fuel there that’s for sure. Great video. Brings back memories. Thanks Chris from Australind.
Very nice. Thanks Chris. Glad you could come along.
Love your films. I live in southern England but have been lucky enough to travel widely in Australia.
I found the best fly deterrent was TCP. Okay you smell like an operating theatre. I used it for bug bites but found it kept the flies away as well. It also keeps people away also, which isn’t so good. Keep the films coming, I love them.
TCP? I I've never heard of that one.
@@RoadTrainAdventures It’s an antiseptic. Great for bug bites. I’m sure you can Google it. Not only does it repel insects, but people as well. Keep the lovely films coming. Sat in pre winter England, they lift my soul.
Oh OK. I've got a few to try now. It was 32 degrees yesterday no winter here.
What a fantastic video - Really nice scenery. Would like to go there myself one day
Regards from Denmark
Come on down. I'm sure you'll enjoy.
I recall seeing the Nanutarra roadhouse when it was literally the two fuel pumps and a small kiosk, this May 1971. I always pronounced it phonetically “Nanu-tarra”.
1971. A little before I was born.
@@RoadTrainAdventures ha ha! In fact that trip took me back to my early days in aviation. Thanks!
My videos always bring back memories. That's great
HI Johnno. I hope everything is going well on your side. Thanks again for your videos which are always a pleasure to watch. It is really very interesting to discover new Australian roads, especially for us other French truck drivers. Still 2 months and I will finally be able to apply for my visa, then I could start doing my research to try to find a job as a truck driver in Australia hoping to be able to drive in MC and finally be able to meet you on the roads. I wish you an excellent week and be safe on the roads. The Frenchy 😉🍻
Awesome. That's all very exciting. I hope you find it all smooth to get here.
Regarding those “bendy trees”, in my aviation career in 1970 I spent two weeks in Geraldton and recalled seeing that and a number of other trees that had been shaped by those Westerly winds.
Oh wow. So you've been here. You know what I'm talking about then.
@@RoadTrainAdventures yes!
@@michaelhayden725 Very good
I too seen you on Downielive. Looks like you had a lot of fun. I worked up in the Kimberly 40 years ago, on a cattle station. So I know what you are talking about with the heat. And I drove log trucks here in Victoria. The bush tracks are hard on the back. I used to drive a flintstone Mack with a 20 10/10 speed spicer, V8 350hp twin turbo. Sadly it was crashed, not long after I got out of it.
Sounds like you've got some great experience there and it's great to have your along from DownieLive.
Another great vlog boss what more can I say love the drone footage but keep em like this roll on the next one 😊😊😊
Thanks Neil. When I get his trips like this I always make a video of it.
fabulous. only got a taste of trucking, back in the 70's when i hitched around oz and this is the go. thanks for the ride. keep on truckin!
Awesome. Thanks Mark. It was great to have you along.

Here from DownieLive channel. Content sounded good and looks good. Sub’d 🤩
Awesome. It's great to have you along.
😎. You're a born filmmaker. 👌
Thanks for your kind words. I do have a technical background
When I lived in Karratha we all swore by Bushman's. But you do get somewhat used to the flies. I have done that drive many times (obviously not as much as you professional drivers would) but thoroughly enjoyed the ride along! I miss the north west!
I've got the Bushman but it doesn't keep all the flies off and I never get used to the flies. I can't stand them landing on me.
@@RoadTrainAdventures The brown stronger can? We also sprayed it on our shirts, but admittedly I left there in 2018 so they could just be way worse this year.
Yeah. I just ordered some of that Nature's Botanical. I'll try that one.
Not much has changed heading from Perth to Karratha/Dampier in the last forty years still all looks almost as I remember it, including the Roadhouse. Plenty of flash 4×4's and vans now though. Very nostalgic coming along with you on the trip cheers m8 :-)
Awesome. Thanks Stephen.
Hey Johnno, great content again mate! I always thought that luminescent ear tags on the cattle woukd have been a great idea to enable you to see them when they were close to the road..... also, whenever i got a take away burger i always asked them to cut them in half, making it easier to eat on the run... great video mate!
Some very good ideas there. Good one.
Always great to catch up with friends, he has a nice 1100XX Blackbird. I have one just like it. 👍 . Keep safe Johnno
Very good
Thanks Johnno. You always seem to pick places I was bought up in. Wagin, Dumbleyung, Kukerin, Lake Grace etc till the age of about 13. Stay safe travel well. Greg💚
Oh wow. Kukerin was actually the place I delivered to.
@@RoadTrainAdventures Be curious to see if some of the farmers or family are still around in those areas. Must admit this was back in the 50s/60s.
That was a long time ago. By not being around, I wonder if you are asking if they'd still be alive?
@@RoadTrainAdventuresI just wondering if any of the young boys/sons that I grew up with stayed n took over the farm or left like I did. More out of curiousity.
I seen u with Downie live yesterday.. so I came over 2 ur channel check out ur videos,, Subscribed 2 u love the sense of freedom.. Hi mate, you did pronounced correctly “Nanutarra” over here we all pronounce the same 👍👍👍, used to stop there weekly for shower when I was doing Wheatstone/ Onslow run till few months ago.
Oh very good then. It's hard some if these names to get correct.
@@RoadTrainAdventures I know, some of the manes of the places that we have here in WA make you wander sometimes 😂😂
Most are aboriginal names that I know how to pronounce.
Jonno I love your VLOGs, thanks.
Very nice. Thanks Stuart
Saw your trip with DownieLive and had to drop a sub. Look forward to more adventures on the road!

@@RoadTrainAdventures Thanks! Great to be here.

Hi Johnno, thanks for editing me in at timeline 12.20.safe travels.
Anytime. It was great to meet you both
Another great video, thanks Johnno. I never realised just how much of a population of people and towns there is in the Pilbara, rather incredible, given it’s so damn hot but I suppose you would get used to the heat after a few years.
I’ve worked outside on different jobs and I think I’ve found the best fly deterrent, and that is Aftershave believe it or not, it’s got to be one of reasonable quality but not the best quality. It’s either the alcohol content or the smelly stuff that seems to deter the flies.
Thanks David. Yes people love in all areas of the country. Sometimes you wonder why. Maybe I'll have to try that after shave idea.
Great video as always Johnno! Enjoy watching what your carrying and where your going. Will hopefully catch up in person with you one day! 👍
Thanks Matthew. Yes keep looking out for me. I'll be around.
WA is such a beautiful place. I really miss it. I can't wait to move back.

What sound tracks are on this video? The one about "friends" is very good.
Oh that song is called, "Life Moves So Fast" by Adam Simons
Just found is channel love to go to auss and do what you do looks great. from Chester England 🏴 👍
Very nice. Thanks Paul. Maybe you'll be over here one day.
G'Day Jonno. The best fly deterrent I have found is RID, in a maroon coloured container. (I guess it must be from Qld). Safe trips. Regards, Greg.
Thanks Greg. You're the second person to recommend that one.
@@RoadTrainAdventures G'Day Jonno. RID comes in multiple packaging, the 500ml bottle is the best value for money. It is also in available in 'Tropical strength' for those 747 Sized mozzies in Qld ;-)
Ok maybe I'll have to try that after I finish this bottle.
Hi iam from Punjab india i was also a truckie in Canada for 14years after that I came back to Punjab india and naw framing on my own land with my family living in a village in Punjab i watch your vedios i like your truck KW i was also drive KW900 in Canada ok bye

Great job happy truckie! 👍
Very nice. Thanks heaps
Superb mate.
Awesome. Thanks heaps
I converted the ten dollar to pounds £5.00 for a egg sandwich 😮 Shocking and thanks i love the channel.
It is the middle of nowhere so things are going to be more expensive.
Johnno, The best fly repellent we have found is Nature’s Botanical
Rosemary & Cedarwood Repellent. It doesn't have the chemical smell and feel most of the pressure packs have and a little bit goes a hell of a long way. They have an online presence as well as some resellers. I have no relationship with Natures Botanicals and they were recommended by a chemist in Winton QLD.
Ok thanks. I'll check that one out.
Funny, I’ve just done that run up from Gero to Karratha and back to Gero, great video again mate and the pronunciation is Nan Ya Tarra
Thanks Robbie. That's probably the right way to say it.
Allways great to see your videos!!
Thanks heaps. It's great to have you along
Great trip John. Nanutarra, Nan-You-tarra. That's how we say it. I would love to do that trip in a truck. Safe journey........
Thanks Dexter. Yes that sounds about right.
That was a great video mate. Looking forward to wandering over there next year. Didn’t know they had a radio telescope at Carnarvon
Thanks. Are you travelling up and down the north west or just going to Perth?
Been there since the 60s
The 60s. Wow
@RoadTrainAdventures yeah marathon man was surprised but that thing was built by the Americans for the alleged Apollo missions back in the 60s
Oh yeah
Just subscribed….great videos Driver!👍👍
Awesome. It's great to have you along.
working at a Pilbara mine some years back, they had sunscreen with insect repellent, the flys would dance around ya but wouldn't land on ya, next time your on a mine site ask them for some 👍
Oh OK. Yes that might be the one.
Great vids, do you use digital tachograph, paper or a log book and maybe a video on your driving hours and how you have to use your breaks
I use Electronic Work Diary.
I had a good week mate, last weekend went to Winchelsea between Geelong and Colac, that truck went 1500 Klms to Dirranbandi , then straight back to Grenfell for the Thursday job to Walgett, another 541Klms just as well I don't have to fill out a log book... I knocked out over 3288 Klms this week.
Very good week Doug.

Great 👍 video John don’t forget the areoguard keep the flies away 😄
Thanks ivan6. I need a little more than the Aeroguard
@@RoadTrainAdventures Aeroguard is catnip for Aussie flies!
Yes. That's a little too little for flies.
Lovely video. I remember crossing the western part of Oz back in the day... Whose is the song that starts at 5:08 into the video? Greetings from the old world.
That song is, Life Moves So Fast by Adam Simons
Thanks mate, I had* really Struggled to find the song. Love from kenya.

Only way to deal with WA flies other than a net is with Natures Botanical, comes in a 50gram pot. Usually enough on back of ya neck n ears
Yes I heard about this Naturres Botanical so I just bought some but I'm yet to test it.

G'day this is Jonno, it's a nice day at 30C but until it turns to rubbish. I'll follow the usual grey nomads with no UHF. I'll rest at odd hours so that Australia gets some Coco Pops.
Trains might run on time, but Truckies rule.
Very good. Thanks Stuart
Nice one Johnno as usual keep safe regards bob uk
Very nice. Thanks Bob
Great vid
I use Bushmans with extra Deet I think is the best repellent.
The funny think about the electric charger at billabong, like most out back road houses they are powered by diesel gensets. The electricity grid finishes around kalbarri. Even carnarvon has its own power station
I love the drive out of the wheat belt into station country
I have the Bushman one but what deet level do you have?
Some are diesel yes (and one on the Nullabor uses recycled deepfryer oil).. but far more efficient than a diesel car as can charge the batteries at constant slow revs.. but obviously some massive solar arrays will become the norm - no shortage of space afterall
I see
Nice trip good not looking into the sun.
Thanks Wayne
